Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Event

The community event for Mortal Kombat 11 revealed new gameplay features, fatalities and the first female boss of MK series.

Before Mortal Kombat 11 was eventually announced at The Game Awards 2018, the latest installment from Mortal Kombat fighting game series was teased by game director Ed Boon and then hinted by an angry voice actor Eduardo Garza last year.

The inevitable announcement of the newest title promised to provide more details on the game during a community event on January 17, 2019 and the entire jam-packed show gave us a lot of information to get hyped up about the game until it releases.

Showcasing from gameplay videos, story trailer and new character introductions, developer NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment gave us loads of information on the next MK game during the reveal event at Los Angeles.

Fans already have the first look at the revamped design of Dark Raiden, Scorpion and pre-order bonus character Shao Kahn. However, the Mortal Kombat roster is obviously more than just three bad-ass fighters and more are yet to show up for sure.

Although the announcement was filled with plenty of gore, the official gameplay reveal trailer expands onto that and shows the improvement below.

The trailer marks the return of Baraka, Skarlet, Sonya Blade and Sub-Zero back to the newest conflict of MK franchise, each in a newly redefined avatar. Not only their outlook is changed, their moveset has been polished if not better than before.

Skarlet and Baraka has shown some of the most violent finishing moves on their defeated adversaries with the Imperial Bodyguard stabbing her enemy with hardened shards made of blood and War Chief of Tarkatan tribe biting off flesh from the bicep of Scorpion.

Of course, "Fatalities" are one of the unique aspects of attraction of the gameplay and here goes another trailer highlighting that.

It is obvious that the trademark fatalities of a fighter from any MK title will be full of bone breaking and flesh ripping aside from the stage getting covered in a pool of blood. Well, guess what? NetherRealm Studios have summed up an entire video full of that above for the upcoming release.

As usual, the developers got creative on making a bloody mess of each fighter at every given chance they had. All these gory showdown of kicking and screaming comes down to the gruesome finishes and to secure a flawless victory.

As we predicted earlier, Raiden goes full dark side this time and he will have no tolerance towards anyone who threatens Earthrealm. The God of Thunder decides to inflict a darker shade of justice by killing any enemies of the realm before they make any move.

Following the ending of Mortal Kombat X, a defeated Shinnok was taken in by the protector of Earthrealm to the Jinsei Chamber and endlessly torturing the old sorcerer. The fallen antagonist then points out to his captor that wearing his amulet, Raiden has changed for better.

When Shinnok reminds him that he cannot really kill an Elder God, the lightning states that there are fates worse than death before decapitating his head to deliver it to Liu Kang of Netherrealm as a sign of warning and then teleports away.

What he doesn't know is that a new, fearful enemy named Kronica arrives at the scene, who dubs herself as "The Keeper of Time" and wishes to destroy the now corrupt Elder God for upsetting balance and meddling with timeline itself by previously changing it.

One of the main characters throughout the series and the first female fighter, Sonya Blade gets a solo reveal trailer of her own.

Even before the reveal event, there was rumor on social media of former UFC champion and current WWE Women's Champion Ronda Rousey to voice for fan-favorite Sonya Blade, which definitely turn out to be true and fans are happy as well.

Rousey was present at the livestream stage presentation and you can also see her in recording studio voicing for the character. Given her career background is being of a renowned martial artist, we can see her fitting well into the shoes of this strong female character.

We all saw boss character Kronika at the end of the announcement trailer but newcomer Geras has remained a secret up until his official reveal.

Debuting straight to the eleventh installment from the mainline MK games, Geras is shown as a force of nature. Aside from the newly introduced villain Kronika, he has some control over time, which makes him a pretty intimidating and threatening opponent.

Geras has mostly displayed his ability of manipulating other than his superior fighting skills.
The untold origin of this mysterious character within the lore and how he gets in conflict with the protectors of Earthrealm is yet to be revealed.

By now, anyone who watched any of these video clips above already knows that recurring boss character Shao Kahn will be joining the fighters in the legendary death match as a pre-order bonus character but whether or not he has any involvement to the story is still unclear.

Pre-order for Mortal Kombat 11 is now available and the game will be released for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 23, 2019. We are hyped up with all of these exciting reveals and cannot wait to see Dark Raiden in action upon launch.

