Days before E3 2021 event, developer EA DICE and publisher Electronic Arts reveals upcoming first-person shooter title Battlefield 2042 to release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on October 22, 2021.

A gameplay trailer has premiered during Xbox & Bethesda Games E3 2021 showcase afterwards with other details. Getting a better look at Specialists and more, EA recently confirms bringing back Squad Revive feature from Battlefield V.

Battlefield 2042 senior design director Daniel Berlin sheds light on specialties and traits lately at Answers HQ. While talking about all-new playable classes, BF 2042 team announces the return of Squad Revive mechanic from 2018's BFV.

Battlefield V included a feature known as Squad Revive, which would let players to revive their downed teammates. BF5 allowed even non-Medic combatants to restore health of their fellow soldiers to offer them another fighting chance.

Highlighting unique abilities of newly introduced Specialist named Falck, EA mentions of Squad Revive mechanic that will not restore players to full health, whereas Falck can fully revive any of her squad-mate by using combat surgeon trait.

Her combat surgeon trait has an advantage over Squad Revive but can still be useful to players when they are down. Being unable to bring back allies to their full capacity and taking longer to perform this action are its two main drawbacks.

In spite of having some disadvantages, Squad Revive will surely be helpful for Battlefield players when it comes to large-scale matches. Often times, this particular skill would be a tiebreaker in scenarios like 128-players All-Out Warfare mode.

DICE and EA are planning to discuss more in-depth detail on Battlefield 2042 at EA Play Live on July 22, 2021. Some leaks and rumors are currently hinting at a surprise reveal for third mystery multiplayer mode and Battlefield Hub first-look.
