Catherine Classic on PC Out Now

Sega introduces the PC port for action-adventure puzzle title of 2011 as Catherine Classic, available now on Steam.

It was only a week ago when publisher Sega decided to tease players of the upcoming release of Catherine on PC platform through the News tab of the Steam page for Bayonetta, which was then confirmed shortly after by an ESRB Rating.

Today, the critically and commercially successful 2011 puzzle platformer from Japanese developer Atlus has made its way to the digital storefront of Steam and Humble Store, debuting on Windows PC as Catherine Classic, a port to the original console release.

The recently launched port has received a several upgrades over the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 console versions. Players can unlock the frame rate while enjoying the nightmare quests in 4K resolution with now customizable controls for a better experience.

Also, the game offers you to choose between English and Japanese-language voiceover, something that was not a part of Western release in the past. Catherine Classic is priced $19.99 only and comes with all three original game modes.

Although you get to play the story campaign and enjoy the two existing multiplayer modes, Atlus decided not to include an online multiplayer feature, which they plan on to include on the remastered version of the game, Catherine: Full Body with a third character named Rin.

Full Body will come out later at some point on 2019 and the Western version of the game will only be launched on PlayStation 4. Catherine takes you to a twisted journey of love, betrayal and the terror of a romantic thriller of protagonist Vincent between three women in his life.

First they gave up open-world survival-adventure Subnautica from Unknown Worlds Entertainment, then there was indie platform title Super Meat Boy from Team Meat and now they are offering first-person adventure game What Remains of Edith Finch for free!

The player character will be exploring deaths of several members of Finch family in their long abandoned house. You ought to take the role of deceased family members died in bizarre and tragic ways years ago while investigating the blight that befall upon them.

Even though the title plays out in a slow paced motion where players are on a quest to discover how a generation died of unnatural causes while reliving those memories and having Edith Finch narrating the events that took place prior gives out a lot of creepy vibe, this is still not a horror game.

Catherine on PC Confirmed by ESRB

After teasing on Steam, a recently revealed ESRB rating confirms that puzzle platformer game Catherine is coming on PC.

Before Catherine: FullBody was announced for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita as a remaster version of the 2011 puzzle platformer Catherine by developer/publisher Atlus, the original title was also available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Recently, an image of a Sheep with its tongue out was posted on the news section of the Steam page for action-adventure title Bayonetta by publisher Sega and people took it as a hint of Catherine coming to PC but it was later confirmed by an ESRB Rating.

catherine pc confirmed esrb rating sega
Catherine on PC Confirmed by ESRB

Even though there was no solid confirmation, fans were quick to point out that Catherine is coming to PC seeing the sheep on the site and taking it as a messenger. What the curious players want to know now is which version of this puzzle adventure game are they getting?

The game gets a Mature 17+ rating from ESRB for most obvious reasons like having partial nudity, sexual themes and strong language within its content but people already knew that. The updated version, Catherine: Full Body has additional contents that have everyone interested in it.

To simplify things, we took a look at the Australian Classification Board rate for the game where it is titled as "Catherine Classic", which most likely to suggest that this one is the 2010 release version and it was submitted by Sega as well.

Having to re-release a game when they are already developing an updated version is pointless but is it because the company wants to keep Full Body as a Sony consoles exclusive while re-launch the original on Nintendo Switch, PC and Xbox One?

It doesn't sound simply anymore, does it? If Atlus wanted, they could simply make the game backwards compatible on Xbox One. Or maybe they are doing this because they wanted to avoid confusion among fans on which version are they getting by renaming it.

It could also be that Catherine Classic will add the newly introduced third girl named Rin and new endings for her but will not include the many newly developed animated cut scenes and content from Catherine: Full Body. We hope an official announcement clear this out soon.

Joker from Persona 5 Comes to Catherine: Full Body

Catherine: Full Body introduces Persona 5's Phantom Thief, Joker as a playable character in latest trailer.

