Two weeks before release, Rockstar Games revealed details on the available arsenal of weapons from Red Dead Redemption 2.

Up until this point, we saw a few trailers, gameplay reveal, early access contents and learned a lot of details about upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 from developer/publisher Rockstar Games, which is one of the most anticipated titles of this year.

A large part of the gameplay involves a lot of shooting and a Western-themed action-adventure game is meaningless without gunfire. To effectively engage in gunfights, Rockstar has unveiled the huge weaponry of the game to offer players a wide array of variants to choose from.

Apparently, there are 50 different weapons you can pick within the game with some of them has customization options according to their official site. To complement accuracy, damage and range, several types of ammunition are available in-game.

In par with realism, if you do not tend to your guns properly and regularly, they will degrade slowly. However, you can keep it in good working condition with oiling and cleaning. Also, the more you use them, the better you get with them in terms of performance.

Weapon customization using constructive upgrade parts like new barrels, grips, scopes and sights practically make them better while you can match that by adding add engravings, metals, varnishes and woods to provide a more aesthetic look.

Noteworthy mentions of weapons are bolt-action rifle, carbine repeater, cattleman revolver, double-action revolver, pump-action shotgun, sawed-off shotgun, sniper rifle, Springfield rifle and varmint rifle. Aside from their unique types, variety of ammo can significantly alter the effect of a shot on a target.

Depending on your situation at hand, some weapons can particularly come in handy than the others. For example, when you are riding a horse, the double-action revolver will be a good shot. In a close range combat sawed-off shotgun is the best choice for firepower.

When hunting a small game, varmint rifle is what you need for not causing much damage to the meat and skin of your prey. In general, all types of rifle can be fitted with scopes to leave it up to player's choice whether they want regular or scoped aiming.