Artifact Loses 97% Players

Only two months after its debut, Valve's online card game Artifact has lost over 97% players and still declining.

For the past few years, Hearthstone was dominating the ever growing market of online digital collectible card game genre and Artifact has debuted in November 2018 as an answer to the game from developer/publisher Valve Corporation.

Sure, Valve has a history of delivering huge hits like Half-Life and Left 4 Dead franchise that fans still love till date but sadly for their latest release, not even card game players are showing any interest as it is currently facing a concurrent player drop.

Artifact Loses 97% Players

RELATED: Steam Top-Selling & Most Played Games 2018

Initially, the game has launched two months ago with a simultaneous players number of 60,740 at that time. By next month on December, it was surpassed by No Man's Sky on Steam and from ever since, that downward trend is showing no sign of stopping.

Seeing an all time low, their playerbase has come down to a drop of 97.5% in just two months after release and ranking at 145 on Steam Charts. Even Valve's first-person puzzle-platform and critically-acclaimed game of 2011, Portal 2 has more players online.

RELATED: Valve Rumored to Develop VR Headset for Half-Life Prequel

Apparently, the DOTA 2 inspired card game is failing to pick up any interest among players and there are a number of reasons for that. The crown-jewel of online card game is following a free-to-play model, whereas Artifact is charging everyone $19.99 only to buy the game.

However, fans who believed in the developer still took part in the alternative model but when it was revealed that you simply cannot get newer cards without spending real money; it sparked a huge wave of complaints within the community.

RELATED: Job Listing Suggests Left 4 Dead 3 in Development?

In the weeks that followed, it became very clear that Valve is not attracting new players to their anticipated online trading card game. Moreover, many angry people bombed the game's Steam page with negative reviews for their shoddy monetization scheme.

The developer tried to do damage control by adding balance and leveling where one could earn new decks by simply playing which was followed by an update that re-balanced some of the overpowered cards but it didn't help to impress their fallen playerbase.

RELATED: Artifact Adds Card Balance and Leveling

When Valve finally decided to return into making video games and roped in world-famous game designer Richard Garfield for the development of DOTA 2 based card game experience, people were genuinely hyped but seems like all of it was for seemingly nothing.

Artifact could have possibly made it if they chose to follow a free-to-play system rather than their widely criticized pay-to-play model on top of the staring fee of $19.99 bucks that no other title of the same genre has asked for ever, turning it into one of the most disappointing releases on Steam.

The Division 2 Private Beta Release Date

Ubisoft announces private beta for The Division 2 to start next month and pre-order will guarantee you a slot.

We are only months away from the release of upcoming online action role-playing game The Division 2, a sequel to The Division from developer Massive Entertainment and publisher Ubisoft on March 15, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

For those who want in to the private beta, it will become available from Thursday, February 7 to 10 and only a limited number of registered players who pre-orders the game will get beta keys to have the chance of receiving access to the program.

Since the first game of the series faced trouble during the launch and then glitches afterwards, the company is very cautious this time on how they would proceed. Whether or not you want to purchase in advance, registering online for a chance won't hurt.

The beta aims to introduce players to a shared-world for early gameplay experience and receive community feedback at the same time. Developers have also promised to deliver end-game raids as post-release downloadable content for free.

RELATED: The Division 2 Announced

Ubisoft has also released a story trailer for the game that sheds some more detail over the plot aside from some more info on the beta.

RELATED: The Division Movie Signed Deadpool 2 Director

The trailer suggests that beta will let players explore parts of Washington, D.C. as Division agents where the story takes place and fights a widespread smallpox pandemic spread by a radical group of terrorists from earliest story content.

Chances are, you may even allow access to selected section of the Dark Zone to fight each other but there is no confirmation about it though. However, the publishers promise to reveal more details on what to expect in it shortly before launching officially.

RELATED: The Division 2 Will Be on Epic Games Store, Not on Steam

Earlier, Ubisoft announced a partnership with Epic Games Store for releasing the PC version of the game on the platform instead of Steam. Players on PS4 and Xbox One can still find the game on PS Store and Microsoft Store upon release next month.