Not long after the announcement of adding Joker from role-playing game Persona 5 to crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at The Game Awards 2018 as the 76th fighter of the game, developer/publisher Atlus came forward with more plans for him.

Joker will be a part of Catherine: Full Body, which is an upcoming remastered version of 2011 puzzle platformer video game Catherine from the same company, currently scheduled to release on February 14, 2019 for Japan only.

Joker, the protagonist from the popular JRPG title will be a playable character and his involvement to the fray was announced back in September 2018 along with a few other related contents and the gameplay video was meant to display his playing style.

Whereas we usually see Vincent trying to climb his way to the top of never-ending series of towered blocks, the Phantom Thief makes it look easier with precision and his quick speed, which make it seems like he is meant for solving this sort of haunted puzzles.

Catherine: Full Body adds a brand-new character Rin to cause a friction between two other main characters, Catherine and Katherine. She is a pianist from Stray Sheep and players can choose from 11 different vocals to be her voice in the Japanese release.

Aside from teasing his appearance, Atlus never revealed whether the game will arrive on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita worldwide same time as they will on Japan or would come at a later date. Same can be said about the arrival of Joker in a DLC when the game finally launches.

Limbo and Inside Coming to Nintendo Switch

Two of the puzzle-platformer games from recent years by developer Playdead are heading to Nintendo Switch later this month.

Two of the most popular yet underrated puzzle-platformer video games of recent times from Danish developer Playdead are Limbo (2010) and Inside (2016). After conquering every other major gaming platform like iOS, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, these titles are currently available on a few other devices as well. Now, the only place they needed to step on is Nintendo Switch and Playdead is bringing them on Nintendo's next gen console next week, on June 28.

Back in 2010, the developers released Limbo as a black-and-white 2D platformer through Xbox Live Arcade and it has managed to garner positive reviews despite lacking a minimal story background. Because of an impressive sales record, the game was then ported to literally every other modern gaming platform including Android, iOS, Linux and Mac. Then a seven years gap took in before Inside debuted on Xbox One exclusively a week before PC and fellow consoles as its spiritual successor.

The success of the first game made an impact to people's mind about what they are about to get in a follow-up game and Inside was praised even more for creating a compelling platforming experience with improved art, subtle plot and portrayal of a world shrouded in darkness. Inside has toned down the gory parts and delivered a lesser graphic rendition of events. Moving away from its predecessor's solid monochromatic color schemes, it chose to slightly highlight parts of the surrounding.

The Switch release announcement was recently made by Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu on Twitter, which developer Playdead has Retweeted later to confirm.

Following the E3 2018 press conference, list of upcoming Nintendo games announced for Switch is growing exponentially. Amidst the middle of battle royale game Fortnite heading to this console and Mario Tennis Aces releasing a multiplayer demo, ports from Playdead seemed to be forgotten until Famitsu reminded it to everyone. Besides, any of Limbo and Inside were never been ported to any Nintendo hardware and given their history of releasing for every available console, it was only about time they head to Switch.

Catherine: Full Body E3 2018 Trailer

Causing controversy with reveal trailer, Catherine: Full Body E3 2018 trailer seems to have ‘matured’.

Raising eyebrows and questions back in December 2017 upon an announcement for a remake of 2011's puzzle platformer adventure title Catherine, Atlus and Studio Zero has been quiet for some time for their upcoming game Catherine: Full Body for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. E3 2018 brought us so many new reveal of exciting titles from various big-name developers and publishers, which was no exception for Atlus as well and a latest trailer is released for the remake lately.

Since we are way past initial tease, the new E3 trailer focuses more on the story and less on the naughtiness. Still there is some as it is one of the base aspects of this game.

