Destiny 2 Nightfall Strike and Prestige Raid Will Change

Activision and Bungie presents multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny 2 has been doing pretty well since the release. The developers have made some significant changes to a part of Destiny and Destiny 2, the weekly Nightfall strikes. Since Nightfall strikes are considered one of the hardest in the game and has been receiving a lot of opinions lately, Bungie decides to shake things up a little alongside the difficulties of Prestige raids in upcoming updates.

In original Destiny, there was no timer in Nightfall and players could just wander around the whole time of the game to avoid enemies but when the sequel have introduced this new feature, that is no longer possible. Addressing this issue that raised a few controversies, Bungie decided to bring some change to it so that the glory it had back in the days are restored once again.

Destiny 2 Nightfall Strike Scoring

RELATED: Destiny 2 Crimson Days Event Announced

According to game director Christopher Barrett, when version 1.1.3 update for Destiny 2 will launch on February 27, players will see where the game is going from there. Strike scoring system of the game will also be changed a bit, so that you actually want to go looking for a kill instead of ditching them all the time. Like it or not, that's really good for your gaming spirit.

Destiny 2 Nightfall Challenge Card

When the update will go live, it will work somewhat like this:

  • The overall score of your group will include the solo scores of your team members, which will also show up in strike leaderboards. The performance of every single members of the team will be summed up to the score.

  • Only kills are what matters most to the score after the update. How often do you use your super abilities and generate Orbs of Light also counts though.

  • Playing it quicker will be rewarding for your score but if you take too much time, you only better your chances of lowering your score. For instance, if you already have spent 15 minutes into the game, you will only receive half the points. 18 minutes and you won't earn any more new points. So, finish the strike as early as possible.

  • It would be really painful to see your score diminished over time but considering everything else the same, if another team in the strike clears before you then they get higher score than yours.

Following the version 1.1.3 update, you will be able to earn Challenge Cards right after you complete a Nightfall game, which will only be applicable for the Prestige version of the strike. Players can now tune in their preferred difficulty settings using new modifiers (Arc/Solar Singe/Void) tied to these cards. These unique modifiers will either boost damage or help you score high despite your less damage rate.

Destiny 2 Inverted Spire Emblem

Bungie will introduce a special emblem to Nightfall strike for Destiny 2, which will generate an aura over the head of your Guardian on the display only if you can go beyond a certain score. Crossing that specific mark will not just raise Vanguard token drops by 25 percent but your entire fireteam will receive buff as well as you. However, before bringing all these changes to the update, the developer team wants to get more feedback on their current idea from players.

The Prestige mode for Eater of Worlds has been pushed to May and there is a five-month long lag with the Leviathan, which almost everyone is complaining about right now. The developers simply didn't want to release it as it currently is and they just wanted to add some flavors of their own to make it worth your time. Because, for the past couple of months, Bungie was working on it by testing out new ways to add difficulties and try to increase the replaying value of the raid.

Prestige Raids will also present different challenges to you every week and the challenges will vary each time. For example, you can be forced to undergo an entire raid with a specific gun for your guardian against deadly enemies. The objective of new Prestige mode here is to keep the players engaged by switching new weapons to your vault and more rewards to earn. This update isn't going to drop until May for all Leviathan raid though.

Released to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Destiny 2 became an instant hit and also was one of the most successful titles of 2017. Despite that, many in-game issues have been drawing players out of the game and Bungie is taking these new initiatives to attract back the gamers back in the fold to make it great again.

Destiny 2 Crimson Days Event Announced

Back in the time of online-based multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny, developer Bungie used to have Valentine’s Day-themed seasonal event Crimson Days. Now that Destiny 2 is the newest installment in the series that is immensely successful on all platforms and Valentine’s Day is coming next week, they are bringing the event back once again for this very special occasion to celebrate with the fans and let them have some fun too.

