Marvel's Spider-Man Mod Lets You Play as Doctor Octopus

While anticipating release of upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in 2023, fans are still exploring 2018 superhero action-adventure game Marvel's Spider-Man by developer Insomniac Games and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment.

A recently revealed mod for Marvel's Spider-Man lets players to scour through the expansive open-world of New York City as sinister villain Doctor Octopus instead of everyone's favorite wall-crawling costumed hero and fight crime.

Known modder jedijosh920 has uploaded a new video YouTube, showcasing their latest mod for Marvel's Spider-Man game, a re-skin of Spidey's character model with Doc Ock which still has his mechanical tentacles hanging around.

Alternatively, another version would allow you to play as Otto Octavius without his menacing tentacles. He engages in hand-to-hand combat with members of Inner Demons gang wearing Spider-Man suits over rooftops and on a park.

jedijosh920 shared a brief gameplay footage of Doc Ock mod for Marvel's Spider-Man on PlayStation 4.

Being a primary antagonist, Octavius mimicking Spidey' movesets by doing backflips, jumping off buildings and performing 360° roundhouse kicks on his enemies through various in-game location in his middle-age is outright hilarious.

Other than defying rules of physics and breaking the game a little bit, Octavius's tentacles do nothing more and just hangs over by side. Jedijosh920's mod has yet to fix Otto's standing T- pose and him often yelling "PETER" at nobody.

jedijosh920 previously swapped up Spidey with one of his major villain, Kingpin in a mod that allows him to move with full agility. Compared to Doc Ock mod, Wilson Fisk stomping around and web-slinging across NYC is pretty comical.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 may eventually bring back Doctor Octopus once again, as a secondary antagonist alongside Kraven and Venom. He may even end up taking over Peter's body, much like Superior Spider-Man from Marvel Comics.
