Fallout 76 Nuka Cola Dark Rum Outrage

Bethesda managed to make Fallout 76 fans mad once again by doing Nuka Cola Dark Rum bottles wrong.

If you think for moments that developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks will let the year 2018 go without making any more headlines, you are absolutely wrong! However, this time they had to irk the fans with something other than their game Fallout 76.

If struggling with the overall sales of their latest venture of online action role-playing with the Fallout series wasn't enough, they have now annoyed the fans by doing their Nuka Cola Dark rum bottles completely wrong. Tough break!

Nuka-Cola is a soft drink that exists within the fictional world of the game and the company decided to file a patent for it after partnering up with Silver Screen Bottling Company. Currently it is available in limited amount for the price of $80.

The drink inspired by the game eventually came a month late and fans remained very patient on that but then they got really pissed about the bottles it came in that looked like cheap plastic rather than being made of glass.

RELATED: Fallout 76 Backlash Could Face Lawsuit

After all, they expected something that would be higher in quality for the solid price they paid and even though it may look like a misleading marketing, both parties involved in creating and selling the product has a lot to answer for to the paying customers.

Players go to social media platforms to voice their frustration but then again, Silver Screen Bottling Co. never really specified what the bottles would be made off and people just assumed that for the overprice they paid, they should at least get a glass bottle.

RELATED: Bethesda to Replace Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition's Nylon Bags

Fans were never really on board with the idea of the title being strictly online but they waited for it anyway and got a buggy game at the end of the year as a payback for their anticipation. Then these customers were denied refunds because of Bethesda's strict no return policy.

You might think that they would stop there but then they try to outsmart the customers who pre-ordered the $200 worth F76 Power Armor Edition by handing them over cheap nylon bags instead of the West Tek canvas duffel bag they originally promised.

RELATED: Fallout Classic Collection Free for Fallout 76 Players

Things started to worsen when a law firm took interest investigating the matter from within after noticing wave of complain from pissed off customers towards the developer and only then they announced to keep their promise by replacing the nylon bags.

When the news came out about Nuka Cola Dark, people knew for sure that the developers are not going to make actual alcoholic beverages and expected to get the product in some sort of glass bottle to keep it as a collectible item. Otherwise, why they would spend so much on a bottle of rum?

Some may say that people are overreacting and probably trying to take a dig at the company just because they need an excuse to do so but getting ripped over twice in a year by someone as reputed as them really give you trust issues that you cannot really shake off.

Bethesda could've simply ended the year by being more serious to their commitment to the consumers after all the debacle they already faced but somehow, they haven't learned anything at all and making their loyal fans angry with each move.

Top 10 Worst Video Games of 2018

While reminiscing about the memory of gaming triumphs of this year, we are also looking back at the top 10 worst video games of 2018.

We saw 2018 started with bunch of good games and were hopeful to see some more to join the parade, which they did. However, there will always be some let downs down the line that will either ruin the day for you or leave a bad taste in your mouth for long.

This year was no different on that term and we got our fair share of terrible titles that can drive players into frenzy after the developers to get their money back. Looking at their over reception from fans and critics, we came up with a list of top 10 worst video games of 2018.

top 10 worst games of 2018
Top 10 Worst Video Games of 2018

Here are the top 10 disaster ride no one asked for in 2018 or turn out to be huge bummer in spite of high expectation.

the quiet man pc ps4 xbox one
1. The Quiet Man

1. The Quiet Man (PC, PlayStation 4)
Although the game comes from renowned developer/publisher Square Enix, it fails to impress players and it is so hurtful because the game was announced back at E3 2018 but turned out to be a disastrous outcome for its poor quality.

A best, the title is an interactive movie which is completely out of place and time, which easily confuses anyone by dragging into a genre that is hard-to-define. The gameplay could have been better but kills the mode with its repetitive nature.

2. Super Seducer (PC)
When you try to come up with a simulator to help men get laid but ended up creating one that awfully objectifies women by trying to implement the art of seducing them. If the low-level production quality is not enough, the bad acting will surely kill the mode for you.

It might accidentally end up helping out some guys in need somehow but at the same time it will infest creepiness and misogyny in their minds. With that much cringe in it, Super Seducer easily made it to the top of this list.

new gundam breaker pc ps4
3. New Gundam Breaker

3. New Gundam Breaker (PC, PlayStation 4)
Seeing Bandai Namco backing this game up, you may think that they are up for another fun-filled mech action bonanza but you would also be very surprised to find out how often you can come out completely wrong and unfortunately, that is what happened with this game.

The game has successfully let down critics and fans alike by not living up to standards of any past game of the series and fails to even generate sparks of interest among players. Die-hard fans of the franchise would probably die down due to lack of a story as well.

metal gear survive pc ps4 xbox one
4. Metal Gear Survive

4. Metal Gear Survive (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
Whether or not developer/publisher Konami thought that they can make a Metal Gear game work without having creator Hideo Kojima on board. However, they gave it a shot to learn things the hard way and they know now that they simply can't.