Destiny 2 Crimson Days Event Announced

Right before the big-day love, on February 13, Crimson Days event will be going live for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Much like the previous instance, it will be a competitive multiplayer mode for 2v2 matches on a Crucible map called The Burnout, previously known as the Burning Shrine. In these round-based Clash mode game, you should try to keep up with your teammate for quick recharge of your abilities.

Another reason to not get too far from your partner is that you will lose buff and your awaiting enemy will easily find you using a waypoint. Even if you get detached from your colleague for a while, there is a marker to guide you back again. This can be proven very handy when you are teaming-up with some random person for the lack of a partner in Destiny 2. The game has an efficient matchmaking system so that if you join the match solo, you can still find someone to partner up.

One of the primary perks of 2018's Crimson Days event is the chance of getting handful of cosmetic items. According to Bungie, completing the Crimson Days Crucible playlist firsthand will be the best way to earn rewards and the rewarding system is centered on single-character play. Most of the time, you will find rewards in a new Crimson Engram and there is a “knock-out” list to make sure that you don't end up having duplicate items like during The Dawning.

Aside from all these regular prizes, Bungie claims to have other special rewards that can only be achieved through certain means.

  • To get the Fire of the Crimson Days Emblem and the Tirastrella Ghost Shell, you have to finish five Crimson Days matches for completing “Welcome to Crimson Days” highlight and you have to pay Lord Shaxx a visit in the Tower.

  • The Undeterred Exotic Sparrow gun can be yours upon completion of Crimson Days Crucible playlist.

  • By completing Leviathan Raid or the Raid Lair: Eater of Worlds you can achieve the sick-looking Dieselpunk Exotic Ornament for Wardcliff Coil straight outta final chest.

  • Earn the Flaunting Dance Emote by finishing Nightfall Strike within the Crimson Days event week.

Regardless of your actions on Crimson Days, you and your partner will get an Illuminated Engram and a Crimson Engram as soon as you level up. Crimson Engrams are of course, not limited to this seasonal event of Destiny 2 and you can only achieve them from gameplay so that no one can claim for any attempt of forcing players to spend real-world money. From the in-game store Eververse, you can buy gears and items in exchange for Bright Dust, which will also be added to the “knock-out” list.

Since Crimson Engrams are not limited to Crimson Days, there's no cap on how many of them you can earn. However, there is a level cap for your Guardian and if you are a non-DLC owner, then it is 20. For those who own the Curse of Osiris DLC expansion will need to reach 25 to be eligible for level-up reward Engrams.

You can also consider Bungie being this much generous with Crimson Days to compensate the players for from last year’s The Dawning event, which saw quite a backlash from the disappointed fans. So, bringing back a popular Mercury-based map from the original Destiny was not a bad idea. Debuting on February 13, Crimson Days event will run for a week to come until February 20.

Destiny 2 Warlock Glitch Will Fix After "The Dawning"

Bungie's Destiny 2 has become one of the most successful games of the year 2017 but for the past few weeks, the game has been suffering from bugs and glitches. First there was trouble with their XP scaling system, the Curse of Osiris DLC faced complaints and now, they got another problem with the Crucible. Destiny 2 players have discovered a glitch in the Crucible's Mayhem mode which will let the Voidwalker subclass Warlocks to use their super attack for an unlimited number of times.

Destiny 2 Warlock Glitch Will Fix After "The Dawning"

Normally there is a certain period for cooldowns once you use your super attack, class abilities or grenades during play. This time phase however is significantly lessened while you are playing the Mayhem mode. So, the spawning of Super meters of your opponents is relatively faster than usual, making it harder for you to take them out. Obviously, the out of control in-game experience then becomes what the name of the mode suggests in the first place.

RELATED: Destiny 2 XP Scaling System Removed

While this limited time cooldowns were already too much to handle for some players, the glitch allows the Warlocks to use their Voidwalker subclass to use infinite amount of super and bombs. In Chaos Accelerant perk, you can overcharge your grenades and it lets the Warlocks make their bombs more damaging. After this was discovered, there has been a barrage of Nova Bombs to exploit the situation. As the issue was Bungie's responsibility to fix, they aren't banning anyone who is about to take advantage of the situation here.

