World War Z: Aftermath Gameplay and Release Date Revealed

As part of Summer of Gaming 2021 event, an expanded edition of 2019 co-op zombie survival shooter World War Z titled "Aftermath" featuring next-gen upgrades was announced by Saber Interactive and Mad Dog Games back in June.

An official press release reveals that physical edition of World War Z: Aftermath for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version is coming on September 21, 2021, which will be followed by a Nintendo Switch retail version launching in autumn 2021.

Saber Interactive released a new official gameplay overview trailer highlighting features of WWZ: Aftermath.

World War Z currently has a community of over 15 million players to join alongside across PC and consoles via cross-play. You can either party up with a group of three friends or play WWZ story episodes on your own with AI teammates.

When you are done exploring all campaign missions from World War Z base game, step in to newly introduced locations like Vatican City and take back Rome or can head over to Kamchatka peninsula and join forces with Russian survivors.

Every new recruit and returning characters now have a melee system to combat zombie hordes and brutally take them down. Players now have options to dual-wield weapons like cleaver and sickles while getting unique perks and lot more.

In a post-apocalyptic world, zombies are not the only threats to look out for as you should keep an eye on swarm of rats. Unless you pay heed to this group of enemies and work together as a team, they will overwhelm you in a few seconds.

To turn up zombie-slaying intensity to another level, Saber Interactive adds a first-person mode for WWZ: Aftermath. Already available character roster gets all-new Vanguard class, wielding a powerful electric shield to devastate zeke hordes.

World War Z: Aftermath also arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, running at 60 FPS in stunning 4K resolution. Switch version will be including all content from WWZ: Game of the Year Edition for a retail price of $39.99 only.