RELATED: Catherine: Full Body Reveals New Catherine

When Full Body was announced and players saw the reveal, everyone learned that there is a third "Catherine" and judged by all the in-game hints came to the conclusion that she is a trans-woman. Although she is not the only trans character in the game, it quickly sparked a lot of criticism from fans and critics. However, Atlus did not clarify that by releasing any official comment and lets it remain as a mystery to find out later. Fortunately, this trailer moves past Rin’s identity.

Already caught in dilemma of having Catherine and Katherine in his life, Vincent Brooks is torn with his feelings and moral decision, where most of the focus of the whole footage was. The love triangle he was tangled in has now become a square now that pianist Rin from the Stray Sheep bar has also fallen for him and it is getting harder keeping track of all these affairs. Then there is characterized sheep, conspiracy, murder, nightmare realm creating a complex puzzle around his life.

Taking note from past backlash, Atlus tactfully avoids the entire topic and tries to intrigue us to this adult adventure by giving glimpses at other features. We think, if there is a twist regarding Rin’s character, it may turn out interesting. The other trans-woman is waitress Erica Anderson from Stray Sheep, where Vincent hangs out with his friends very often. Catherine: Full Body will be released on 2019 America and Europe but we are still missing a specific date.

The Wolf Among Us Season 2 Delayed to 2019

Telltale Games is delaying The Wolf Among Us Season 2 to 2019 because of fundamental changes at studio.

Developer Telltale Games have done a splendid job adapting comic-book writer Bill Willingham (Day of Vengeance, Justice Society of America)'s Fables comic book series from DC Comics's Vertigo imprint into one of their epic fantasy interactive episodic graphic adventure. Following the immense success of Season 1, Telltale announced for The Wolf Among Us Season 2 back in July, 2017. It was scheduled to release on 2018 but unfortunately that date is pushed back to 2019 now.

Fans that were eagerly waiting for the latter half of 2018 to see Season 2 of the game probably are a little bit pissed when almost one year after the initial announcement they get to know this shocker! Clearly this should upset many players because we rarely had any follow-up news from the creator studio about its development and now, suddenly out of the blue we get to know that, we should wait another year. That kind of sucks!

RELATED: Telltale’s Walking Dead Collection Announced

Although Telltale have mentioned about the issue recently stating, this inconvenience is totally unintentional and is because of some essential changes since they announced the title last summer. While that doesn't seem like anything big but it can mean that there might be a change of gameplay which will be introduced this time. Plus, they said, the studio will invest this extra time in improving quality and experiment with this project. Does that make any sense to you now?

There is another fact that could possibly be the reason for this delay and it is, the studio laid off 25 percent of their workforce, which is a total of 90 employees. The company responsible for making critically acclaimed games like Game of Thrones, Minecraft and The Walking Dead, has decided to move forward with a smaller team to deliver a fewer but better quality video games in future. Whether or not this restructuring has helped them in their goal, it can be partially responsible for setbacks in their deadline.

Bill Willingham’s award-winning Fables worked out amazingly fine with Telltale Games' unique format of storytelling with The Wolf Among Us. Season 1 comprising five-episode was released back in 2013 for every playable platforms like Android, iOS, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. So, we can only hope that the second Season will probably do the same as well.

Batman: The Enemy Within Have Two Different Endings

One thing fans of Telltale Games would agree without a doubt is that the developer has re-invented if not mastered the point-and-click adventure games of modern times and with each new releases, they prove it time after time. The studio did a great job tinkering with the established folklore of DC Comics' most iconic hero Batman in Batman: The Telltale Series in 2016 and the sequel Batman: The Enemy Within in 2017.

Batman: The Enemy Within Have Two Different Endings

Batman: The Enemy Within is the second season of Telltale's attempt of re-creating the legends of The Dark Knight for gamers. The first season and the already released episodes of season two is doing exceptionally well so far. We all are now waiting for the season finale and it is going to be released on March 27, drawing conclusion to another thrilling chapter of Bruce Wayne/ Batman trying to save Gotham City from the rampant criminal society.

