Samurai Shodown 2019 Adds Three New Characters

Set to release on June for PS4 and Xbox, Samurai Shodown 2019 reveals three new fighters for newly rebooted title.

Newest Samurai Shodown game from developer SNK is scheduled to hit on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June 27, 2019 is a reboot to named popular series of weapon-based fighting games but still embracing its long-established lore of past.

According to PAX East 2019 panel, players on Nintendo Switch and PC platforms have to wait some more to get their hands on this renowned Japanese franchise but a new trailer gives us an anticipating first-look of three new fighters announced earlier.

There is a quick display of previously confirmed characters like Charlotte, Earthquake, Galford, Genjuro Kibagami, Hanzo Hattori, Haohmaru, Jubei Yagyu, Kyoshiro Senryo, Nakoruru, Shiki, Tam Tam, Ukyo and Yoshitora Tokugawa once more.

Then three newcomers Darli Dagger, Wu-Ruixiang and Yashamaru Kurama are presented to audience with very scarce details on their background but showcasing their fierce battle moves in enigmatic fashion and they are quite impressive.

Darli is a female shipbuilder wielding a saw-toothed giant blade with an equally large handle and a master of many tools. Ruixiang can summon divine beasts by using a Dragoncaller Compass at times and loyally serves Qing dynasty.

Yashamaru apparently is lead protagonist of new Samurai Spirits title and is a fallen samurai himself. Aside from his blade, he is able to command and manipulate wind in combat other than employing Kurama-ryū Heihō style of fighting.

Fans are obviously familiar with over-dramatic tone of fighting opponents and spilling their blood all over are old traits that SNK reinvents by shifting from 2D animation style to 3D for a more modern approach to the legendary fighting game.

Summer 2019 couldn't come any sooner for an all-new return of Samurai Shodown and we are excited just as much as many series fans. However, it remains to be seen whether or not we get a new final boss character this time or someone from past returns.
