Original Diablo Arrives on GOG

Original Blizzard classic action RPG game Diablo becomes available to digitally purchase on GOG.

Although developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment delivered dungeon crawler action RPG title Diablo III for Nintendo Switch, fans were not very happy when they announced the next game from the series, Diablo Immortal for mobiles only at BlizzCon 2018.

Dedicated fans were very unhappy with this direction studio chose to follow and faced heavy backlash. However, they would be glad knowing that PC version of original action based hack and slash game Diablo is now available digitally.

According to an official announcement found on Diablo III homepage, Blizzard partnered up with digital distribution platform by CD Projekt, GOG to sell copies of the game online in its original glory for the price of $9.99 only.

Players can also choose to pick up their copy from Battle.net store but this one will definitely be different from the one offered at GOG. While the former is completely unchanged as it was during launch, latter one is an enhanced version.

Also, better audio, resolution and screen refresh rates are a perks to GOG store along with other bug fixes. In case if you are looking for a dosage of nostalgia vibe out of the title, there is option for switch back to 20 FPS graphics too.

Though bringing the game to digital platform and made available to purchase for all doesn't make everything right but at least, this is a start towards a right direction and maybe someday soon we will also see the sequel, Diablo II arriving on online outlets as well.

The story of Darksiders revolves around a time when Heaven and Hell have waged war against each other. To restore order, "The Charred Council" sends War, first Horseman of the Apocalypse to Earth in the aftermath of the conflict that ravaged it.

The unintended and untimely leak only suggests that the game was probably meant to be displayed at the next Nintendo Direct broadcast, which fans are eagerly waiting for and now that they let it slip, we are hoping to have that soon as well.

The game was originally launched back in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before seeing a Windows PC release. It was eventually ported for PS4 and Xbox One while also receiving a Wii U version, which had a terrible sales record on the dying platform.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition for Nintendo Switch will be available at Nintendo eShop and your nearest retailers for the price of $29.99 only. We are really excited for the announcement and hoping to see the sequel, Darksiders II to arrive on Switch too.

Darksiders 3 Adds Classic Combat Mode

Darksiders 3 is nothing like the previous games of the franchise in terms of combat and all it need is just a new patch.

Not only Darksiders III came as the latest sequel of the hack and slash action-adventure game series Darksiders after long departure, it returned with a little improvement to the combat system that is truly inspired from to refresh things.

Although fans and players in usual has considered the game on a positive note, not everyone was too pleased with the newly revamped combat style and developer Gunfire Games took that to account by releasing a new patch to bring back the classic gameplay.

According to the patch notes, a brand-new combat mode "Classic" has been added along with the pre-existing "Default" and players are allowed to choose between these two different modes in gameplay options whenever they want.

Just like the past games from the series, Fury can now dodge to cancel attacks or instantly use items without waiting for the animation to play out. The best part of this is that, the change of combat mode does not affect your achievements or difficulty anyhow.

Some other improvements include the raised level cap of 200 and the addition of a few new checkpoints. Enemies are re-balanced and issues regarding random crashes are fixed. Fury is empowered with given better ledge grab detection while causing more damage in her Havoc Form.

Both developer Gunfire Games and publisher THQ Nordic is certain that the new patch will fix things up and make players feel more like the early games of the franchise. Darksiders III is currently available worldwide on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

For Honor X Assassin's Creed Collaboration Event

The three-week long crossover event between For Honor and Assassin's Creed is starting today and will end on January 10.

Two of the biggest titles of developer/publisher Ubisoft will collide as nothing is true, everything is permitted. If you understood that reference then you know we are talking about a certain stealth action-adventure franchise and they are in a quest For Honor.

If that sounds like a bad pun as well, then we will cut to chase where the medieval action fighting game calls in for a three-week long event called "For the Creed", which will bring in Assassin's Creed-themed content for the fierce warriors of the history.

There will be a 4v4 Dominion mode titled Assassini e Templari, which involves capturing zones to decoy commanders Ezio Auditore and Cesare Borgia out of a fight. Each team will receive 300 points to defeat them and the first one to collect 1000 points wins.

