Rainbow Six Siege Cinematic Trailer

With all the rumor going out these days regarding the anticipation of Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation, Luther) becoming the next James Bond actor, we thought we would bring something new to the table. Yes, we are talking about this handsome British actor again but not about the James Bond speculations about him. Idris Elba stars in a brand-new minute long live-action TV spot trailer for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege from Ubisoft.

Witness as Elba narrates what are the stakes you have to go though to achieve greatness and how to survive the siege.

The trailer perfectly matches the mood of Tom Clancy's first-person shooter franchise and Elba in his natural calm and devil may care state, goes through phases of the action. All the guns blazing, explosions going on everywhere and in the middle of the rampage of the special ops combat mission, he walks forward pointing out the obvious, that sometimes improvisation is the best strategy for survival.

The Los Angeles agency Omelet, are responsible for this piece of cinematic brilliance and reveals that they had a different idea at the beginning which was a bit comical by the way. Then when the creative team started playing, they quickly realized that to match the tonal voice of the intensity of the game, they need to amp up the seriousness of the action. This is why; they decided to go with an actor of Elba's caliber.

Instead of making the trailer with high-octane battle sequences from the in-game footage, the guys at Omelet decided to make it a live-action trailer. This really heightened the sense of realism and the seriousness of Rainbow Six Siege. In an old warehouse in Prague, the production team set-up the stage for the grand play to take place and completed the work within several days.

The series returns after a long break with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege and it will be released worldwide on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from December 1, 2015.
