Known for complex storytelling, the game is mostly celebrated among players for its unique PvE and PvP features. Thanks to developer Bungie and publisher Activision, a legion of fans will be joining the expanded universe of the game.

D2 is set in a futuristic backdrop, where players assume the role of a Guardian of Light who constantly fight against invading alien forces and protect the Last City. Later, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken expansion packs added more to the plot.
