Halo 3 Player Beats Game on Legendary Difficulty, Using Guitar Hero Controller

YouTuber ATwearkingYoshi took challenge to beat Halo 3 in "Legendary" difficulty playing with Guitar Hero controller.

Hardcore gamers often try out new and old popular games to complete on highest set difficulty level or for a simple speedrun, to either break records previously set by other players or just to beat their personal best play.

In one such valiant effort, YouTuber ATwearkingYoshi has finally managed to beat full game Halo 3 on hardest difficulty setting Legendary, after dying too many times for months and using nothing but a Guitar Hero controller.

Contrary of traditional one, Guitar Hero and other controllers shaped in rock band related instruments are a challenge for players who are looking for beating a game in some of most non-conventional and ridiculous ways.

This particular method was used in past by players to complete hardcore games like Dark Souls and Dark Souls III. ATwerkingYoshi has beaten DS3 with guitar controller before and beat its final boss using just a dance pad.

Earlier this year, he even took his turn on latest From Software game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with Donkey Kong bongo controller, an action-adventure title that is known for being notoriously difficult for masses to complete.

It took him month-long attempts and dying 252 times in his entire gameplay walkthrough of Halo 3 campaign, which is quite understandable since he had to aiming, moving and almost all stuff with an unconventional control layout.

In anticipation of upcoming release of first-person shooter title Halo Infinite next year and Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to PC platform, many players are taking a trip back to memory lane and replaying older titles lately.

Hopefully, when all individual titles of MCC eventually comes to PC, there will be other takes by ATwerkingYoshi on its varied lineup of games and he will be able to come up with some insane new customization for his next Legendary run.

In 2007, the developers also separated from Microsoft Studios to become an independent company after working on Halo: Combat Evolved. On June 2018, they partnered up with Chinese internet giant NetEase following a $100 million investment by the latter to explore new directions.

Destiny 3 Reportedly in Development

According to leaked source on Reddit, developer Bungie is rumored to be working on Destiny 3 already.

The immense success of online-only multiplayer first-person shooter game Destiny from 2014 has led developer Bungie and publisher Activision to release a full sequel, Destiny 2 in 2017 that become an even bigger score than they ever hoped for.

Although D2 managed to become one of the most successful title of the year over consoles, it came to face some controversy and mixed reception regarding their third major expansion, Forsaken. Nevertheless, Bungie has been reportedly working on Destiny 3 already.

Even though it has been only a year that they came up with the latest sequel to the Destiny franchise, the developers are already on board with what to bring next on the table and looks like more than a few things are going to be changed for good.

Recently, Reddit user AnonTheNine, who has been a pretty reliable source for leaked news on the series, has shared some insights about the upcoming installment from the franchise. According to his claims, Bungie is making the game more hardcore and is going to be RPG-based.

The development is starting right now. Chris Barrett game director. Luke Smith still there in a big role.

Just know that D3 will be even more "hardcore-y" than Forsaken. And finally they're going to push the rpg side of the game.

RELATED: Bungie and Microsoft Considering Destiny 2 Cross-Play

Alongside other stuffs, AnontheNine has also mentioned about Europa to be featured as a playable location, which was first revealed back in 2013 through a concept artwork, even before the original Destiny was released.

He didn't detail about how or why the Guardians are using the force of Darkness but if it comes out as true then it will shift the series lore to a major change. Part of this has been noted in the ending of Destiny 2 and perhaps they are faced with a greater evil that forced the Guardians to ally with Darkness.

Although Reddit user AnonTheNine has been proven to be a trusted source for leaked insights because of his track record, there is still no official confirmation on the development of Destiny 3 and it would be wise to take the news with a grain of salt.

Also, there may not be an official announcement anytime soon as there was no mention of an esteemed timeline of release. When Destiny went into development phase back in 2010, it didn't come out before 2014, which means D3 is not going to launch before 2020 to 2021 at the very least.

Even though the decision they made with Destiny 2: Forsaken so far regarding story and marketing, has driven the fanbase mad over developer Bungie and publisher Activision, they still believe these exclusive contents can somehow appeal to players on PS4 but whether or not it does is still remains to be seen. Because, many of them agrees with their brethren from PC and Xbox community that exclusivity is anti-consumer despite it making the game more popular over their consoles.

