Popular voice actor from One Piece anime series joins Ghost of Tsushima cast for Japanese voice track.

As we are only months away from upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive action-adventure title Ghost of Tsushima to release on July 17, 2020, a gameplay overview was featured in latest episode of State of Play presentation.

To provide Japanese voice for protagonist Jin Sakai, developer Sucker Punch Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment has cast voice actor Kazuya Nakai, renowned for his work in Japanese anime TV series One Piece.

One of the highlights from State of Play gameplay presentation was an option to employ Japanese voice trackrs with English subtitles. Kazuya Nakai's voice in showcase for Tsushima is easily recognizable for any of his long-time fans.

Call upon a gust of wind to get direction before hopping onto your trusty horse and heading to your next story cinematic or some sword-fighting. Often time you can pick visual cues from odd shaped trees, smokestacks or wandering animals.

There are resources within your surroundings that will help you customize samurai Jin Sakai. Some role-playing elements allow you to make mechanical improvement that suits your protagonist character and define a gameplay style.

When it comes to combat, Sakai can either fight like an honorable samurai who would directly confront his enemies or becomes a Ghost to strike fear into the hearts of Mongol invaders and decimate them with ruthless efficiency.

Aside from scoring precised one-shot kills, you can also rely on parrying sometimes or use smoke bombs to distract enemies. Use combat skills or implement stealth to gain an upper hand when going against a group of adversaries.

Armor customization has an emphasis on your playstyle as well since certain attire will give you advantages on varying degrees. Collecting more charms and technique points are a way to upgrade skills of a samurai into a legendary Ghost.

Sucker Punch added new photo and video mode for people who would love to get creative in capturing a frame or recording a reel in-game. Players can easily make their own Samurai flick or awesome posters with tons of editing tools.

Ghost of Tsushima features an option to turn on Japanese voice tracks with subtitles from very beginning for an authentic experience. Dev team has apparently focused an awful lot on providing players more cinematic feel in overall.

Paying homage to classic Japanese films in newly introduced "Samurai Cinema" mode, Sucker Punch lets you enjoy an entire playthrough in black-and-white visual style that adds a grainy shade of monochrome overlay for a dramatic vibe.

Tsushima seems a lot like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in comparison and its gameplay seems inspired from Assassin's Creed series. However, Sucker Punch's latest IP doesn't fail to shine when it comes to aesthetic and graphical prowess.

Ghost of Tsushima is the last PlayStation 4-exclusive to release for current generation of Sony consoles. At this point, developers refuse to disclose whether they will be launching a PlayStation 5 version of the game anytime soon.

The Last of Us Part 2 New Release Date, Ghost of Tsushima Delayed

Sony has given a new release date for The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, both coming this summer.

Shortly after a spoiler-filled story leak for The Last of Us Part II and a leak on PlayStation Canada of a possible delay for Ghost of Tsushima took place, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment had to come forward for some damage control.

Recent official announcement made by SIE and Worldwide Studios have revealed that highly-anticipated PlayStation 4-exclusive game The Last of Us Part 2 will release for PS4 on June 19 and Ghost of Tsushima will follow on July 17, 2020.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 Story Leaked

Though previously scheduled for a May 29 release, TLoU2 had to be delay indefinitely because of logistic issues worldwide that were beyond control of developer studios and their parent company Sony, caused by Coronavirus outbreak.

Now that The Last of Us sequel gets a June release window, Tsushima had to push back a month from its original date as well. Sony assures that TLoU Part II will launch regardless of current situation amidst COVID-19 pandemic.

Fans have been incredibly excited to get their hands on The Last of Us 2 and then a major leak online has spoiled its story premise. Those alleged pre-release footage are acknowledged by developer Naughty Dog and were taken down.

Previously slated for a 2019 release, The Last of Us 2 was postponed to May 2020 but then they had to delay once again. Sony even offered a refund to players who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation Store due to this unforeseen setback.

Up until now, Sony had no slated date planned for a release and many fans speculated that TLoU Part 2 could likely be pushed to end of year 2020 or most possibly to early 2021 to coincide with next-gen console launch of PlayStation 5.

Then announcing a new release date for The Last of Us Part II all of a sudden was seemingly a calculated effort by Naughty Dog and Sony to distract everyone from leaked story spoilers, leading to an inevitable delay for Ghost of Tsushima.

Ghost of Tsushima Delay May Have Leaked by PlayStation Canada

Based on a new leak on PlayStation Canada website, Ghost of Tsushima may get delayed to August 2020.

