Kingdom Hearts 3 Tangled Trailer

Kingdom Hearts 3 sets Sora, Donald and Goofy to Kingdom of Corona from Tangled to meet with Flynn and Rapunzel.

With Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far seeing a successful run on PlayStation 4, players are preparing themselves and building hype for the upcoming action role-playing game Kingdom Hearts III, which is scheduled to be released on January 25, 2019.

Developer/publisher Square Enix is bringing back Sora and his gang consisting Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku for the twelfth installment of the series on PS4 and Xbox One. In the sideline, they are launching some exciting trailers related to the plot.

The newest trailer of Kingdom Hearts III explores the Kingdom of Corona from Disney animated movie Tangled from 2010.

Sora ended up on Corona with his friends only to come across Rapunzel, who just came out of the tower to see the outside world as Flynn Rider was climbing on it. The golden haired girl is then quickly confronted by plant-like creatures that Mother Gothel probably left behind to keep an eye on her.

Sweet talking thief Flynn points out that he can get her to the Kingdom but to him, Sora and his friends seem to be more accustomed for combat. So, they jump in to help and together they defeated all creatures. The trailer ends with Rapunzel saying "Best day ever!", just like she does at one point in the movie.

Another fun-filled Kingdom Hearts III trailer has just teased players with more exciting stories and it just keeps getting better each time. After crossing over with Big Hero 6, Frozen and Pirates of the Caribbean, bringing Tangled into the mix really set the bar on top.

The last mainline game from the series came out more than a decade ago and so many movies have come out in the mean time. Now that Disney has acquired Pixar, other popular franchise like Monsters, Inc and Toy Story came to play as well.

Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far Announced for PS4

A collection of 9-game from the long-running Kingdom Hearts franchise is coming to PS4 later this month.

Upcoming crossover action role-playing game Kingdom Hearts III from developer/publisher Square Enix is set for a release window of January 2019, aiming for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you are new to the series, chances are that you have a lot to catch up as this is the twelfth installment of the series.

However, Square Enix has made it easy to help you get hold of the complex timeline by announcing a collection of games into one titled Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far for PS4, coming on October 30, 2018.

Since the first game of the series was released in 2002, it has been difficult for fans to keep up with the story premise of Kingdom Hearts. The Story So Far collects every important piece together for the price of $39.99 and doesn't require anything else. Let's take a look at the games added to the compilation.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX

  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
  • Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final MIX
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics)

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue

  • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
  • Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage–
  • Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover (movie)

Although these are an assortment of old games you've played before, updates and minor changes are added along with HD graphics to deliver a refreshing experience to the fans. Even a feature-length film is also included in the package and it is available for pre-order now.

Unfortunately, they didn't announce an Xbox version of the collection and considering how the entire franchise has built up its legacy on PlayStation consoles throughout the years, players on Xbox are the ones who probably needed it the most to catch up with the adventures of Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy.

Until now, there hasn't been a single collection that offered every important part of the overall story and The Story So Far is the most complete bundle ever. Only problem it has is that the games are not listed in chronological order and there are no new content in it.

As you wait for Kingdom Hearts III to arrive and characters from Disney, Final Fantasy, Pixar and The World Ends with You to reunite on January 2019, you have two more months in between to get yourself introduced to the entire plot of the franchise and maybe try to figure out which comes after which.

Star Wars Battlefront II Progression System Revamped

The notorious progression system of the infamous first person shooter Star Wars Battlefront II from last year is going to go through some extreme changes. From developer EA Dice and publisher Electronic Arts, the game had the potential to become one of the most successful games ever tying with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi film of the new trilogy. An upcoming update dated for March 21 will bring change to heroes, weapons and ship upgrade.

RELATED: Star Wars Battlefront II Missed Sales Targets

One of the biggest differences between the progression system that is now running and the one that was intended for the game is Star Cards that you could randomly find in loot crates. To boost your stats, the cards are handy but as soon as the update drops, you won't have to look for these cards to shine. The Skill Points you will earn playing multiplayer for experience can be traded to get Star Cards. Then you can upgrade your character, class, weapon or ship as you wish.

RELATED: Star Wars Battlefront II Micro-Transactions Outrage

When the initial outrage regarding micro-transactions hit the social media before the launch of Battlefront II, EA removed any scope for spending real-world funds for loot boxes. So, this new update is good news for the fans, who thought using real currency for Crates will rob them off the true enjoyment. Now that those loot boxes can only be opened by stat points, the playing field is leveled and players can mount up credits and crystals to use as in-game currencies by only spending time playing the game.