Based on the Tom Clancy universe of games, The Division 2 is an overall improvement on the 2016 original or tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege. To get the taste of a decent chunk of that, pre-order or sign up on any of the three available platforms for private beta.

Resident Evil 2 Remake Reveals HUNK & Tofu Bonus Modes

Fan-favorite 4th Survivor HUNK and The Tofu Survivor returns in bonus modes for upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Only two weeks ahead of the anticipated release of upcoming survival horror game Resident Evil 2 Remake, developer/publisher Capcom released a thirty minutes long "1-Shot" Demo to give a peak to eager fans of what is coming to them.

Of course, they received a huge number of great responses and it led to the developers showing off two additional playable characters HUNK and Tofu from the original survivor horror classic, something that was confirmed following the E3 2018 Reveal.

After rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield made it out of a zombie-infested Raccoon City with Sherry Birkin, there was an Umbrella secret operative named HUNK and his story was explored in the unlockable scenario "The Fourth Survivor".

Nicknamed "Grim Reaper", this special agent of Umbrella Security Service was the fourth person to survive the events of Raccoon City incident upon completing his mission to collect G-Virus sample from researcher William Birkin before escaping through a chopper.

Intended to test collision detection for RE2, secret character Tofu appeared in his own bonus minigame "The Tofu Survivor", a more challenging and parodied version of The Fourth Survivor but follows an exact same playthrough.

As a life-sized equivalent of a Tofu, the character wielded a combat knife and a few herbs in a non-canon story of it attempting to go through the same path HUNK followed. Unlike "The 4th Survivor", this one is the hardest mission within the title that was meant for experts.

In the previous incarnation, Tofu used to wear S.T.A.R.S. hat and had a pair of floating gloves holding the knife instead of hands but the remake version will either have the weapon float around or could also be physically attached to it.

The character also had a color change from off-white to a bloody red as a health level indicator for taking damage. Apparently, everyone's beloved bean curd will be taking visible physical damage where chunks of it would seem to have been bitten off.

Resident Evil 2 "1-Shot" Demo Out Now

The "1-Shot" Demo for Resident Evil 2 is here and you have to survive the Raccoon City experience in a short time.

Over the years, developer/publisher Capcom has remade and re-released many of their survival horror titles from Resident Evil series over to various video game platforms and the latest in the line is the upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Even though RE2Make is only weeks from release on January 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, fans can hardly wait for it. So, a "1-Shot" Demo is offered to players considering that to keep them from falling from the edge of their seats and currently available for everyone.

RELATED: Resident Evil 2 Remake May Have Micro-Transactions

All you have is just thirty minutes to do whatever you want to or can do with the demo and within that in-game time, you can play as many times as you can. As soon as the clock runs out, the demo is over and that's it.

So, you have to pay attention to your actions and keep a watch on your time to maximize your overall experience as a survivor of zombie-apocalypse. Probably, if we offer you a couple of tips that might come in handy to even the odds you face out there.

Scavenge Supplies
It would be wise of you to look around in each room of Raccoon City Police Department to seek out useful items for survival like First Aid Sprays, Green Herbs, and ammunition. Yes, your time is limited but some useful or important stuff can go unnoticed if you just quickly rush through.

The in-game map can be very useful to tell if there is still something within a room that you haven't found out yet. Red rooms are the one that has some object you haven't come across and other discovered items that players didn't pick up will also be highlighted there.

Stay Alive
Though dying will not end the demo and you can continue as much as you like within the set timeframe of half an hour, the clock is not going back anyhow and that is why, you should try to keep your hero character alive and in kicking form.

If you happen to get bit by a zombie and loose health, the amazing Green Herb of Arklay Mountains can restore some of your health and mixing it with Red Herb will do better. However, a First Aid Spray alone can restore your full life even if it is hanging by a thread.

RELATED: Resident Evil 2 Remake Introduces Lickers

Fight or Evade
Contrary to what you have gone through in the original RE2, zombies are tougher than ever and will not go down easily. They most probably won't stay down even after you shoot them down multiple times. So, try to put a bullet on their head to keep them from coming back.

