Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta and Multiplayer Details Revealed

Only few months away from release, developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision is heavily promoting upcoming 2021 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Vanguard, scheduled to release across all platforms on November 5, 2021.

Today, Sledgehammer Games have unveiled first-look at CoD: Vanguard multiplayer gameplay by launching a brand-new trailer. They also shared further details on Open Beta weekend that starts on September 10, 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET.

Vanguard campaign mode will be focusing on origin of Special Forces and multiplayer lets you become part of an elite team. Opening weekend will allow exclusive Early Access to players on PlayStation consoles and then for every platforms.

Participants of Vanguard Beta weekend get a taste of full online experience in three new maps and game modes. Champion Hill will be making an anticipated return with newest weapon sets and weapon blueprint will be unlocked on level 20.


Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer will have around twenty maps for core gameplay, Champion Hill and 2v2 Gunfights. There will be objective-based Patrol mode, which takes inspiration from Hardpoint and Operators goes after a scoring zone.

A dynamic Combat Pacing system will be in place to choose from Assault, Blitz and Tactical type play. Players who just want to join a lobby and have some fun can select "All" to get a variety of experience, more like Quick Play-style each match.


An all-new Clan system based on Regiments system from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) is there to manage Battle Pass rewards, emblems and progression for your entire group, giving you and your teammates some achievement goals.

Vanguard Beta will allow cross-generation and cross-platform play, so that no one is left behind in a battlefield. Gunsmith feature from Modern Warfare comes with up to 10 attachment slots for select weapons and Riot Shields are coming back.

Thanks to reactive environments, now you can blast through weak walls and break down doors or any other objects to flush out sneaky campers. Operator perks will return and weapon perks are now called Proficiencies, with few adjustments.

Vanguard features a global cast of Operators inspired by real heroes of WWII; each of them has their own background. Other than Battle Pass, Clan, regular and weapon XP, earn Operator XP to unlock calling cards, cosmetics, skins and more.


PC players can expect uncapped frame rates, multi-monitor and ultra-wide screen support as a courtesy of Beenox studio. Additionally, new anti-cheat system launches for Vanguard later this year when Warzone integration will be complete.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be releasing on PC via Battle.net, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in November 2021. Franchise fans are likely to receive a new trailer for Zombies experience from Treyarch in near future.
