One of the most-anticipated releases of 2022, upcoming action role-playing game Elden Ring by developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment is reportedly a follow-up and successor to acclaimed Dark Souls series.

Today, Bandai Namco has officially announced delaying Elden Ring release date by a month, on February 25, 2022, instead of January 21, 2022 and has promised to launch a limited time Beta test program next month for interested fans.

Bandai Namco took official social media handles of Elden Ring today to inform everyone about an unfortunate delay of release. They simply implied needing more time to finish an ambitious AAA-game at hand to meet fan-expectation.

Bandai Namco also invites everyone to participate in a Closed Network Test next month, asking people register before November 1, 2021. A number of sessions will run from November 12-15, to gather feedback on current playable build.

Official Twitter account for Elden Ring announces an unexpected delay and reveals Closed Test for next month.

Although a sudden postponement of Elden Ring release may come as a surprise to many but in past, many claimed that the game may have gotten cancelled, due to maintaining long silence for over a year since E3 2019 announcement.

Elden Ring is confirmed to arrive for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms early next year. A brief gameplay footage has recently been leaked online, which shows in-game environment for few seconds.
