Mortal Kombat 11: How to Unlock Frost

Purchasable DLC fighter Frost is a hidden character within Mortal Kombat 11 that is easily unlockable in Story Mode.

After revealing their full character roster of playable fighters, developer NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has recently released their newest fighting game Mortal Kombat 11 worldwide.

With many fan-favorite characters returning from past Mortal Kombat games, players were looking forward to Frost making a comeback. Though developers brought her back through a DLC, you can easily earn access to her in-game for free!

Whereas you can simply pick up any character from entire roster that are available right away, NetherRealm decided to include this female Lin Kuei warrior in a non-exclusive DLC aside from already adding her as an unlockable hidden character in MK11.

In Story Mode of Mortal Kombat 11, one would require playing through entire Chapter 4 with any one of Scorpion and Sub-Zero or a combination of both on a rescue mission for Cyrax to unlock Frost, which is not really that difficult at all.

Since they made Frost acquirable though gameplay locking her up for only $5.99 on all available platforms, it looks a lot like a cheap scheme to earn some extra buck off the pocket of die-hard fans of their critically-acclaimed franchise.

What is truly baffling here is that in spite of adding her for players to find in-game within a couple of hours into Story Mode, her DLC description had no mention of it and they only added later that you don't require an immediate purchase to get her.

Giving away pre-order bonus character Shao Kahn for MK11 is somewhat understandable but locking up a popular character behind a small paywall smells a lot like a scam because it doesn't even come with a $99.99 worth Premium Edition.

Seeing even Shao Kahn became available for purchase following launch, one may only think whether Mortal Kombat 11 has some hidden way of unlocking Gold Demon Scorpion, Kold War Skarlet and Ninja Mime Johnny Cage somehow.
