Metroid Dread Footage Reveals How to Defeat E.M.M.I. Robots

One of the main highlights of Nintendo Direct E3 2021 stream last month was surprise reveal of upcoming action-adventure game Metroid Dread by developer Mercury Steam and publisher Nintendo, exclusively coming to Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo recently released a new footage on social media, showing Metroid series protagonist Samus Aran in an encounter against a deadly new enemy type known as E.M.M.I. robot and is eventually successful in taking one of them down.

Metroid Dread has offered a first-look at its 2D side-scrolling gameplay and its stunning visual at E3 showcase. Among many hostile creatures, Samus will face Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier Robots (E.M.M.I.) in her latest mission.

Newly revealed video shows off Samus using her offensive abilities to take down a seemingly indestructible E.M.M.I. robot unit, guiding players on how to approach and possibly survive one of the most menacing enemies of Metroid Dread.

It was hinted on first trailer that intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran will have a tough time taking down these mechanical beasts. They don't go down easy like any standard enemies and will require advanced strategies and new weapons.

Often times, players can avoid them by simply switching to Samus's stealth abilities, turning on her Phantom Cloak. However, there are times when you are cornered by E.M.M.I.s and have no defense left other than standard blasts and strikes.

A new video shared on Nintendo of America official Twitter account shows how Samus can take E.M.M.I.s down.

Only chance Samus can have to fight them is to absorb energy from defeated Central Units and power up for attacks. When equipped with this power source, she can shoot at E.M.M.I. robots with powerful Omega Stream and Omega Blaster.

Also to note that, Samus will lose all mobility when charging these blasts as one of these EMMI machines march towards her. Compared to previously mentioned stealthy approach, this one is a high-risk tactics of dealing with E.M.M.I. robots.

It takes an awful lot of firepower to take down a single E.M.M.I. machine when you accidentally bump into one and therefore, players should be extremely cautious about their stances as well as level of power in dangerous situations like this.

Metroid Dread is getting a lot of attention from newcomers and series veterans since its official announcement at E3 2021. Hopefully, Mercury Steam still has a lot of surprises in store for fans to discover following release on October 8, 2021.