The limited time event for the melee action title will run from December 20 to January 10 over all available platforms. Plus, there will be cosmetic items and weapons like the wrist-blades or the axe from Assassin's Creed III to enjoy the spirit of this event.

To create a unique new gaming experience, Abstergo has attempted to generate a themed atmosphere with music and special environmental effects through the Animus and even director Warren Vidic would be there to narrate in certain game modes.

When the fighters will perform any drop attack it will come with a Leap of Faith animation and the in-game menus will be displayed through the Animus. There come a few weekly arcade quests and community orders for players to take part in as well.

In past, Ubisoft has teased the connection between their expanded universes and loves to do that. Earlier this year, Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell visited Ghost Recon: Wildlands and then Easter egg of that game were found in Assassin's Creed Odyssey as a pair of goggles.

In January, players of Assassin's Creed Origins will wield weaponry from the action fighting game in a crossover DLC and maybe that is why, For Honor is packing this event. Also, emotes, outfits or settings from Assassin's Creed may just pop in for the fighters.

The title originally started their journey with three unique class of fighters; Knight, Samurai and Vikings. Fans of AC series believe the next game of the franchise will be set in Feudal Japan and even though it is not coming anytime soon, the event may be setting the stage for that in advance.

For Honor year 3 content will come on January 31, 2019 and the game is already available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Although players have accused the game being a micro-transaction ridden system, Ubisoft somewhat redeemed that with regular updates.

Darksiders 3 Concept Art

Gunfire Games offers you to witness the concept art of Fury and the Seven Deadly Sins from Darksiders III.

From the very beginning, hack and slash action-adventure franchise of Darksiders did one thing constantly and that is creating a post-apocalyptic scenario in a modern world right. Whether it is the hellish creatures, surrounding environments or weaponry, they just set things as it should.

So, as developer Gunfire Games and publisher THQ Nordic slowly march towards the launch of Darksiders III, the latest release from the series, we got our hands on a series of concept art pieces that helped the studio translate apocalypse into the game from art.

Interpreting an entire planet consumed by the end times and how it has been taken over by otherworldly beings were a lot to work with but then again, nothing was off limits for the artists to go out for and follow any directions if that serves the purpose.

The biggest spin the second sequel took is that they introduced a female protagonist, Fury as the third horseman of the Apocalypse. She is a vengeful mage who is unlike her brothers War or Death and has a lot to offer when she is on the lead.

Also, the game features a near-endless group of enemies that would come across player's path as they stomp though to encounter The Seven Deadly Sins in the endgame. As the story continues further, design inspiration from previous Darksiders game will not go unnoticed to keen eyes.

The game goes deep into the fiery pit of Hell and comes back to Earth looking for a piece of Heaven over and over again. The gameplay mechanics and the plot background perfectly support that idea to take it to a new height.

Within hours, Darksiders III launches worldwide on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for a legion of dedicated fans and of course, to the casuals looking for a good time. On that note, you can also check out Darksiders (2010) and Darksiders II (2012) to catch up with the latest title if you are interested.

God of War Prequel Comics

Dark Horse writer Chris Roberson comes up with a prequel story for Kratos, God of War with artist Tony Parker.

The newly rebooted run of mythology based action-adventure game God of War from developer Santa Monica Studio was undoubtedly one of this year's biggest games. The saga is moved from Greek mythology to Norse mythology to establish a new run.

Although that seemingly worked out pretty well for a new setting of this game, there was void left behind that needed to be filled. So, after releasing God of War: The Official Novelization for the title, a four-issue prequel comic series is in works now.

When comic-book writer Chris Roberson (Aliens – Fire and Stone, Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. – 1953) from Dark Horse Comics handled the project of creating a prequel this year's PS4 blockbuster, he was intrigued and intimidated at the same time.

Roberson was aware of the new setting of Kratos that has been moved from his previous roots and it surely was a huge task. A story that takes characters from one era or genre and places them into another has opportunities for a lot of development.

A world filled with ice giants and trolls itself is vast enough to throw different obstacles at Kratos in his way to encounter every now and then. Then again, handling such a recognizable and well-established character with a huge fan-following is quite challenging.

