A recent report by industry insider Tom Henderson reveals that Ubisoft is currently working on an unannounced Prince of Persia game. It will be a 2.5D game that took inspiration from Moon Studios' acclaimed Metroidvania platformer Ori.

Ubisoft Montpellier team is reportedly developing the project along with other internal studios. Prince of Persia 2.5D game is probably one of their 20 games that are being lined up for a major Ubisoft Forward digital event in coming months.

Montpellier studio has previously handled games like Rayman and Valiant Hearts for Ubisoft as well. Meanwhile, the French publisher maybe waiting to release another Prince of Persia game before showing off Sands of Time remake again.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake is still in active development, despite rumors of getting cancelled. Other than a 2.5D Prince of Persia game, Ubisoft is also working on Assassin's Creed Rift and a sequel title to Immortals: Fenyx Rising.
