Dead Space Remake Changes Weapon Sounds Following Fan-Feedback

An official 2023 release window for upcoming highly-anticipated remake of 2008 sci-fi horror game Dead Space has been announced by developer Motive Studios and publisher Electronic Arts back in March, for all major platforms.

Motive released a video clip earlier showcasing weapon sounds for Dead Space Remake, which lead to some fan-backlash. A month later, dev team has adjusted some of those sound effects after some negative community feedback.

Dead Space remake weapon sounds have been altered by Motive to be more similar to original game based on recent fan-feedback. A new video showcase how Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifle sounds a lot different than previous demo.

Players have apparently approved of new weapon sounds with praise and thanked Motive for actually listening to them. Other than gun sounds, dev team is also bringing back original Isaac voice actor Gunner Wright for the remake.

Community manager Caden House has shared a comparison video of new weapon sounds on Reddit lately.

Motive confirms that protagonist Isaac Clarke will have more dialogue than earlier and his lines may change based on his current situations or emotional state during the game but he will be relatively quiet throughout hallway scenes.

Dead Space and its subsequent sequels were praised for their atmospheric horror elements in deep space against deadly Necromorphs. EA Motive listening to fan-feedback is a good sign for players who want to relive that experience.
