Grand Theft Auto 4 No Longer Selling on Steam

Over the weekend, Rockstar Games has pulled off selling for PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV on Steam, for now.

Almost like every other game from Grand Theft Auto series by developer/publisher Rockstar Games, 2008 action-adventure title Grand Theft Auto IV has made headlines for controversy and sold out millions of copies over its lifetime.

Most recently, GTA IV has been restricted from purchase for players on PC digital distribution storefront Steam without any prior announcement because the game is not supported on Games for Windows Live platform anymore.

A technical issue arises lately upon Microsoft deciding not to continue supporting a prominent online gaming feature that allowed players to cross-play between PC and Xbox 360 and for which, GTA IV was originally created for.

Now that their service is no longer available, Rockstar Games can't generate keys anymore to sell the game. Currently, they are considering any viable option to digitally distribute Grand Theft Auto 4 on PC once again in future.

Rockstar has released an official statement on inquiry of what made them take such a step all of a sudden.

Grand Theft Auto IV was originally created for the Games For Windows Live platform. With Microsoft no longer supporting Games For Windows Live, it is no longer possible to generate the additional keys needed to continue selling the current version of the game. We are looking at other options for distributing GTAIV for PC and will share more information as soon as we can.

After a marketplace shutdown notice back in 2013, Microsoft officially discontinued Games for Windows Live a year later. Although it was accessible through Steam, many developers have removed its system integration over time.

Rockstar has made sure that no one can buy a copy of GTA 4 on Steam but a product page is still up there and this latest issue with Windows Live services following its demise will now affect sales of its PC version on similar outlets.

Last year, players faced issues regarding soundtracks for the title and developers stepped in to disable in-game music. Even though many have found ways to avoid losing access to licensed songs, similar treatment may arise for its sequels.

There have also been rumors of a planned remake or remastered version of GTA IV and its expansions to make them playable on modern consoles but it seems like Rockstar is more concerned with Grand Theft Auto VI right now.

Despite its sequel Grand Theft Auto V being one of the best-selling games of all time, there are still many who are in love with journey of protagonist Niko Bellic trying to find his place in Liberty City and would love to keep playing.

Rockstar Games launcher for PC made its debut nearing end of last year and players are heavily speculating that they simply removed Grand Theft Auto IV from Steam and other digital platforms to add the title to their own launcher.

WB Montréal Teased New Batman Game Again

Nowhere near reveal yet, WB Games Montréal teases fans with another image for next Batman game.

There has been a rumor of developer WB Games Montréal secretly working on a Batman game for some time since 2018 that is loosely based on 2011 DC Comics storyline Batman: Court of Owls and is set within Arkhamverse.

After some back and forth teasing for last two years, WB Montréal is back at it again in 2020 with a new logo they posted on social media and even left a clue for legion of fans to seek its meaning of by simply writing "/redacted".

According to curious player community, previous set of logos represents Amanda Waller, Court of Owls, Ra's Al Ghul and Suicide Squad. Before they get to a full official reveal of Batman: Arkham game, there will most likely be another tease.

All of these parties have gone after the Caped Crusader on more than one occasion in history of comic-books. Putting them all together into one game is probably vital to an overarching narrative like previous games of Batman franchise.

WB Montréal posts "/redacted" in caption of a Tweet that is a clue to visit their official website for a larger image.

Judging by its appearance, the logo seems to be representing a top-secret project of United States Army known as The Colony. They led by Jacob Kane, father of Kate Kane AKA Batwoman and were introduced in the beginning of DC Rebirth.

Considering how WB has been emphasizing on a tagline "Capture the Knight" from start, this newly revealed faction nicely fits into the memo that suggests that several different groups are trying to hunt The Dark Knight for some reasons.

Following original rumor that spread around from an owl emblem on a black T-shirt worn by an assistant producer of WB Montreal, there was heavy speculation that a surprise reveal will take place at major gaming events but nothing happened.

Filling out five of all six circles now leave place for only one more, which can possibly be an owl insignia for Court of Owls that assistant producer Valerie Vezina was wearing in a photo she shared on her Twitter handle two years ago.

Piecing these pieces of puzzles through teaser images only hints that upcoming Batman game would feature major factions of Gotham City and it will be significantly long compared to any previous installment of Arkham games.

A reputed leaker claimed the title to be "Batman: Arkham Legacy" and will have a fully playable Bat-Family. It may come out during release of next-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X but will be available on current-gen hardware.

Job Listing Suggests Jedi Fallen Order Sequel in Development?

Latest job postings from Respawn Entertainment hints at a possible sequel of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Despite having claimed that "single-player games are dead" for years, publisher Electronic Arts has finally been proven dead wrong with latest release of action-adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order back in November 2019.

Many longtime fans believe this third-person experience to be one of the best Star Wars video games till date and according to recent job postings by developer Respawn Entertainment, Jedi: Fallen Order may be getting a sequel.

Respawn is currently looking for hiring a Level Designer, Senior Character Artist and Senior Software Engineer for their Star Wars team to work on a third-person action/adventure game, which clearly fits with Fallen Order.

Of course a new vacancy announcement simply gives no assurance of anything about a new project or an approach to a direct sequel definitively but in many cases, it turns out to be exactly that when a confirmation comes later.

RELATED: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Wins Game of The Year at The Game Awards 2019

Jedi: Fallen Order has already broken sales records for Electronic Arts in less than a month. Brand Strategy Director for Respawn, Charlie Houser states that their team would love to continue the journey of Jedi Cal Kestis in future.

In spite of having some very minor gameplay issues and needless cosmetic upgrades, fans were simply happy to enjoy a Star Wars experience from EA after long time that doesn't contain any greedy micro-transaction schemes.

RELATED: Jedi: Fallen Order is Very Similar to Sekiro

Disney gave license to make games based on Star Wars universe to EA back in 2013 and it would last for another four more years at least. Given their recent success of Fallen Order, that contract can easily be renewed for an extended period.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. If a possible sequel from Respawn ever happens, it will probably launch on next-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