According to EA, the loot boxes will not contain any Star Cards and nor they are up for purchase with real-world currencies. So, players can stop worrying about buying those Crates and will get those by other means. This might involve creating in-game milestones, completing timed challenges or daily login bonuses and the crates will offer you credits, emotes and items that are entirely cosmetic. This way, loot boxes are not tied to your gameplay at all.

Character customization however, is not above micro-transactions and is returning in April with a new update. You can buy costumes for your selected characters from the in-game store using Credits or Crystals. Now, whether you should earn your Credits through normal gameplay or buy Crystals with real money for that is completely up to you.

Previously, EA was always against the idea of adding cosmetic items to the game as it violates the official Star Wars canon. Because, Darth Vader with a pink or white drape will not make any sense at all and is wrong on so many levels. Nevertheless, both EA Dice and Electronic Arts are adding these concepts to the game because Disney is OK with this, which they never thought, would be the case.

RELATED: Disney to Replace EA for Star Wars Games

EA is taking a huge step in changing what they have started with Battlefront II and opens up a lot of room for improvement. Aside from adding new content to better the experience, they will probably include new modes and they will be unlike anything we ever saw. Hopefully, the studio took their lessons from the pay-to-win backlash and working to salvage their reputation. Star Wars Battlefront II is available worldwide now to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Disney to Replace EA for Star Wars Games

Rumor has it that, Electronic Arts might be on the brink of losing their privilege of making Star Wars games from now on as they are most probably losing their licensing agreement of the franchise with Disney. Back in 2012, Disney acquired Lucasfilm and shut down LucasArts division almost immediately because they were not very interested developing Star Wars games by themselves and decided to hand over the task to some established third-party instead.

At that time, EA was their top choice for a developer and publisher company to license the Star Wars franchise for making video games. So, an exclusive multi-year licensing agreement was signed by EA on 2013 with Disney and Lucasfilm to create a number of Star Wars games for all popular platforms out there. Since then, EA has released two Star Wars titles; Star Wars Battlefront (2015) and Star Wars Battlefront II (2017).

RELATED: Star Wars: The Last Jedi Update for Star Wars Battlefront II

Electronic Arts then acquired the developer studio of multiplayer first-person shooter games Titanfall and Titanfall 2, Respawn Entertainment all of a sudden for $151 million, while shutting down Visceral Games. Apparently, EA took charge of Respawn to finish working on a Star Wars title that formerly Visceral Games was developing. If the current rumor about Disney and EA splitting over is true, then the fate of that game will be quite uncertain.

RELATED: Star Wars Battlefront II Controversy Hurts EA Stock Price

In accordance to the most current controversy EA has created by subtly forcing micro-transaction concept though in-game loot boxes in the recently released Star Wars Battlefront II has caused a great stir among the fan-base and they were repeatedly bashed at various social media for this insensitive move. Things escalated so bad with this issue that EA even lost market shares and even missed their sales target at the end of the year.

Battlefront II Widespread Backlash

RELATED: Reddit Bashed EA Over Battlefront II Loot Boxes

Despite EA shutting down the pay-to-win progression system for then, the damage has been done and their reputation was ruined. With worldwide fan-outrage against them, Lucasfilm isn't looking very impressed as well and they are already looking for other big-name studios to handle the licensing deal from here. Most prominent candidates among the studios are Activision and Ubisoft by far but there is still no confirmation from any parties just yet.

RELATED: Star Wars Battlefront II Micro-Transactions Outrage

Even though the exact nature of Electronic Arts' licensing agreement with Disney and Lucasfilm isn't exactly very clear but looks like EA was in an exclusive publishing agreement with them and therefore, any other third-party developer studio can develop Star Wars games for EA to publish. However, given the fact that EA do not work with other companies that they do not own or have some sort of control over, it will be difficult for a company to work on that matter.

Star Wars Battlefront II Missed Sales Targets

If things would've been different, Star Wars Battlefront II could have been the successful action shooter video game everyone hoped for it to be. Instead, it becomes such an abomination of the series that the fans held in such high standards previously. All because of Electronic Arts’ (not-so) bright idea of introducing the concept of micro-transactions through in-game loot boxes and thus, causing massive fan outrage.

star wars battlefront 2 underperformed 2017
Star Wars Battlefront II Missed Sales Targets

Recently, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson of Electronic Arts have revealed their most anticipated release of last year, Battlefront II have failed to meet their expected sales target in their quarterly earnings conference call. EA expected to sell at least 10 million copies within the end of December, which is the third quarter of their 2018 fiscal year but so far, they have shipped only 9 million copies of the game and therefore they are one million copies short to meet the estimated sales target.