Back in December 2019, upcoming highly-anticipated PlayStation 4-exclusive action-adventure game Ghost of Tsushima received an official release date of June 26, 2020 from developer Sucker Punch Productions via a story trailer.

A recent leak emerged from official PlayStation Canada website on listing of Tsushima with a "08/01/2020" release date, suggesting that the game may soon be announced getting delayed by publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Originally, GoT product page on PS Canada had a June 26, 2020 launch date and it was updated to August 1, 2020 then until they changed it back. This change was noticed and posted at first on NeoGAF forum with two screenshots as proof.

In "Coming Soon" section of PS Canada homepage, Tsushima is seen to have been slated for 08/01/2020. Similar date was found on bottom of its product page, which are all reverted back to previous official schedule shortly afterwards.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 Delayed Indefinitely

Due to worldwide Coronavirus pandemic recently, major developers and publishers in video game industry are trying to adapt and therefore, Sony had to delay The Last of Us Part II earlier for an indefinite period with no new release date.

It is very much likely that Sony will postpone Ghost of Tsushima release window by a month, probably because of a rumored new launch timeframe for The Last of Us 2 and someone at PlayStation Canada posted that earlier than intended.

PS4 fans were definitely not happy about this setback of course and many speculated before for Ghost of Tsushima to be delayed next. Unless international lockdown for COVID-19 ends anytime soon, more games in 2020 might get delayed.

If Sony ends up delaying Ghost of Tsushima for more than over a month to August 1, then The Last of Us sequel may launch in June and we will know about it early enough if they make an official announcement of a new date very soon.

In opening cinematic shot, lead character Jin Sakai stands in way of a small group of Mongol soldiers. Wearing Ghost gears, he explodes a smoke bomb after unsheathing his sword, invoking his enemy to come for him.

He recalls when he was lying on a beach after first Mongolian raid on his homeland earlier and everyone thought him to be dead. Now, he effortlessly takes down all but one and leaves him to inform general Khotun Khan of his arrival.

Adapting to new ways of fighting, Jin is presumably applying some ninja techniques to wage guerrilla warfare against enemy forces. Throughout his journey, he will acquire a variety of gear and weapons upgrades to face a growing storm.

Though the trailer does offer bits of its plotline and some general gameplay aspects, it most certainly is focused on him eventually becoming the legendary phenomenon "Ghost" that has become a menacing threat for invading army.

Then players noticed it in latest a live-action commercial for PlayStation 4 and State of Play started teasing fans for a new trailer. The Game Awards finally confirmed its release today for next year as a PS4-exclusive, arriving before PS5 launch.

Sucker Punch Productions previously worked on Infamous series for past decade and never really worked on a large-scale game like their current project, which really explains why it took this long for them to get things in right order.

Set around late 13th century, Ghost of Tsushima narrates the journey of lone samurai warrior Jin Sakai who takes a final stand against an invasion of Mongol empire on Tsushima Island that is in ruins following their ruthless first assault.

Sony Reveals PlayStation 5 Console Plans

Mark Cerny of Sony outlines what hardware features to expect from next-gen PlayStation console.

Rumors are going around among gaming communities for some time that Sony Interactive Entertainment has been working on next-generation PlayStation console for some time and people are already calling it PlayStation 5 despite any official confirmation.

Apparently, they were working on it for past four years now and most recently, lead system architect Mark Cerny spilled some beans about some planned outlines for the hardware in an exclusive interview with monthly magazine Wired.

Sony plans for their next video game console to be powered by CPU based third-generation AMD Ryzen line of processor and GPU based on Radeon Navi series, a custom variant to support ray tracing and up to 8K resolutions.

Ray tracing allows for simulating complex 3D environments and is common in Hollywood for visual effects. Some companies are trying to employ it for their high-end processors like Nvidia RTX line but no console was able to handle it so far.

Although the method is mostly used for graphical aesthetics of rendering objects more accurately to maintain realism, it can dramatically change audio experience as well, such as enemies being able to hear players' footsteps and all.

Next-gen PlayStation consoles will be using a solid-state drive for utilizing its speedy bandwidth to significantly decrease loading time of games and delivering faster online multiplayer experience than ever before.

RELATED: PlayStation State of Play, March 2019

Also, it will be backwards compatible for PS4 games and comes with PlayStation VR support but Cerny did not drop further details on their future plans for VR yet. Nor did he talk about any services or other features other than hardware specs.

Generally, Sony would have a keynote presentation at E3 in June but since they are skipping the annual game show for this year, our best guess is that any brand-new State of Play episode of their broadcast will most likely do that.