Since you want your head attached to shoulder and there is a clock ticking already, the wise thing to do is run away from the undeads lurking around to save time and not let them all jump on you at once. Also, look for wooden boards to block windows before they get the drop on you.

Explore the Map
Established after renovating the former art museum, the newly-formed R.P.D. is a mighty big place and it is easy to get confused about where to go when. The best way to make the most of the demo would be to keeping it within the first floor.

Until you meet Lieutenant Marvin Branagh, look for red lights on computer screens and shutter controls to find your way around. Whatever objectives players have at hand it can be sorted out by taking a look at the map in most cases.

RELATED: Resident Evil 2 Remake Ada Wong First Look

Look for Puzzles
The 1998 survival horror classic had a lot of puzzle scattered around for players to solve that involved collecting a bunch of key items from different places and so does the RE2 Remake. Take a moment and have a closer look at whatever you have gathered so far.

In case if you are wondering about time, the demo clock stops when you enter a menu and that takes a pressure off from players to switch and shuffle the stuffs they collected and safely investigate without worrying about clock ticking out anytime soon.

This second sequel of the franchise has twice the amount of content than its predecessor Last Light and Artyom's wife, Anna is returning to take part in the action while she narrates their current status quo where she no longer remembers what life was like before.

A few other characters were given a short glimpse of and it seems like they all have gotten involved in some sort of power struggle that forced them to leave the safety of their former sanctuary and go out in the open dystopia.

Deep Silver and Microsoft has also announced Metro Saga Xbox One X Bundle that comes with a 1TB console with the entire trilogy from the series, now available for pre-order. This is a great way to catch up to the prior titles before jumping on board with the latest release.

Metro Exodus will be competing with some of the major titles like Anthem, Crackdown 3 and Far Cry: New Dawn in a jam-packed February 2019 release window. However, given the dedicated fan-following they have, it can still fare on its own.

Blizzard Confirms Overwatch Soldier: 76 to Be Gay

Blizzard subtly confirms another Overwatch hero to be a LGBTQ character within the fictional universe but there is more!

Although team-based multiplayer first-person shooter title Overwatch is not a game where players dive in for some story, it is really nice to enjoy when developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment adds a little bit of lore with animated shorts or single issue comics.

This adds back-story to certain characters and helps establish the fictional world the game is set on, which is one of the reasons why those little pieces mean a lot. Blizzard has come up with a short story titled "Bastet" that has to do with the sexuality of a character from Overwatch universe.

The new visual story "Bastet" (not a comic though) bounty hunter Ana meets Jack Morrison AKA Soldier: 76 on the streets of Cairo and takes him to her hideout as he was wounded. None of them knew if the other is alive until this point following the destruction of their headquarters in Switzerland.

Jack was reminiscing about the old days and handed her a small stack of photos where she noticed a dark-haired man by his side in one of them. Jack identifies the person as Vincent, someone he had a relationship with when he was younger and then the plot continues.

Previously, Blizzard has revealed the sexuality of their Damage hero Tracer from the known universe, where she is depicted to be a lesbian through a comic-book during Christmas 2016 that was about her spending holiday time with her girlfriend Emily.

However, the matter of LGBTQ representation in case of Soldier: 76 seem a bit out of place and unsatisfying. The confirmation from lead writer of the game Michael Chu about the relationship of Jack and Vincent feels a lot like J.K. Rowling's proclamation about Dumbledore being gay all along.

If you have been following up about Blizzard Entertainment lately, then you already know that they are having a bad time with the fans right after the Diablo Immortal debacle from BlizzCon 2018 and then many of their original founders are leaving the company now after massive stock plummeting.

Most recently, the hero shooter faced a scandal surrounding a fake Overwatch player named Ellie who leaves the league team Second Wind due to harassment but then turn out to be a "social experiment" set up by streamers.

So, even though the developers were quick to jump off to tackle this strange situation and confirmed Soldier: 76 to be gay is not because they are so diverse and inclusive about the game's cast but to score some virtue signaling points from minor communities.

Of course, it matters a lot to players from LGBTQ community, many of whom can now relate to the character more than ever and will even feel more driven towards Overwatch but without any previous indication of his sexuality anywhere else only makes their desperation obvious to everyone.