RELATED: Star Wars: The Last Jedi Update for Star Wars Battlefront II

According to Wall Street Journal, EA’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen states that they require to sell 1 million to 3 million units more within the end of March, the conclusion of the fiscal year. Even if they manage to do that somehow, Battlefront II will still remain behind the previous game of the series, Star Wars Battlefront that shipped over 14 million copies within 2016 fiscal year and was more appreciated by the fans than the current installment.

RELATED: Star Wars Battlefront II Controversy Hurts EA Stock Price

When the much-controversial micro-transaction outrage hit EA in the face before the release of the game, they have removed it almost immediately and as a result, players cannot purchase the in-game currency of "Crystals Pack" or any other loot crates anymore. The company also said that they will eventually bring it back and Jorgensen reminded us that they are bringing the in-game purchase system in a few months when they deem fit.

RELATED: Reddit Bashed EA Over Battlefront II Loot Boxes

Needless to say that, the failing to meet sales target was largely because of the greedy attempts of EA to try and slip through the pay-to-win policy in-game. As for an AAA game developer, this move was pretty careless considering people already spending $60 for a full-priced game. At first, many have appreciated them for not including any overpriced season pass DLC but then players found out that Battlefront II has locked weapons and player upgrades after the Beta went public.

star wars battlefront 2 loot boxes returning
Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker Are Locked

Before the release of Star Wars Battlefront II, EA promised to include many fan-favorite and legendary Star Wars characters from all three trilogies of the series but then EA locked out classic characters like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker behind shady paywalls, which was a major disappointment for the dedicated fan-base of Star Wars franchise. Contents based on The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi movie could have added more attraction for the consumers if they hadn't done what they did.

RELATED: Star Wars Battlefront II Micro-Transactions Outrage

Although CEO Andrew Wilson denies it completely, rumor in the air is that, this move has also cost their previous tidy relationship with Disney. Back then, things escalated so much so after a post on Reddit caused the loot crate controversy that Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger had to step up right away and make EA back out of their of pay-to-win practices at that instant.

RELATED: Emperor Palpatine Joins Star Wars Battlefront II

Currently, Star Wars Battlefront II is available worldwide to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Despite considering all the shady moves Electronic Arts tried to pull for a few extra bucks, Battlefront II is pretty enjoyable and even without access of the legendary hero characters upfront, you can still have a good time playing the game and explore the Star Wars universe in your own way.

Top 10 Most Anticipated Video Games of 2018

2017 has been a great year for PC gamers and console gamers as there were tons of great games out in the market the whole year-long that kept the players busy in their seats. While players around the world was hyped with games like Call of Duty: WWII, Destiny 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Super Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, many far greater titles were also announced and made headlines while left the bedazzled spectators in waiting for them to come out this year.

Top 10 Most Anticipated Video Games of 2018

Yes, we are here now to talk about the most anticipated video game titles that people have been waiting for some time to drop in and chances are, you might find out some of your favorites among the list.

monster hunter world pc
1. Monster Hunter: World

1. Monster Hunter: World (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
Capcom is bringing the biggest and the best version of Monster Hunter game with the latest title of the series, Monster Hunter: World. Gaining a massive fan-base from all over the world, the game has gotten players on the edge of their seats for some time and these days, the popularity of the Monster Hunter series is not only limited to Japan anymore.

Hunting ferocious monsters while wielding large weapons and crafting tough armor to save your skin has never been this much fun before. You may not start playing this game as a fan but it will soon turn you into one if you give it some time. Plus, it will give you the multiplayer experience that you've been yearning for years.

far cry 5 pc gameplay
2. Far Cry 5

2. Far Cry 5 (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
Ubisoft's latest installment from the Far Cry series comes the newest sequel of the action-adventure first-person shooter; Far Cry 5. Since their last title of the series, Far Cry 4 was more of a close re-incarnation of the third game and they were chastised by the fans for it, Ubisoft has emphasized on bringing enough change to prevent that from happening again. The game has been delayed for several times now because of the recent unstable state in American politics to avoid unwanted issues.

This is the first time the game took its open-world to USA and you may expect a little less wildlife around this new location with rural setting. When the game comes out, your job is to deal with the doomsday cult of Hope County known as Eden's Gate, formed by a radical preacher named Joseph Seed. This new approach to the established franchise may just work fine but we have to wait some more to be sure about it completely.

red dead redemption 2 pc
3. Red Dead Redemption 2

3. Red Dead Redemption 2 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
Looks like fans of the Western-themed action-adventure cannot just wait for the tie of 2018, when they will get their hands on Red Dead Redemption 2. Though very little to no significant details about the game are out yet but players who've played Red Dead Redemption and had a good time are already dying on anticipation for the sequel.

