Plants Vs. Zombies 3 Announced

PopCap and EA just announced newest sequel of lawn defense game, Plants Vs. Zombies 3 for mobile devices.

Following a direct sequel and two third-person shooter spin-offs, developer PopCap Games and publisher Electronic Arts are all set to make a comeback in zombie-battling experience with upcoming free-to-play mobile game Plants Vs. Zombies 3.

Currently, a pre-alpha version of the game is launched on Google Play store already that has no micro-transactions in it yet and whether or not they will add this highly controversial feature in it are not confirmed by publisher as well.

Back in 2009, Plants Vs. Zombies was launched on Mac and PC platforms as a tower defense title that received immense popularity overnight. It is a comedic take on zombie apocalypse, where players defend their home from zombies using plants.

As soon as Electronic Arts got involved, they shifted towards a free-to-play approach from Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time and started to update it in following years with new enemies and worlds under a premise of time-travel.

Since "in-app purchases" is listed on store entry, we can bet that there would be some loot box like aspects in PVZ3. EA has released the game on Android devices to get early feedbacks on combat system because it is still in pre-alpha state.

Plants Vs. Zombies 3 marks to be third mainline entry in PVZ franchise of lawn defense titles. Official announcement also stated there would be limited number of downloads available during pre-alpha, so player may have to check in more than once.
