What many fans from today do not know is that Onimusha: Warlords was originally planned as a spin-off title of their survival horror flagship series of Resident Evil. They initially planned to set the game on a mansion with booby traps and hidden passages with ninjas lurking around in every corner to take you down. However, they eventually decided to go on a different path and we got a good game instead of a disaster. The fixed camera angle feature is the one aspect that remained though.

The list may be a major let-down for fans of Metal Slug, The Last Blade or Samurai Shodown series but their official website says, they will announce more games in forthcoming days. If not those big-name games, then at least Garou: Mark of the Wolves should make it to the list then. Otherwise, it would seem that in the name of an anniversary collection, they are simply trying to rip-off players with some of their old-school games that many don't even care about and make a quick buck.

Last year, King of Fighters XIV from one of their flagship series has done exceptionally well and SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is also expected to win the hearts over. Considering how they have decided to port their popular games to modern day consoles, SNK is slowly coming back to the game and probably would return to take their throne in fighting games genre once again whether or not SNK 40th Anniversary Collection turns out to be a hit.