As outlaw Arthur Morgan, players will experience an extensive story campaign and possibilities are that there will be online features. For now, the game is only limited to console players only but who knows if developer Rockstar Studios have any future plans to release the game on PC or not! We can only hope and wait for that.

god of war games
4. God of War

4. God of War (PlayStation 4)
The first PlayStation exclusive game that entered the chart is Sony's newest release from the God of War series. Spartan warrior and a vengeful demigod Kratos returns to god-slaying business once again with the title simple called God of War. After slaying all the Greek gods, Olympians and Titans in previous installments, Kratos has set his sights on the gods of Norse myth. From the E3 press conference two years back, we haven't been able to gather too much of information about the game.

Since this one is a reboot on the original continuation after God of War III, some even regards it as God of War 4 as well. The game has largely revamped its gameplay and made major improvement on that part of simple hack n' slash it was mostly based on. Now that e is a father, his "rage meter" also constantly fluctuates during his quest. Perhaps, this new take on the game far from the original series may eventually bring it back to the glory it deserves.

5. Sea of Thieves

RELATED: God of War Release Date

5. Sea of Thieves (PC, Xbox One)
Set on the heart of Caribbean, developer Rare's upcoming pirate-themed action-adventure cooperative multiplayer Sea of Thieves is one of the promising entry on the list even though many believes that it has the same potential of falling onto its face as it has the qualities of rising above all. Many “realistic” elements of the pirate culture are brought on board that players would enjoy with these marine outlaws.

If you hang out with the right crews then this loot-hunting multiplayer could be a great fun of your life. Whether you love to hunt for treasures or attack your rival crews, Sea of Thieves will never cease to entertain you. You can also customize your crews and cruise as you see fit before you set off exploring islands and caves. PlayStation 4 owners have to sit this one down for the moment as this one is only limited to PC and Xbox One right now.

crackdown 3 pc
6. Crackdown 3

6. Crackdown 3 (PC, Xbox One)
With Sony releasing so many fan-favorites this year for their home console, Microsoft Studios had to bring something to the table and Crackdown 3 was their pick that actually made it to the top. An action-adventure game set in an advanced, futuristic Metropolis, this one is the third chapter of the franchise that is coming after nearly eight years of its predecessor and that was back in 2010.

This one is not a game where a back-story actually matters that much or anyone really cares, Crackdown 3 is all about the superhero-like protagonists of that world jumping and crushing stuffs from their surrounding open-world environment. Though the game will also be released on PC, it surely will make use of the features of Xbox One. So, you get onto a spree of destruction with your hands behind the wheel of these hi-tech Agents once the game comes out.

kingdom hearts 3 release date
7. Kingdom Hearts III

7. Kingdom Hearts III (PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
The last game that we ever played from Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts series was twelve years ago and in the mean time a handful of spin-off games and re-releases came out based on the original. Luckily, we are not having any of those and a full title is being released as Kingdom Hearts III. Donald, Goofy and Sora will be out in quest for the "guardians of light" to oppose the evil villain Master Xehanort.

The latest release will explore other classic worlds of Disney like Big Hero 6, Tangled and Toy Story. The protagonists of the story will have new abilities, improved combat system and five party members are now allowed to join for more epic battles. Unfortunately, the game is only meant for consoles and so PC gamers cannot seemingly take part in the adventure. With the release of Kingdom Hearts III, Disney and Square Enix is looking to make a sure score this year.

dragon ball fighterz pc
8. Dragon Ball FighterZ

8. Dragon Ball FighterZ (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
Literally thousands of anime loving fans were blown out of their minds when they first learned of Dragon Ball FighterZ, a fighting game from Arc System Works and Bandai Namco. Usually, the latter company makes Dragon Ball based video game titles and Arc System taking over on such a project was a bit hard for many to digest. However, the end result is a true spectacles because they really get it right for the first time in never before, thus giving Marvel Vs. Capcom series a run for their money.