Currently, there is a Destiny 2's seasonal event, The Dawning in progress where the Mayhem mode is letting this glitch to cause all sorts of chaos at the hands of the Warlocks. Developer Bungie has weighed in on this issue and announced that the bug is staying until The Dawning ends. Since the event will be ongoing up until Tuesday, January 9, we are not having that glitch fixed before 2018. Now, the developers are in a tight corner. As if they cancelled out the Mayhem mode for The Dawning, it will enrage the players and leaving the glitch as it is will do no good either.

Destiny 2 players are fed up on the developer studio for quite some times recently because of recent bug-ridden weeks, especially with the ones that are not being fixed even after their constant complaints. Bungie thought, with the release of the new Curse of Osiris DLC and two main patches, Destiny 2 will get back in the game but looks like they are not having any luck with that yet. Both Destiny 2 and Curse of Osiris DLC is currently available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One worldwide.

Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2 Becomes Best-Selling on 2017

As 2017 is nearing to the end, many console gamers are probably wondering how well their favorite games did on the market. Because, not all game that were released over the year didn't do very well as they were expected to and then there are titles that did exceptionally well. Recently, publisher Activision has revealed one such news regarding two of their most successful titles of the year over consoles; Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2.

Call of Duty: WWII single handedly brought $1 billion from worldwide release in November, which is pretty outstanding considering the last installment from Call of Duty series titled Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare failed to reach out expectations set by everyone on so many levels. Plus, Infinite Warfare is deemed as commercial failure and with the booming success of WWII, seems like Activision is getting back in the gear once again and the future of the series is safe for now.

They acknowledged that not only Call of Duty: WWII has earned them some big bucks, it also is the record-breaking bestselling console game for the company now. Call of Duty has always been a successful gaming franchise for the past nine years and with the impressive dominance of the recent entry of WWII, the series proved the power of its very own fan base once more. At the 2017 Game Awards, WWII was picked up as the contender for best multiplayer game.

The other game from the same banner this year, Destiny 2 is also doing very well ever since it came out. The game managed to satisfy the eager crowd who was anticipating for its release. According to Activision, it became one of the biggest PC launch upon making debut on Blizzard’s Battle.net. Though Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2 are developed by Sledgehammer Games and Bungie respectively, they both came out in market from the big banner of Activision, which actually proved pretty positive for the games in overall.

The publisher set another history on PlayStation 4 of being the #1 remastered collection with the release of The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Starting from November 28, Bungie is releasing a "Free Trail" for the game, so that you can try out and decide if you are willing to pay cold-hard cash for the goods. It's pretty exciting seeing the game is available for a free trial only mere months after its release and we surely aren't complaining.

In this trial, players are about to get access to play campaign missions on two of destinations; the European Dead Zone on Earth and the moon Titan. Crucible competitive multiplayer will also be open to explore but it will be limited to quickplay playlists only. You can join clans to earn more XP and also go solo if that is what you want. You are allowed to make character progression up to Level 7 out of 20. The great part about the trial is that it is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Just like every other free trial offer there is a discount offer and you get to transfer your progress to the full game if you decide to purchase the game in the end. Now, you should be very interested to purchase Destiny 2 during the free trial offer as it is giving you the best ever low-price deal of them all, which is just $26 regardless of your platform. Not even Black Friday or Cyber Monday offers of the year cannot beat that as the lowest rate that was offered for the game was $27.

You should keep in mind that the offer of discount deal following the free trial is only applicable for the actual game and not for special editions, or any other expansion pass. However, the offer from Bungie will be a big discount deal for PC version as the game will cost $39 on Battle.net.

There was an event to livestream for the upcoming DLC "Curse of Osiris", scheduled to be released on December 5 but was later cancelled. Recently, a discovery of an unexplained XP scaling system was made by a player and when brought to light, Bungie has totally removed it from the game but then changed it back and now players need more XP to level up. Many have been speculating this as a ploy to make people purchases Bright Engrams in-game with real money while the official announcement over this still waits.

