Dead Island 2 Could Be Released by March 2023

After being announced back in 2014, upcoming survival horror game Dead Island 2 has been in development cycle for several years and publisher Deep Silver have replaced original developer Yager Development with UK studio Sumo Digital.

As industry insider Tom Henderson claimed earlier, development for Dead Island 2 is currently in a decent state and maybe released in Q4 2022. Moreover, a recent investor Q&A session has even teased a launch window set for March 2023.

Deep Silver parent company Embracer Group have addressed Dead Island 2 recently during an earnings presentation and their representative discussed whether it is still in works and hinted at a possible release in company's next fiscal year.

Carnegie equity research analyst Oscar Erixon claims that it's still alive and is expected to arrive by forthcoming fiscal year, which will be closing on 31st March, 2023, while Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors said that he couldn't talk much about it.

Wingefors also states that Deep Silver has one unannounced AAA title that fans believe is Dead Island 2 and he is excited about it. Without officially confirming anything, Embracer Group has apparently teased at a re-reveal by publisher soon.

Dead Island 2 is currently under development at Dambuster Studio, who replaced Sumo Digital back in 2019. A job listing on official website has hinted at a cross-gen launch for PC as well as previous and current generation of console earlier.
