New BioShock Game in Development by Cloud Chamber

2K Games confirms new BioShock game being developed by Cloud Chamber under their publishing label.

Last year, a leak from news editor Jason Schreier of video game website Kotaku suggested that a new BioShock game titled "Parkside" was secretly being developed for some time in a studio under developer/publisher 2K Games.

Turns out that leak was very much legit and recently, 2K has officially confirmed that one of their newly-formed internal game development studios, Cloud Chamber is working on next chapter of BioShock for years indeed.

Currently operating from bay area of San Francisco and Montreal, Qu├ębec offices, new studio head Kelley Gilmore stated in a news release that it will still take a few years to complete the project but didn't confirm a target platform for launch.

Gilmore has 22 years of industry experience and used to work on Sid Meier's Civilization and XCOM series. Cloud Chamber now joins 2K family of studios like 2K Silicon Valley, Cat Daddy Games, Firaxis Games, Hangar 13 and Visual Concepts.

President of 2K, David Ismailer says the following about critically praised BioShock series in same statement.

Since next-generation of consoles from Microsoft and Sony are coming next year, it is highly likely for them to release the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett with a probable inclusion or exclusion of PC platform for future.

According to reports, upcoming BioShock title actually went under development phase back in 2015 but was rebooted later and started once again in 2017, when 2K Games finally decided to employ an in-house studio to get the job done.

Given the timeframe for this news to come out all of a sudden, players can hope to get some sort of reveal or official tease through an image at Sony's State of Play presentation soon or at The Game Awards 2019 within a few days.

It's been six years since BioShock Infinite came out in 2013 as last release of the series and old-school fans are still waiting for a new game. However, neither 2K Games nor Cloud Chamber has confirmed if next BioShock game would be a mainline title.

So, we are picking titles from every sort and not limiting ourselves to just spooky titles. Also, any game you pick from this Halloween Sale 2018 will get you Murderous Pursuits for FREE too!

The cheapest game you can find within this huge bonanza is Friday the 13th: The Game for a 85% price off. Limbo and Zombi comes right next to it at 80%, whereas Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Amnesia: The Dark Descent is up for grabs at 75%.

Entire horror first-person shooter trilogy of F.E.A.R., F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and F.E.A.R. 3 come at 75% only. Bioshock: The Collection, Outlast, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5 (Standard or Gold Edition), Resident Evil 6 are part of the same deal.

We are not much sure about recommending Killing Floor, Soma, XCOM 2 and Zombie Army Trilogy from the same bid though. Both survival horror title Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster and original Resident Evil HD Remaster goes up on 60%.

The base game of Dead by Daylight has offered 50% and there is a bunch of add-on content from the game as well as Dying Light that put forward 33-35% at best. We leave these completely on you. Outlast 2 however, is a nice catch at a whopping 70%.

Titles like 7 Days to Die (64%), Dead Rising 4 (30%), For Honor (33%), Killing Floor 2 (67%), Prey (50%), Resident Evil 7 (35%) and Vampyr (33%) are either not worth going for at this reduction rate because they are worth the wait for a greater deal.

We also opted out from picking some of the games from the sale even though they had a serious discount slapped on them, simply because they weren't worth the bucks for this festive season. Nevertheless, you don't need to be influenced by us and can still pick them up if you really want to.

Speaking of which, Valve's digital distribution platform Steam has arranged a Halloween-themed sale that everyone who loves horror can enjoy. Basically any game that is dark and scary or has even a remote connection with either of those is in it and it runs from October 29 to November 1.

Currently, games like Darkest Dungeon, 7 Days to Die, Graveyard Keeper, Hunt: Showdown, Shadow of the Tomb Raider (we have no clue why), The Forest and We Happy Few are taking the their spot on top seller list.

Whereas titles such as Dead by Daylight, Dying Light, Killing Floor 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Rocket League (because of a themed seasonal event), Vampyr and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 remains at the bottom feeder position of that list.

Rest of the games from their assortment is a pure gold mine for any horror fans and some of those discount rates are a real Halloween treat for sure. Let us mention some of them and then decide yourself whether or not you agree with us. We are okay with that.

In terms of great deal of price cut, we would like to mention Alien: Isolation, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, BioShock Remastered, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition, Dead Island Definitive Edition and Friday the 13th: The Game.

We would also like to include Grim Dawn, Inside, Limbo, Metro Redux Bundle, Outlast 2, Prey, Resident Evil 7, The Evil Within and Zombie Army Trilogy. However, not all of the above mentioned games may are worth the bucks they are offering you now.

Our suggestion is that you get Darkest Dungeon (-70%), Killing Floor 2 (-67%) and L4D2 (-80%) from the top seller list for the best value of your money. Then if you are ready to spend more, we would like to add a few more, from which you can even drop some.

Whether you pick or leave Friday the 13th: The Game (-85%) is up to you but try to consider picking from Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Castlevania: LoS 2, Darksiders II, Limbo and Zombie Army Trilogy as all of these five games are on 80% off.

For 75% off, Alien: Isolation, BioShock Remastered, Metro Redux Bundle and/or Outlast 2 can be yours. Dead Island Definitive Edition and Grim Dawn both comes for a 70% discount, which we would consider a decent deal but leaving them behind won't be a crime either.

The perks of getting your hands into this seasonal sale is that not only you will be claiming some of the great games in your library but many of these titles are having limited time Halloween-themed event that has its unique appeal to this spirit of holiday.

New BioShock Game Reportedly in Development

Many gamers would agree that BioShock from developer 2K Games was a very unique entry among all other first-person shooter game franchises. 2007 saw the debut of the first game, then BioShock 2 came in 2010 and BioShock Infinite released in 2013. So, it's been five years since the last game of the series was released but we bet many fans are more than ready for a new installment at any time. With that, we currently have news that a new BioShock title is currently in development.

New BioShock Game Reportedly in Development

All the titles from the original series took place into the underwater city of Rapture, which was meant to be a utopia for elites. People become addicted to a substance called ADAM that grants superhuman abilities but also slowly drives them insane. Little orphan girls called "Little Sisters" were used to harvest ADAM and they were protected by giant robot like sentries nicknamed "Big Daddies". Third game of the series, BioShock Infinite took the adventure to the vintage sky city of Columbia.

News editor Jason Schreier for video game website Kotaku was recently working on a story with developer Hangar 13 about Mafia III, when he came to know about this information. There is a secret neighboring studio Parkside, currently working on an unannounced project and it is a new BioShock game. Now, this has come to many fans as relief as many of them thought that their series has ended with the fall of developer Irrational Games.

Although CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick has assured in 2015 that it wouldn't mean the end for BioShock series and they will continue it in future, they have not done anything convincing till date to back that up. However, it looks like Take-Two is making good on their word by bringing a brand-new BioShock game teaming up with publisher 2K Games. Already sold more than 25 million units, this steampunk first-person shooter was also being considered for a movie adaptation but ultimately failed though.

Officially, 2K Games have yet to confirm the validity of this news and there has been no statement from their end yet. With the release of BioShock: The Collection featuring remastered edition of BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the series made it's comeback in 2016 but that was it. There was no more news from them ever since and the entirety of this franchise are put into ice. If they are truly bringing back the series, then we would love to see them explore some new location for their fictional paradise this time.
