Prey Player Choices and Consequences

There was a time when we used to play game with many different approach yet meeting with same conclusion. Then as time passed, developers started being creative and introduced the concept of "Choices and Consequences" that matters in the end result of games. Recently, Telltale Games has taken that concept and making people feel more responsible for the consequences against their actions. Looks like, developer Arkane Studio is following the same footsteps with their upcoming project Prey.

Only Yu Can Save the World

The following clip titled "Only Yu Can Save the World" contains clip from the game detailing a few cut-scenes and the people behind the game talking about "Choices and Consequences".

Abroad Talos-1, everything you do, every step you take, is going to matter in the end no matter how insignificant that might be. For example, as Morgan Yu, you will come across many survivors during the course of Prey. Some of them will want your help to live or some may even ask for favor. What you choose to do next by either saving them or abandoning them by ignoring does not essentially make you a bad person but it sure will affect the outcome of the game. Morgan will also discover his brother Alex Yu, also the CEO of TranStar Corporation is in fact alive and planning for something fishy.

One other thing is that, you can constantly upgrade yourself and obtain more and more alien abilities to become more powerful and to best your chances against your Typhon enemies. But consequences also chase you here as there are a breed of Typhon called Nightmare and their job is to hunt you down. The more you will increase your alien powers, the better they are aware of your presence and it becomes easier for them to prey upon you.

Defined as a successor of System Shock and Dead Space by fans, this concept of the game sure is gonna be a favorable aspect of the game to gamers when it comes out on May 5, 2017.

Top 3 Prey Enemies to Look Out For

Morgan Yu woke up to prepare himself for his first day at work, at the space station Talos I of TranStar Corporation. But then things went wrong and Yu discovers himself in the middle of a sudden alien invasion, fighting deadly enemies that poses threat to him or anyone else. This is how Bethesda Softworks has set up the premise for their latest first-person shooter game Prey. Previously, we had a look at "Prey Gameplay Highlights From Opening Hour", that slightly explores what the game is all about and what type of dangers gamers will be facing but there were not much details on the alien enemies.

Prey – Typhon Research

The recently released clip from Bethesda titled "Prey – Typhon Research" not only introduces a wide-array of hostile Typhon aliens but also offers a up-close look at these vicious enemies.

To start with, we know the invading alien race are called Typhons, who are no doubt unfriendly and damn-straight hostile. Arkane Studios introduced us with an aggressive species that is going to make the game playing experience of Prey better for sure. The clip gave us a brief yet prominent features about the Typhons and we are picking our top 3 most dangerous enemies out of them.

Nightmare

Nightmares
One of the evolved categories of Typhons, Nightmares are one of the most-powerful enemies abroad Talos I. A pretty intimidating bad-guy in Prey who leaves you only a few choice to evade him. We have learnt from a previous announcement that, "Your Decisions Matters" in Prey and seemingly Nightmares are a way by which means the game will be reacting on your moves. As much as you will upgrade your abilities with Neuromods, the more they will be aware of your presence and come to hunt you down.

Phantom

Phantoms
Phantoms are just short for Typhon Anthrophantasmus, a skill combatant class of the aliens that are literally a "Phantom Menace" to the protagonist. It actually a hybrid form of The Weavers, means it is probably based on a dead human host body and that is why it shares a similar neural pattern like humans. But make no mistake of having any compassion from a Phantom as they are very deadly in close-up fights.

Telepath

Telepaths
Now we have left the best for last. Telepaths are one of the most-dangerous Typhons to record. Any environmental obstacles are no reason to worry for them and psychic energy blasts can temporarily render you unable to use powers. Also spawned from The Weavers, Telepaths can control other life forms and make them do his bidding.

Then there are organic matter absorbing The Mimics, transformed deceased life forms tuning into The Weaver and the invisible sinister known as Poltergeists. The game Prey will soon be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming systems upon its release on May 5, 2017.

Prey Gameplay Opening Hour Highlights

For those, who may not know, Prey is a recent addition in the first-person shooter genre of game from Bethesda Softworks. Recently, the game showed us some highlights from its opening hour and there are a couple of things that you may find lovely about it.

prey gameplay trailer
Prey Opening Hour Gameplay Highlights

So, here goes the gameplay highlights from the stunning first hour of Prey.

The first thing Prey does is to hit you with some awesome view from the protagonist Morgan Yu's apartment. You wake up as Morgan, head for the testing facility in a chopper, undergo some aptitude tests (probably for space), break out of some intriguing daydream and fight the Typhons in your office. There are some really stunning reveal that awaits the gamer which promises to be a great experience for them.

It is about Morgan Yu's first day at work on a space station and then suddenly everything goes to hell when the alien invasion starts. You go scavenging in your now abandoned workplace looking for supplies, weapons and upgrades while interact with the hostile mimics as they try to attack you. Though this official clip does not offer a very detailed look into the game but if you were lucky enough to play it, you would have a lot more access to the story and the surroundings.

Wandering through the space station, you discover a lot of things and a few nods (or Easter Eggs) towards other fan-favorites. Arkane Studios did a fantastic job bringing back the System Shock vibe into it with a setting to match. The game offers a player driven experience and its own sense of style that sets it apart. However, at times, the game might feel like a mix of BioShock and Dead Space to some.

If you have previously missed this awesome release from Bethesda Softworks, here is the first official gameplay trailer for Prey.

Releasing on May 5, 2017, Prey will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming systems.