Destiny 2 XP Scaling System Removed

Have you been feeling like that you are not gaining as much XP as you should earn while playing Destiny 2? We feel you there, because you are not the only one facing this problem. A lot of players taking part in the Public Events are among the crowd that felt the same dilemma with gaining XP. Thankfully, the developer team behind this awesome multiplayer first-person shooter has also admitted that they have noticed it recently after pointing it out.

Bungie also released an "Official Statement" on their site regarding the issue.

Seeing people's discomfort over the matter, Bungie has decided to shut down the previous system and now, players will see their XP earning rate as the game progresses all the time on the user interface. This way, they will know how much XP they are gaining against their activities on the go and it will be easy to decide if the procedure was up to mark. As soon as there will be any change or updates will be released, it will be officially announced.

While this is more like a minor change, many are making a big deal out of it. You may ask, why is that? Here is why. Well, according to many, it might also turn out to be a ploy by the devs to make people some spend real cash in-game to make purchase for those Bright Engrams, which you can no longer earn fast by playing. Plus, most of us haven't still forgotten the huge controversy regarding loot boxes and micro-transaction system in Star Wars Battlefront II.

Moreover, it wasn't something that everyone has easily noticed from the launch of Destiny 2. It took the keen-eyed observation of a dedicated Redditor to point out the issue and Bungie haven't take any steps deal with it from the very beginning until it was discovered by players. Doesn't that sound fishy to you since they are the ones who created the game and put it there in the first place?

Bungie on Destiny 2 PC Bans

Bungie's heavily expected online-only multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny 2 has launched on PC this October 24 and fans were pretty hyped about it. The game eventually released on that day to everyone's delight and what the internet saw the next day is many players are complaining that many of them has been banned from the game for apparent no good reason.

Some of them even came to speculate that the ban might be a result of them using many third party softwares like Discord and Open Broadcaster Software.

destiny 2 pc ban
Bungie Explains Destiny 2 PC Bans

The developer team at Bungie decided to shade some light on it and they did so by releasing a Blog Post on their official website. Addressing the ban issue, they claimed that so far, Bungie has banned over 400 players and it was not because of using any third party softwares. At this point, the ban might seem quite unjust and irrational to the players who were a victim of this.

So, being the developer responsible for this insanely popular franchise, Bungie took matters into their hands to calm down the folks and shared their official Blog Post regarding the ban on Twitter.

As the collective base of banned players took social platforms like Reddit, Twitter and many other online gaming forums claiming that the ban was due to the use of third party programs they all were using while playing Destiny 2. Primarily, they even made it up a theory for the ban spree because apparently, almost all of them were using some third party applications like Discord or OBS for stream overlays and chat services. Some even claimed that the ban is automatic and is within Destiny 2 after all.

On that point, official statement released in the Blog clearly says:

“ONLY BUNGIE CAN BAN A PLAYER AFTER A MANUAL INVESTIGATION”
To clear out the confusion and rumor regarding the claim and put it to a rest, developers of Bungie also mentioned that, this ban issue was solely related to people who were using tools that might threaten the shared environment for the game and nothing else. Also, the game cannot ban anyone, only Bungie can and they do it after they run a manual investigation.

destiny 2 pc
Destiny 2 PC Ban

They also updated their online statement with the fact that, Bungie is not going to ban people for using Discord, Xsplit, OBS, RTSS, etc. while playing Destiny 2. The developer team also addresses that they noticed the group of players that are unintentionally caught in this error will soon be unbanned.

Well, this popular franchise always finds itself on the center of social drama and given their previous history on that, it would've been quite surprising if they weren't any after this week’s PC launch of Destiny 2. However, you can be rest assured that all they are doing is to provide you a fair environment to share with countless other fans of the series, completely free of hackers and other internet scum.
