A debut game for California-based developer studio Respawn Entertainment, 2014 online first-person shooter Titanfall was a critically-acclaimed game for having gameplay balance, shooting mechanics and a unique sci-fi story setting.

For eight years, Titanfall has been a successful franchise for publisher Electronic Arts but today, they decided to remove the game from sales permanently and Respawn has shared an official statement across social media to address it.

Titanfall is not available for purchase on digital storefronts anymore and will be removed from subscription services by March 2022. Players who already bought it will be able to keep it and Respawn will keep the servers live for fans.

Although both EA and Respawn didn't reveal a definitive reason for sudden delisting of original Titanfall game, many are assuming that ongoing DDoS attacks for last few years may have been a key-factor that led to the game's removal.

Respawn releases a statement regarding official removal of first Titanfall game and may have teased Titanfall 3.

Respawn reassures fans about their commitment to Titanfall series that continues with Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends for now "and in the future", which may suggest that they have some plans for Titanfall 3 or any related future projects.

Respawn Entertainment has recently sidelined plans for a new Titanfall game to focus on free-to-play Battle Royale shooter Apex Legends. They also opened a second studio at Vancouver to reportedly work on Jedi: Fallen Order sequel.
