Shortly after Microsoft announcing a buyout of video game publisher Activision, fans begin to speculate, whether Call of Duty first-person shooter franchise will be released for PlayStation consoles anymore once their contract expires.

Even though Activision is taking a break in Call of Duty annual release cycle for next year, new report claims that Call of Duty 1, 2 and World at War may be getting remastered in an attempt to make up for absence of a mainline release.

Activision apparently wants to fill up "empty space between premium" Call of Duty releases in coming years with classic remasters. According to reputed leaker RalphsValve, Call of Duty 1, 2 and World at War gets remastered treatment.

RalphsValve also adds that Activision is seemingly working on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare remastered for Nintendo Switch handheld. However, they didn't mention any possible release window for any of these projects to hit stores.

Call of Duty leaker RalphsValve claims, Call of Duty 1, 2 and World at War remaster is coming very soon.

An early blog post by Microsoft has teased their interest in supporting "Nintendo's successful platform". Whether they want to release Call of Duty for Switch or a future Nintendo console are yet to be revealed by company executives.

Call of Duty 1, 2 and 2008's World at War are coincidentally all set during World War II, much like Call of Duty: Vanguard. It could be a little off-putting for many newcomers and old-school veterans to go back to theatres of WWII again.
