Of course those numbers are very impressive for first year of a new digital distribution outlet but you can easily bet that a lion's share of that percentage has come from their free-to-play online shooter game Fortnite Battle Royale.

Most popular on Epic Store last year was Borderlands 3, Control, Metro Exodus, The Division 2, The Outer Worlds and World War Z. For 2020, they are planning to include Auto Chess, Godfall, Predator: Hunting Grounds and Rogue Company.

Grand Theft Auto 4 No Longer Selling on Steam

Over the weekend, Rockstar Games has pulled off selling for PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV on Steam, for now.

Almost like every other game from Grand Theft Auto series by developer/publisher Rockstar Games, 2008 action-adventure title Grand Theft Auto IV has made headlines for controversy and sold out millions of copies over its lifetime.

Most recently, GTA IV has been restricted from purchase for players on PC digital distribution storefront Steam without any prior announcement because the game is not supported on Games for Windows Live platform anymore.

A technical issue arises lately upon Microsoft deciding not to continue supporting a prominent online gaming feature that allowed players to cross-play between PC and Xbox 360 and for which, GTA IV was originally created for.

Now that their service is no longer available, Rockstar Games can't generate keys anymore to sell the game. Currently, they are considering any viable option to digitally distribute Grand Theft Auto 4 on PC once again in future.

RELATED: Crackdown 2 Developers Working on New Rockstar Game

Rockstar has released an official statement on inquiry of what made them take such a step all of a sudden.

Grand Theft Auto IV was originally created for the Games For Windows Live platform. With Microsoft no longer supporting Games For Windows Live, it is no longer possible to generate the additional keys needed to continue selling the current version of the game. We are looking at other options for distributing GTAIV for PC and will share more information as soon as we can.

After a marketplace shutdown notice back in 2013, Microsoft officially discontinued Games for Windows Live a year later. Although it was accessible through Steam, many developers have removed its system integration over time.

Rockstar has made sure that no one can buy a copy of GTA 4 on Steam but a product page is still up there and this latest issue with Windows Live services following its demise will now affect sales of its PC version on similar outlets.

RELATED: Red Dead Online May Have Teased Undead Nightmare

Last year, players faced issues regarding soundtracks for the title and developers stepped in to disable in-game music. Even though many have found ways to avoid losing access to licensed songs, similar treatment may arise for its sequels.

There have also been rumors of a planned remake or remastered version of GTA IV and its expansions to make them playable on modern consoles but it seems like Rockstar is more concerned with Grand Theft Auto VI right now.

Despite its sequel Grand Theft Auto V being one of the best-selling games of all time, there are still many who are in love with journey of protagonist Niko Bellic trying to find his place in Liberty City and would love to keep playing.

Upcoming action RPG game Elden Ring from From Software to be shown at Taipei Game Show 2020.

Right after HBO's fantasy drama TV series Game of Thrones ended; there was a rumor of its creator George R. R. Martin working with popular Japanese studio From Software that turns out to be upcoming action role-playing game Elden Ring.

Then an official announcement trailer was dropped back in E3 2019 and there has been no buzz about the game ever since until now but looks like, fans are going to see more of its RPG action next month at Taipei Game Show 2020.

This show will take place from February 6 to 9 and the dark fantasy title will be showcased during presentation by Sony. Although attendees won't be able to get a hands-on playing experience, a new footage will likely to get revealed.

At this point, people have no solid idea of what to expect from latest title of Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. Nevertheless, everyone is excited to see From Software attempting to explore open-world genre for very first time.

Elden Ring has been under development from 2017 right after Dark Souls III final DLC, The Ringed City was released. Given their past record of shipping games quickly, a release date set for this year will not be very much surprising at all.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Won't Have Mercenaries Mode and Multiple Endings

Upcoming Resident Evil 3 will not include Mercenaries Mode and multiple endings like 1999 original title.

We are only less than four months away from release of upcoming highly-anticipated survival horror game Resident Evil 3 Remake from developer/publisher Capcom for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 3, 2020.