Ditching the good old espionage action, players are now tasked to work on survival by searching for food, water and killing zombies, which is why aspects of Metal Gear Solid V don't even work here. This looks like a badly made modification using their Fox Engine.

fallout 76 pc ps4 xbox one
5. Fallout 76

5. Fallout 76 (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
You won't have to look any further to find another E3 disappointment because Bethesda Softworks has it covered with their recent online action role-playing release. The failure started with their B.E.T.A (Break-it Early Test Application) program and continued to follow.

First and foremost, the game is entirely online and there is no single player campaign. When it finally launched full of bugs and glitches, people just lost their minds. They are denied refunds, some special edition owners were even handed with poor quality goods and those are just the tip of the iceberg.

agony video game nintendo switch pc ps4 xbox one
6. Agony

6. Agony (Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
The idea of making a first-person survival horror game where player is actually trapped in hell was innovative but it eventually left everyone in literal agony for spending their precious money and time on it for no good reason at all.

If the non-engaging playing style and similarly worse plotline it offered was not enough to count it as a stinker, the bugs and crashes did the rest. The AI is dumber than you can think of and the use or gory tortures are overused.

fear effect sedna nintendo switch pc ps4 xbox one
7. Fear Effect Sedna

7. Fear Effect Sedna (Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
You think that the third game of the Fear Effect series would be nearly as good as the first two but then again, you can be wrong. In fact, Sedna actually throws everything out of the window to become a train wreck including gameplay and perspective.

If those didn't do much to harm the title, it suffered from lack of straight storytelling and horrible dialogues. The characters are not the ones people loved playing and that was backed up by boring gameplay to make it another Kickstarter disaster.

past cure pc ps4 xbox one
8. Past Cure

8. Past Cure (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
We are quite convinced that developer/publisher Phantom 8 Studio had an intention of creating a genre defining title but somewhere along the line the development efforts end up being less enthusiastic about it and you can tell that by looking at it.

Past Cure started telling a story of two brothers digging into a dark conspiracy where there are scopes for action and stealth to keep you going but they ended up digging their own grave instead for not living up to the starting points.

the inpatient ps4
9. The Inpatient

9. The Inpatient (PlayStation 4)
Even though this psychological horror title comes as a prequel to Until Dawn, developer studio Supermassive Games miserably failed to deliver another breakout hit. They followed the same mechanics of narrative choices but failed to provide an appealing story.

It may seem a bit unfair to expect too much from them but the least they could do was to come up with a decent game if not a better one. The anticipated hype for the game was soon turned into an intensely underwhelming experience because of its consequence-free gameplay.

shaq fu a legend reborn nintendo switch pc ps4 xbox one
10. Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn

10. Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn (Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
Back in the 1994, Shaq-Fu made a name for it using the star power of Shaquille O'Neal but an attempt to cash on that nostalgia today didn't work pretty well and they had to go through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign just to make the project happen.

In terms of reboot, the title switched the genre of fighting game into a beat 'em up. Even after that, Big Deez Productions couldn't just make it into a solid side-scrolling brawler and has no replay value at all despite its hilarious take on its own past to cheer people up. The backers got ripped.

At this point, we are almost certain that you have not heard of many of the above-mentioned titles up until now and we don't blame you. People missed them out because they were never good in the first place and so, nobody cared for them at all.

Amidst all these wrecks, Fallout 76 stands out as one AAA black sheep that could only been just a plain bad game but Bethesda had to escalate things by creating controversies with their refund policy and attitude towards pre-ordering customers made it all blew up on their face.

Fallout Classic Collection Free for Fallout 76 Players

Bethesda gives away Fallout Classic Collection to everyone who played Fallout 76 on any platforms this year.

Ever since developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks has launched their online action role-playing game Fallout 76, they are in hot waters with fans regarding many concerning issues including a refund debacle and backlash from Power Armor Edition owners.

To add insult to the injury, they announced a huge discount on the $59.99 price of the game, causing the game to drop from all sales charts within a week. Too many wrong moves were made and the company decides to give Fallout Classic Collection to players for free.

Anyone who has played Fallout 76 at any point of this year has undoubtedly faced some annoying bugs and glitches for sure. On top of that none of them has any refunds or whatsoever for the troubles except for a claimed few.

In case if you have ordered the Power Armor Edition of the game, then you might be one of the many who got a cheap nylon bag instead of a canvas duffel bag or pre-ordered any edition of the game to feel ripped off when it came to sale the next week after launch.

So, Bethesda wanted to make it up to them and announced the following on Twitter today as a sort of apology to the fans.

Fallout Classic Collection is a bundle of the original Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics.  All of these titles are currently available to play only on PC but also offered to players across PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to redeem a copy on Microsoft Windows system.

On average, the bundle is sold on Steam for $19.99 only and currently it is included in their ongoing Steam Winter Sale for just $5.99. Considering the Standard Edition of Fallout 76 on sale for only $39.99, Bethesda is probably looking for some extra sales at the end of the year.