RELATED: Batman: The Enemy Within Episode Five Release Date

The developers and studio is very excited about the final episode as it just doesn't give it a closure but also because this one is the greatest piece of content they have created for the series till date. Telltale's stories are different than any of the stories from DC Universe as they take a unique dig at the saga and the latest twist they added to the list is to create their own version of The Joker.

When he was first discovered by Bruce Wayne in Arkham Asylum as a former patient named John Doe. He didn't become the Clown Prince of Crime back then but his past was anything but clouded. However, he had a deep admiration for Bruce Wayne and just wanted to be his best friend more than anything. He even introduced Bruce to The Pact, a small gang of super-criminals consisting Bane, Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze.

RELATED: Batman: The Telltale Series Tie-In Comics "Sins of the Father"

Just because John Doe was way far from becoming The Joker at that point, many actually started rooting for him. It was a very bold move from Telltale to even pitch the idea of this pale skinned and green haired individual having any sort of friendly relationship with Bruce Wayne because of many Batman fans would start ranting about it immediately but all things worked out fine in the end. Instead of beating him up and taking him back to Arkham, players tried to guide him through Bruce's character.

Since one of the nature of episodic graphic adventure games are the ending and many other aspects of a game changes depending on your actions, your approach towards John Doe in The Enemy Within will shape up his character in the endgame. Whether or not you want him to be Harley's boyfriend or bring down his criminal endeavors, it's all up to you. The way you treat him will shape The Joker of tomorrow.

The finale episode will reach to a certain point with every loose ends and John Doe will either transform into a Vigilante or Villain. If he turns out evil, then you already know that he is destined to become Batman’s arch-nemesis. The end of their friendship will set him nuts and he will wreck havoc on Gotham. Although, The Joker becoming a vigilante would like to team-up with Batman to eradicate all crime from the city.

We better not go any deep with this than we did, because the final episode is dropping within two weeks and you probably wouldn't like the story to be spoiled. You should play the episode titled "Same Stitch" when it is finally released for Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and mobile devices on March 27 to find out the epic conclusion yourself. The fifth episode contains three and a half hours worth of content and with a few variations of outcomes, it can be even longer.

Batman: The Enemy Within Episode Five Release Date

Developer Telltale Games have done a great job recreating the legends of Batman with inspiration taken from the source materials of DC Comics and adapted a new version of the character where the players build their own saga as they progress further in each episode of the game. Telltale has officially announced the release date for the fifth and final episode of Batman: The Enemy Within titled "Same Stitch".

As you know that previously made choices will shape-up things for you in Batman: The Enemy Within, a huge turn-of-event awaits the finale depends on how you reaped your steps in the past episodes. We are talking about a twist of the character John Doe, who is destined to become Batman's arch-nemesis The Joker. Based on your actions in prior episodes, John Doe will evolve and whether or not he becomes a problem for Bruce Wayne still remains a question.

We are dropping the official episode description of Batman: The Enemy Within's Season Finale below for you to take a look at.

"What would you choose: a friend whose unhinged approach to justice turns your allies against you, or a sworn enemy who will stop at nothing to see you suffer as your city burns? Based on the relationship you’ve built with John Doe, you'll see one of two very different stories play out. So what’ll it be, Bruce: friend...or foe?"

We believe, John Doe will either become the maniacal Clown Prince of Crime we know him to be or an unlikely ally for Batman/Bruce Wayne that we have never seen before. Telltale already planned out two different ending for the story and developed over 4,500 lines of dialogue for 38 characters from the episode. Amanda Waller of the Agency, Bane, Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze may appear in supporting role of the story as well.

Season Finale of Batman: The Enemy Within, "Same Stitch" will be out on March 27, to play on Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and mobile devices. With that, Telltale's second season of episodic point-and-click graphic adventure based on The Dark Knight will come to an end. Judging by the very positive reception from the fans, Batman: The Telltale Series is much likely to return with a third season, where we will see the Caped Crusader in more actions and tackle more bad guys.
