Recent announcement for modern-day revival of sci-fi horror game Dead Space from developer Motive Studios and publisher Electronic Arts at EA Play Live digital event has finally confirmed a long-running rumor of a next-gen remake project.

EA and Motive are hiring some of the biggest industry names and veteran of original trilogy for upcoming Dead Space Remake. Among them is former Assassin's Creed Valhalla game director Eric Baptizat, who worked at Ubisoft for 16 years.

Back in June, there was a report of Baptizat leaving Ubisoft after 16 years and joining EA Motive to work on a project that is yet to be revealed, which he has confirmed on LinkedIn by updating his profile as director of new Dead Space Remake.

Other than serving as game director for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Baptizat worked as lead game designer for Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag as well as movies like Avatar (2009) and Surf's Up.

Eric Baptizat joining EA Motive team for Dead Space Remake is great news for fans considering his decade-long experience in gaming industry and recent success of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, adds good credentials to his resume as its director.

Motive Studios was originally founded by another Ubisoft veteran named Jade Raymond, who was a producer for Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs, has lead EA Motive to assist developing Star Wars Battlefront II and Star Wars: Squadrons.

Eric Baptizat will be joined by another Ubisoft executive and creative director Roman Campos-Oriola. Motive Studios also hired Mike Yazijian as art director, who previously worked on Dead Space 2 (2011) at now-shut down Visceral Games.

Dead Space Remake will be releasing exclusively on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X but yet to have a release window at sight. Fans only got a first-look at Isaac Clark through a brief teaser trailer during EA Play Live digital event last month.
