Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gunfight Mode Revealed

Infinity Ward introduces Gunfight, a 2v2 mode for upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare rebooted title.

With developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision on board, newest entry in Call of Duty first-person shooter series is revealed to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, scheduled to launch on October 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Chasing growing trend of Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 introduced their version of battle royale mode last year. In 2019, CoD is coming back with a fast paced, 2v2 multiplayer mode titled Gunfight.

Two teams of duos are pitted in a small map against each other with gears and weapons to eradicate the other party within 40 seconds. However, an overtime flag will spawn no one is killed in given time and players will have to defend it for points.

For each three seconds of defending it, you score a point and earning six points before your rival team is what you need to win a match. Players need not to create a class or worry about selecting loadouts before going into war.

Drop into a quick match anytime you want with your friends online and start shooting to save your own skin, because health isn't auto-regenerating. So, keep your eyes open, talk to your partners and be ruthless if you have to.

Infinity Ward sees Gunfight as their take on popular fighting game series Street Fighter, where players engage in short, 2v2 matches. These fights are intense and for a short time span in each fight, you need to be strategic to survive.

Classic campaign mode is coming back once again after it was removed last year for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and players would assume the role of a highly-trained operator on a journey that is based on really gritty narrative about global power-play.

You would engage in an intense campaign side by side with special force operatives throughout the world during single-player experience to complete many covert operations and it sure will be one emotionally charged ride for all.

There will be close-quarter combat, long-range fights and even stealth operations that are based on real world modern war, each testing your decision-making skills and tactical approach towards any situations under extreme conditions.

One of its greatest aspects would be featuring a cross-play support for over consoles and PC platforms when in multiplayer mode. Also, Modern Warfare would get rid of a traditional paid Season Pass system for CoD, which is pretty cool.

In continuation of an annual cycle of releasing a CoD title each year, Activision has brought back Infinity Ward on board and they are doing a soft reboot over the franchise to offer a re-imagined experience for everyone.

Instead of coming up with Modern Warfare 4, the studio decided to simply make it Modern Warfare for 2019, because originally it all begin from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare back in 2007 and though weirdly, somehow that makes sense.

Though there is no solid evidence for which sub-series from first-person shooter franchise Call of Duty will come out for 2019, all hints are pointing towards the release of much anticipated title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 now.

However, some recent information strongly suggests that some new project related to Modern Warfare is coming and developers at Infinity Ward are currently looking forward to a 2019 launch window that will be revealed very soon.

Recent changes in LinkedIn profiles of five former Infinity Ward developers show that all of them have returned to their former home. The studio brings back Mark Grigsby as animation director, who worked on first two MW games back then.

Alex Roycewicz, Geoff Smith and Joel Emslie came back as game designer, multiplayer design director and studio art director respectively. Even Infinity Ward founder Zied Rieke himself has returned in position of gameplay director.

Grigsby was behind popular knife melee attack mechanics of MW and worked on its weapons design. Roycewicz and Smith on the other hand were responsible for some unforgettable multiplayer maps like Overgrown and Wetwork.

Emslie came up with memorable Call of Duty character like Ghost and designed items like the ghillie suit. Rieke had the idea of original team deathmatch spawn logic and flashing health regenerating system that continue to influence COD.

When Activision fired company co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella, these five talented employees left Infinity Ward to join Respawn Entertainment, where they would work on successful titles like Titanfall and Titanfall 2.

After working for Respawn and before coming back to IW studio, Rieke joined Naughty Dog in 2013. Due to their reputation of creating compelling narratives, ex-developers are hired to craft a solid single-player campaign for newest Call of Duty title.

Infinity Ward has concluded MW story arc with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 back in 2011 and even in a regular cycle of a new Call of Duty game releasing every year, fans have been eagerly waiting to get back at it till this day.

Call of Duty 2019 Will Be Revealed Soon

Upcoming Call of Duty 2019 from Activision and Infinity Ward is already playable, waiting to be revealed soon.

After a leak for PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered from Pan European Game Information (PEGI) board was spotted back in February, rumors of third sequel to Modern Warfare sub-series was in the air.

Recently, Call of Duty series publisher Activision hosted an event inviting a few renowned athletes for a hands-on experience with their first-person shooter title who later confirmed it by sharing their images on social media.

Both the publisher and developer Infinity Ward remained coy about what they are about to unveil soon but considering the involvement of the latter, we either are on board for Call of Duty: Ghosts 2 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

Yesterday, high-profile American football athletes N'Keal Harry, Riley Ridley and Tajae Sharpe have each posted image from an official event organized by Activision and even though it is not yet officially announced yet, Call of Duty 2019 is apparently playable.

Whether or not 2019 Call of Duty turns out to be Modern Warfare 4, we probably will not have to wait too long since their yearly announcement for each CoD title usually comes in May and we are only a few days away from next month.

Though both Call of Duty: WWII and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 titles were very well-received from last two years, BO4 failed to catch traction it was aiming for with its unique Battle Royale mode Blackout despite its overall success.

It has also been confirmed earlier that single-player campaign are coming back to franchise, which would make series fans happy because many were upset after Black Ops 4 decided to exclude a story mode last year in favor of Battle Royale.

Seeing that Activision has already started campaign to create social media buzz for upcoming Call of Duty game for this year, players won't have to wait much longer to find out which sub-series sequel are they packing for 2019.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Leaked

A recent leak on European rating board PEGI suggests Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is coming soon.

Even though recent releases of first-person shooter franchise Call of Duty from publisher Activision are getting popular among masses these days; many seasoned players still yearns for classic taste of Modern Warfare sub-series.

Most recently, a brand-new listing of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered for PlayStation 4 platform was posted by Pan European Game Information (PEGI), which they eventually deleted shortly afterwards.

Although Activision has yet to announce a confirmation to make it official, a swift removal of this accidental listing only suggests MW2 Remastered is coming soon and probably is next in line of release; or else, what was the point then?

The title was listed as "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered", which means multiplayer component is a separate release. This also supports an early rumor of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to feature MW2 single-player campaign.

Modern Warfare storyline was concluded in 2011 by developer Infinity Ward with release of Modern Warfare 3 but it is very much possible for a MW4 release in mid-spring 2019 that includes MW2 single-player story mode into it.

When Activision bundled a limited edition version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare exclusively with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered, many fans that looked forward to a standalone release were greatly disappointed.

Another reason to get hyped to this leak is that 2019 marks 10th anniversary of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Original release of the game had a PEGI 18 rating on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which remains the same for rumored remastered version.