To add more to his backstory, both Santa Monica Studios and Dark Horse Comics decided to go with a direct prequel to the new game that will maintain continuity. To start with that itself is a herculean task itself and also an honor.

The story premise follows Kratos after he has left his history with Olympus behind and builds a new life in the remote Norse wilds. Destiny would still find a way to use his rage for fuel of destruction and thus he entangled into troubled he didn't wanted.

When he was trying to save a stranger from being mauled to death by a monstrous bear in the woods, he unintentionally gets into beef with a mysterious cult. Since the former Ghost of Sparta always gets punished for his good deeds, this time seems not to be any different than his bloodied past.

RELATED: The Evil Within 2 Tie-In Comics

Collaborator and artist Tony Parker was a great help to Roberson as well as game director Cory Barlog. During their first conversation, he pitched the basic outline of the plot and then it took some time to eventually bring the story to life.

The first issue from the series is going to be released on November 14, 2018 and the prequel story nicely ties to the emotional journey Kratos go through in the new God of War game. All of this hard work will only pay off when readers will see it for themselves and enjoy the extended take on the saga.

MediEvil PS4 Announcement Trailer

The unlikely hero of Gallowmere returns this Halloween with the first trailer for MediEvil remake on PS4.

When the initial announcement was made for classic action-adventure hack and slash game MediEvil to come back as a remake at last year at PlayStation Experience, it just blown away the fans of the series and made many '90s kids excited as hell.

After two long decade, SIE Worldwide Studios is bringing the game back to PlayStation 4 with lot of memories. The official PS4 announce trailer for MediEvil has picked the night of Halloween 2018 and they couldn't have chosen any better time than this.

Before we talk spookier, let's take a quick look at the first footage of MediEvil and see what's in store for us.

Though the game was originally pitched as a remaster project but then we noticed most recently that the description has been changed to a full remake and boy, you can tell by the trailer footage that how much work they have put in to rebuild the whole thing.

The graphics of the game is completely reworked in terms of animations, character design, movements and surrounding areas. What once was a collective mess of polygonal shapes running around has come out as freshly carved out living pieces.

For those who don't know, MediEvil follows the story of Sir Daniel Fortesque or better known as Sir Dan, who was a champion of his people but unfortunately he died quickly in a battle against evil wizard named Zarok, who went into hiding afterwards.

When Zarok resurfaced a century later to take over the kingdom of Gallowmere with his resurrected army of undeads, he unwittingly revives Dan as well. Now, reduced to a skeletal corpse, Sir Dan takes the chance at redemption by opposing the evil sorcerer.

The formula of re-releasing of classic titles from fan-favorite series like Crash Bandicoot as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, collecting the first three games has met with immense success and prompt Spyro the Dragon to be branded as Spyro Reignited Trilogy, currently in bound for PS4 and Xbox One on November 13.

We are pretty sure that this remake will do great upon release and hopefully the developers and publishers will be convinced enough to do the same treatment with its sequel, MediEvil 2 up next if they haven't thought of it already.

The developer team actually planned to remaster the game earlier before the release and it was never meant to be taken as new maps. Players should look at these maps as the ones they have already played but it should give a better feeling after the visual upgrade.

For example, when in Valkenheim map, it should feel cold around as well as look like it and it is carried out with a sense of temperature. The land of Ashfeld on the other hand should convey warmth to seem more realistic in details of visual aspects.

Rooftops or the ground of Temple Garden is now covered in more snow and it will feel like a cold winter there. Particular pieces of every texture are improved with more precision and source of lighting allows you to notice these all too clear.

Even when battling in dark areas, there will be some light coming from windows or vantage points and makes your surroundings less flat than usual. This is an overhaul that updates all in-game multiplayer maps as well content from story mode.

All players who have already joined the medieval fighting game can access to the graphical upgrade and the newly introduced 4v4 Breach mode to play attack and defense tactics. This gives you the vibe of either defending your own fortress or raiding one.

The expansion of Marching Fire adds 4 new heroes of a Chinese-influenced new faction, Wu Lin and a new Arcade mode on October 16 for the price of $29.99 only. Everyone else can unlock these new heroes later on from October 30 in exchange for 15,000 Steel each.