Bethesda to Replace Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition's Nylon Bags

Bethesda decides to send West Tek canvas bags for Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition customers following fan backlash.

The news regarding the disastrous reviews of online action role-playing game Fallout 76 by developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks is probably not something new to you if you are in touch with recent affairs lately but have you heard of the nylon bag backlash as well?

Apparently, players who would purchase a Power Armor Edition of the game worth $199.99 will receive a canvas made West Tek duffel bag along with a few other collectible items as they originally advertised but ended up sending cheap nylon bags to them instead.

The quality of the final product that came with the Collector's Edition was too bad and not anything that was promised to the consumers in the product listing. Consumers were definitely pissed at what they received and took social media to address it.

RELATED: Fallout 76 Xbox One X Bundle Announced

Their support team responded saying that the switch was made due to unavailability of materials and never bothered to inform the paying customers about it. People were still reluctant about buying into their excuse and started raging

So, Bethesda then decided to offer the players to give compensation for this through in-game currency of 500 Atoms which is equivalent of $5 and that doesn't even buy you a postman skin that has a canvas bag, because it is worth 700 Atoms.

Things have gotten worse when players eventually discovered that many of the social media influencers and YouTube creators got those Special Edition box for free along with the canvas bag that they even paid huge buck for and it surely calls for an outrage.

Players were skeptical about an entirely online based Fallout game when it was released back in May 2018 and fans became angry when the game turn out to be full of bugs and glitches. When people learned about their strict no-refunds policy, the developer came close to face a class action lawsuit.

Finally, Bethesda stepped up to make things right by have those canvas bags manufactured for all the customers who purchased the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition and offer them a replacement by filling out a form to get a support ticket for it.

RELATED: Fallout 76 Was Teased in Fallout 4

Of course it took some encouragement from paying customers for the company to get their priorities straight and do right things but it also doesn't change the fact that Fallout 76 is a broken piece of puzzle right now that needs fixing.

Bethesda already released an update that is even bigger than the game and doesn't matter whenever it gets better but the trust they have broken with fans will never be the same. These days, not evaluating your loyal fan-base properly is the most fatal mistake developers can make that they cannot afford in long run.

Fallout 76 Backlash Could Face Lawsuit

With issues regarding transparency and refund policy for Fallout 76, Bethesda Studios could be facing a class action lawsuit very soon.

Developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks has been struggling with their online action role-playing game Fallout 76 ever since it came out. If players were not already skeptical enough about the title from the initial announcement, it launched with a load of bugs.

When they sorted that out with a patch, turns out many sections of the game was found unplayable and players were disappointed. When they asked for refunds, Bethesda simply denied them stating their refund policy.

Players never really got quite comfortable with their idea of making the next Fallout game strictly online and things started to get real bad once it came out. The insane amount of hilarious bugs and glitches within the game required to have an immediate patch on its opening day.

The developers released a patch to fix things up that was actually larger than the main game and didn't solve anything permanently. Their policy on refund says, once you downloaded the game, you are not eligible for receiving refunds anymore.

RELATED: Fallout 76 Xbox One X Bundle Announced

Turns out, some people still got their money back despite the policy upon contacting to the support team but then they went back to their strict policy of no refund and thus, confusing many any angering them with their stand on the issue.

Although they addressed the issue and publicly apologized to fans, seems like it was a bit later for that as a law firm Migliaccio and Rathod LLC., has taken interest after noticing a surge of complain towards the developer and decided to investigate the matter from within.

They have arranged a confidential questionnaire for those who asked for a refund to determine whether or not Bethesda has been practicing deceptive marketing and therefore, will it be worth filing a class-action lawsuit against the company.

There is another issue regarding the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition priced $199.99, which was supposed to include a West Tek canvas bag as per advertisement but what people end up receiving is a cheap nylon bag instead.

RELATED: Fallout 76 May Have Single Player Mode Later

When contacted to them about it, Bethesda admitted about the fact stating there was a lack in materials but never for a moment, had they bothered to alert the paying customers about the switch. No heads up or absolutely nothing.

However, they later issued an official statement in response to the subject and offered 500 Atoms, in-game currency which is equivalent of $5 to everyone who ordered the special Power Armor Edition. We are only wondering if they are seriously joking.

RELATED: Fallout 76 Was Teased in Fallout 4

PC Gamer staff writer, Chris Livingston pointed out on Twitter that 500 Atoms can't even buy players a postman skin that has a canvas bag with it and costs 700 Atoms.

RELATED: Fallout 76 C.A.M.P. Gameplay

Bethesda Softworks is already in pretty deep water regarding the downward going review for Fallout 76, which has become the worst reviewed game they made in years and now their shady trade practice tendency is adding more fire to it.

Not only did they rushed too much with the game but were not sincere enough with their promises and now are maybe heading towards a potential lawsuit that could probably impact the future projects at hand. It is time for them to wise up and keep the promises the company made with players to straighten things out.
