Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Gameplay Trailer

The new gameplay trailer for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales showcases how an ordinary card game has evolved into a great RPG adventure.

The dark world of Witchers and monsters you remember from The Witcher series of games by developer/publisher CD Projekt Red gets a spin-off in the form of an upcoming free-to-play collectible card game, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.

The game will feature cross-platform play and is currently scheduled to release for PC on 23 October. It will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 4 December, 2018. Recently, a gameplay trailer is released for this single-player role-playing strategy adventure.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales focuses on a prominent character that remains largely unexplored throughout the lore, Queen Meve of Lyria and Rivia. It helped the developers create a unique game yet maintain a link to The Witcher saga.

Those who have played Gwent: The Witcher Card Game before would recognize many aspects of these games pretty similar since it allows players to make moves on the vast area of the exploration map as Meve and her army.

Just like the world of Witcher, the maps are significantly bigger and filled with quests alongside events, locations and NPCs. By traveling around the world and encountering horrid creatures, you will gather supplies and resources necessary for your war camps.

You are to train your armed forces in camps where you need to upgrade them and boost their weapons before commencing into battles. Challenging conflict will present them during the campaign and epic battles will be fought where each action have consequences.

This anticipated card game is building a narrative-driven gameplay that offers various puzzles to solve and turn-based card battles. Even though that sounds like any typical game from the genre but the exploration to the expanded world of Witchers is an experience unlike any other.

Most of the card games are mostly an extension of games like Might & Magic VII or Magic: The Gathering. Thronebreaker however, takes inspiration from these classic digital card game titles and improves in overall to stand proud.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends to Replace Developers

Publisher Bethesda swaps original developer Dire Wolf Digital with a new studio for The Elder Scrolls: Legends.

Recently, a decision of changing developer team for their free-to-play collectible card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends is made. From 2017, Dire Wolf Digital has been working on the game and making it into what it is today. Starting from this year, the project will be handed over and Sparkypants Studios are the ones who are replacing the original developers. Bethesda Softworks are still remaining publisher for the game while the shift is in order and are directly involved into it.

According to their spokesperson, they are already quite ahead in building up a new version of TES: Legends for past few months under the direct supervision of Bethesda. Despite changing few aspects and designs, they assured that Legends will not experience any major revamp. Sparkypants have just built a new client for the game, made a couple of UI modifications, some minor changes in menus and visuals were done. This actually lets them to address balance issues better than before.

You can see that the redesigned board above still represents what Legends was to players from the very beginning. The Elder Scrolls: Legends Android, iOS, Mac and PC version will not be experiencing any major change to core game mechanics. Your previous collection will remain as it was and you can still get those same items from in-game store. Whatever slightest tweak they did was to alter the game's previous direction and access many of its untapped potential.

Obviously, this game has a large community that expects more and constantly making requests about things they want to see changed. Changing hands for a live game has its challenges but together, the new developer/publisher duo has made it out. Developing a brand-new client has given them flexibility to make more progress, adding new features, bug fixing and many other tasks in a fast pace. They will talk about future plans regarding TES: Legends when they finally arrive at E3 2018.

However, their publisher had no problem with Dire Wolf Digital and just wanted to change direction for future. As they swiftly head towards that road, the new developers want to create more opportunities for Legends to grow on a stronger foundation under the ever-watchful eye of Bethesda.

Hearthstone: The Witchwood Expansion Announced

Developer Blizzard Entertainment's free-to-play online collectible card game Hearthstone is getting an expansion with 135 brand-new cards. Titled "Hearthstone: The Witchwood", this expansion is the first of 2018 that will usher Year of the Raven. Though they have not stated any specific release date for it to arrive yet, The Witchwood pack will probably drop anytime before April 30.

The newly introduced 135 Hearthstone cards are themed on the haunted forest of Gilneas to fend off the spirits of Witchwood. There will be new type of cards and a shift from the usual gameplay mechanics to a new style. For example, if you are to build your deck with Baku the Mooneater or Genn Greymane, then you either has to own odd or even cost cards, so that the former will grant Hero Power upgrade and the latter will cost 1 Hero Power for the whole game for any class.

The Phantom Militia has the power of Echo, which allows you to play the card many times in the same turn depending on how much mana you are packing and this one is one of the many from the set. Though Rush card Militia Commander cannot attack the opponent's hero like Charge cards, they will attack other minions on a same turn. Before the expansion goes live, claim three card packs and a random Class legendary card for free just by logging into the game.




It also launches a single-player experience called Monster Hunts and it will start within two weeks of the release of the expansion. If you have played Kobolds & Catacombs then this mode may seem familiar to Dungeon Run to you. Players collect their loot bounties to upgrade a deck upon killing the bosses following eight progressively challenging fights for staying alive and exploring further into The Witchwood.

Hearthstone: The Witchwood expansion pack is priced only 49.99 and you can get a special 50 card pack bundle on pre-purchase. As an included bonus, you will also receive the exclusive In a Dark Wood card back and 20 more The Witchwood card packs.
