Final Fantasy 7 Remake Becomes Best-Selling Game of April 2020

Only within a month of release, Final Fantasy VII Remake becomes top-selling game for the month of April 2020.

It was revealed through an official announcement last month that newly released action role-playing game Final Fantasy VII Remake from developer/publisher Square Enix has become fastest-selling PlayStation 4-exclusive ever.

Even amidst middle of COVID-19 global pandemic, FFVII Remake has sold over 3.5 million units in just three days and according to a latest sales figures report from NPD, Final Fantasy VII is currently the best-selling game of April 2020.

NPD has released sales figures for video games in April 2020 today that shows a major increase in sales up to 55%, where titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was topped by Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Square Enix's 1997 classic JRPG remake is already third best-selling game of year 2020 overall behind Modern Warfare and New Horizons, which also broke franchise launch month record previously set by Final Fantasy XV in 2016.

Fans throughout worldwide have lost their collective minds when Final Fantasy VII Remake was originally announced back in E3 2015 for PS4 and they all waited for long without any official word from Square Enix to reveal its release.

It took multiple delays for FF VII Remake to finally arrive after five long years and has managed to impress everyone with its updated look. Fans of original Final Fantasy VII and newcomers have cordially embraced its modern take.

Square Enix has a series of titles planned for future to follow up first installment of FF7 Remake and expand its lore. A second part is on planning stage now and game co-director Tetsuya Nomura hopes to release next chapter a bit earlier.

Numbers revealed by NPD also adds up with early reports of Final Fantasy VII Remake selling more than 3.5 million units worldwide. Given how much fans and critics have appreciated FF VII, its impressive sales is not much of a surprise.