PlayStation Plus free games lineup has picked up Destiny 2 and God of War 3 Remastered for the month of September 2018.

We are more than halfway through 2018 and have been enjoying some fine games this year from PlayStation Plus. In August, we had action-adventure video game Mafia III from developer studio Hangar 13 and action survival horror Dead by Daylight from Behaviour Interactive.

Other titles on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita were just as good. As the moth has come to an end, we are back again with more exciting news of new free games lineup for upcoming month of September.

The very first game in our list is a surprising arrival of course and it is the online multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny 2 from Bungie and Activision. In story campaign, you play as a Guardian of Light and a protector of the Last City, defending it from an invading Red Legion and its leader Dominus Ghaul.

However, players are more drawn towards the strikes and raids as well as other public events. A 24 hour free trial awaits you on PVE & PVP mode Gambit from Destiny 2: Forsaken.

What we have next is an action-adventure hack and slash game God of War III Remastered from Santa Monica Studio and Sony Computer Entertainment, parties responsible for the creation of 2018's blockbuster title God of War.

You play as titular God of War Kratos, who launches an all out attack on Olympian gods, primarily driven by vengeance over Zeus. Along with Gaia and Titans, he attempts to destroy everyone in his path with double-chained Blades of Exile to destroy Olympus for good.

You also happen to have a PlayStation VR bonus game Here They Lie, a first-person horror title from Santa Monica Studio that takes you to a city of nightmares. With mysterious creatures running around everywhere, you are on the run from it all while trying to figure out the secrets of the woman in yellow.

Then there is a party game as a PlayLink title, Knowledge is Power to entertain you for having a fun time with trivia questions and various challenges to test your wits.

Bungie and Microsoft Considering Destiny 2 Cross-Play

Developer Bungie and Microsoft are interested to add cross-play feature to online-only multiplayer shooter Destiny 2.

Developer studio Bungie has made a name for them with the success of multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny franchise and Destiny 2 has been quite triumphant as well. However, the game is allegedly dying and the company is doing their best to bring their players back. Aside from announcing their third expansion Forsaken, they are considering offering cross-play with D2 and since Microsoft is interested as well, it seems like a good opportunity to play it throughout a wide variety of platforms if not all.

After initially debuting on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the game shortly arrived on PC in 2017 only a month after. Players are all drawn into large, futuristic shared world where they play the role of a Guardian of good trying to protect The Last City from an invasion of alien warlord Dominus Ghaul and his Red Legion. Gamers have played the campaign over and over, while participating in many raids and timed community events in multiplayer mode, which is limited to respective platforms.

RELATED: Destiny 2: Forsaken Story Reveal

When asked about the possibility of introducing cross-play to their game, Steve Cotton and Scott Taylor from developer team stated that this is a concept they talk about frequently but currently there is nothing at works regarding this unique feature. Also, there is no chance of having this aspect added to the game before launch of Forsaken DLC. However, it seems that Bungie is very enthusiastic about introducing this feature to D2, we might not have to wait for too long to see it.

Xbox President Mike Ybarra also created a poll on Twitter last month seeking fan response on whether they want to see Destiny 2 get a shared platform gaming experience or not and he got 87 percent of response positive.

Destiny 2 cross-play is a long-cherished fanboy dream that needs to come true as soon as possible and Bungie has been very willing to come on board with that plan. However, things might take an interesting turn considering PlayStation is commonly regarded as the lead console for the series, who adds exclusive content for their platform in each expansion pack and their recent controversies of not willing to offer cross-play on PS4 has already put them in a sticky situation.

RELATED: Destiny 2 "Go Fast" Update Details

Sony faced major backlash regarding account restriction of Fortnite for other consoles and Bethesda has also called them out for not being friendly to make cross-play available on upcoming Fallout 76 game. They seem not to care if they lose players and keep the multiplayer to themselves as they have just sold over 80 million PlayStation 4 units till date. D2: Forsaken will debut on September 4 for all three major platforms and they all would be busy for some time enjoying the new DLC.
