Latest image features Milla Jovovich as Lt. Natalie Artemis, an original character created for the film who is not from MH game series. Actor Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak, Tom-Yum-Goong) appears as one of skilled warriors that battles large monsters called The Hunter.

Artemis is shown carrying a pair of Dual Blades on her back, a carving knife and a Slinger on left arm on an Instagram image. Hunter is wielding an iconic Giant Jawblade and a Great Hunter's Bow, a look inspired from Field Team Leader of Monster Hunter: World.

Anderson said in an interview from set in South Africa that even though Artemis is an original character who never existed in Monster Hunter game, her armor and equipment will take direct inspiration from its original game franchise.

Take Artemis' chest piece for instance as the Odogaron chest piece takes reference from MH: World and its embossing designs are similar as well. Her unique outfit only means that she is an avatar of audience that can be customized with different sets.