Although RE3 is a remake of original 1999 game, it will undergo a few makeovers than last year's Resident Evil 2 Remake. A few features like fan-favorite Mercenaries mode and multiple endings will not make it to final version.

When news surrounding RE3 Remake has first emerged online, many fans assume to see return of Mercenaries mode but that hope is shot down in an interview with Capcom producers from recent issue of official PlayStation Magazine UK.

There were several unique endings in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, which would often occur when players would follow different paths willingly or sometime forcibly but developers bailed out on that as well in favor of a definitive main story.

Upon completion of RE3: Nemesis story mode, a mini-game mode titled "The Mercenaries: Operation Mad Jackal" would eventually unlock and task players to complete a bunch of objectives throughout Raccoon City in set time.

Players could take control of one of Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service members Carlos Oliveira, Mikhail Victor and Nikolai Zinoviev. This is more like an extended version of bonus modes from RE2 featuring HUNK and Tofu.

In latest reimagining of a classic, they are cutting off Mercenaries in favor of its asymmetrical multiplayer mode Resident Evil: Resistance that lets four players to take part as survivors against a fifth one taking role of a Mastermind.

Despite not being explorable as an open-world game, you will be able to explore city hospital, shops and streets in RE3. At one point, Jill will find herself into Raccoon City sewer system and come across returning enemies like mutant worms and such.

Other than being completely redesigned in a new avatar, Carlos Oliveira will be playable for an extended level than his original run. His role in getting a cure of T-virus from hospital will most likely be prolonged in latest iteration of the game.

Also, main antagonist character Nemesis would be based on model of Mr. X from RE2 but will receive an improved version of AI. Developers have created a lifelike version of the Tyrant monster to scan it using photogrammetry tech.

Unlike earlier, his appearance is not scripted or restricted on Raccoon City Police Department corridors anymore. Instead, he will now out without a leash and roaming around seeking for his primary target, former S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine.

Compared to brand-new online experience Project Resistance within Resident Evil universe, Mercenaries mode had significantly less content to work on and old-school RE3 fans who likes to play alone would surely miss it a lot.

Although Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil 3 doesn't offer much gameplay depth, it still is an enjoyable experience with nostalgic value. Therefore, getting rid of this unlockable mini-game from its remake actually makes less sense.

Dragon Quest XII Confirmed

In a recent Tweet on New Year, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii reveals working on Dragon Quest XII from 2019.

Almost two years after original release, acclaimed 2017 role-playing game Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age from developer/publisher Square Enix has managed to sell over 5.5 million copies worldwide by the end of 2019.

According to series creator Yuji Horii, production of Dragon Quest XII has been on a roll following up to that success. However, fans need not to be very excited as the anticipated JRPG sequel is not coming out anytime soon.

Horii stated that one of the achievements that he and his team had in 2019 is that they were able to start working on DQ XI sequel. His announcement is a clear confirmation of past reports that claim the game to be in currently in works.

It wasn't until last year, when an enhanced version of Dragon Quest XI saw launch on Nintendo Switch and that same year, protagonist character Hero became a playable character for crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In his New Year's message to fans, Horii has revealed development of DQ XII in a Tweet that has been translated later.

Last year we started with publishing the movie Dragon Quest: Your Story, then releasing the Switch version of Dragon Quest 11, the mobile version of DQ Walk, the announcement of The Adventure of Dai anime along with its game adaptation, the production of [DQ] 12 and more; even now after 33 years have passed since I made the 1st game, I feel very glad that I can do new challenges like these. Thank you very much to all users who have cheered on Dragon Quest until now, and also to all of the many staff members who have supported me. I don’t know how long I can go on, but I feel like I want to do my best just a little bit more. I hope this year will be an amazing year to everyone. I’m looking forward to work together in this year.

Aside from Dragon Quest series creator working on a follow-up title, recent success of Dragon Quest 11 has led to Square Enix teaming-up with developer Omega Force to launch action RPG sandbox building game Dragon Quest Builders 2 last year.

Considering usual duration of development cycles, Dragon Quest XII will not likely to come out before 2021 or later and when it does, it would probably see release on Switch, PC and PlayStation 5, since the latter is releasing in 2020.
