Early impressions implied that SS4 will be released simultaneously across all current-gen console platforms. However, players on Google's cloud gaming service gets to play the game before everyone else on PS4 and Xbox One.

Google has paid a large sum to attain an exclusivity deal for Stadia and will not allow SS4: Planet Badass to release on home consoles. Devolver has not yet given any exact date of expected release or when exclusive window ends though.

Despite making many promises ahead of launch, Stadia eventually failed to make a lasting impression to consumer base. Its ambitious launch back in November 2019 was watered down quickly by lack of games and technical difficulties.

Serious Sam 4 exclusivity can draw some attention of gaming crowd to Stadia but majority of them won't be very happy about it. A game announced for all platforms becoming a timed exclusive stinks like nothing other than corporate greed.

Serious Sam 4 is bringing back classic action vibe of titular series in fast-paced gunplay and cheesy one-liners. It will introduce new "Legion" system, which can spawn up to tens of thousands of enemies to crowd its expansive maps.