From the design to the fighting nature of the Dragon Ball universe, everything is so much accurate that it's nearly unbelievable. Popular characters of the series like Goku, Vegeta and the rest of the roster are going to be available for you to best your skills in a fight. While the game is 2.5D, everything is actually rendered in 3D and the end result looks exact anime-like. For this amazing feat, Arc System Works truly deserves our praise and we cannot see any reason why the game will not rule on all platforms.

a way out pc game
9. A Way Out

9. A Way Out (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
This one is almost certainly the only game in our list that actually kept heads down until E3 2017 and no one may have even heard about it ever. Other than the people who worked on the game, A Way Out from Hazelight Studios and Electronic Arts, none other was aware of the development. It is simply an action-adventure game from a third-person perspective, where you play through a split-screen and attempt for a prison break.

You will partner-up with another player whom you can randomly pick from online or you can just ask your best friend to play it with you. All you will be doing is try to escape from a prison where you two are kept in and the split-screen will give you a re-defined experience of co-op games. Critics are already in favor of this game and many players are already feeling hyped. So, let's see if this one actually makes it big upon debut.

anthem game pc
10. Anthem

10. Anthem (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
For the sake of the Anthem game project, Bioware and EA have literally killed the Mass Effect series and put all the money and effort intended for. Following the unexpected sales drop Mass Effect: Andromeda has suffered, the company decided to invest their resources somewhere else. The creators of Anthem were really pushed to create a better quality open-world for this game, which will not disappoint the players.

Whatever little peak the developers have shown us till date makes it look all promising as far as the hero flies wearing those cool Javelin exosuit concerns. Now, whether or not Anthem turns out to be a successful project for them is just a matter of time to find out. Good news is that the game comes to all consoles and PC, so everyone who is excited about it can at least try it out for once.

All the game that had the close potential to make it to the list is Detroit: Become Human, Days Gone, Metro: Exodus, The Last of Us Part II, Marvel’s Spider-Man, State of Decay 2 and Shenmue III. Being PlayStation exclusives and also two of the most prominent release of 2018, the exclusion of both The Last of Us Part II and Marvel’s Spider-Man seemed pretty abnormal considering how crazy fans were about the games and how much promising they are. Code Vein, Yoshi, Darksiders III, Metroid Prime 4 and Psychonauts 2 also couldn't get into the top 10 for some unknown reason or perhaps fans were less enthusiastic about them in real than we thought.

We were surprised the most when maestro Hideo Kojima's newest project, the upcoming Death Stranding video game did not make itself count either. However, we strongly believe if there were any disbelief or doubts among the fans about the game, they will be surprised to see how wrong they were once the game makes its debut.

Star Wars Battlefront II Controversy Hurts EA Stock Price

Following the recent backlash from the dedicated fans over the micro-transaction system in the Star Wars Battlefront II game to unlock prominent characters of the series like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, Electronic Arts experiences drop on their stock price. It was EA DICE's attempt to reboot the Star Wars Battlefront franchise with the second title of the series but enraged players worldwide has bashed them over the social media platform of Reddit for their shady practices and progression system.

Plus, one of their insensitive response regarding “pride and accomplishment” toward the issue has set the whole fan-base ablaze, leading many people cancelling their pre-orders for Battlefront II and many sending refund requests to EA. Aside from that, where millions of people were eagerly waiting to get their hands on the game are now bashing the game and its publisher for such greedy approach.

To bring the increasingly worse situation under control as soon as possible, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger had to step up and make EA back out of their of pay-to-win practices. Lately, Disney was already having trouble with directors of their upcoming movies based on the Star Wars universe been quitting over creative differences with the studio every now and then, and having a hassle to get everything back on track.

RELATED: Emperor Palpatine Joins Star Wars Battlefront II

Plus, they have the release of Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi right on the horizon and the studio clearly don't want to be involved in any other controversy regarding the franchise before the film comes out. EA had no other option but to comply as Disney owns both Lucasfilm and the rights to Star Wars. So, they announced that they are backing out of the plan of Battlefront II‘s micro-transactions.

RELATED: Star Wars Battlefront II Features Darth Vader

However, Disney's involvement in this issue was not the only thing that shook EA to the core. Recently, the record-setting negativity over Battlefront II also grabbed the attention of Wall Street investors and EA suffers a 2.5 percent drop at their stock price by Friday, November 17. This is also the day when Star Wars Battlefront II saw its release on the market and there is no denying that it affected them.

Star Wars Battlefront II is out now and available to play for all on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Since the game belongs to the Star Wars universe, it can still do well but developers need to make proper and permanent changes to the game before that. The idea of pay-to-win is sickening the video game market as big-time companies are getting more and more interested to it but the protest from the fans have showed that Battlefront II was meant for the Star Wars community, not to become another money making machine for EA.
