World War Z PvPvZ Mode

Outlive the dead and living in action-packed "Player Vs. Player Vs. Zombie" mode of upcoming co-op shooter World War Z.

Set within the same universe of the titular live-action movie of 2013, third-person shooter game World War Z from developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive offers much more gameplay aspects than its genre.

Aside from tackling post-apocalyptic horror of massive zombie hordes, there will be a PvP multiplayer mode but unlike their typical counterparts, the studio chose to go on a different route to make things interesting for everyone.

You can check out a preview of how the PvPvZ mode will work out in WWZ in the official trailer below.

A number of competitive team-based combat systems are shown in the trailer and each unique type has something exciting to offer to players. Both "Scavenge Raid" and "Vaccine Hunt" are two objective based plays as their name suggests.

Swarm Deathmatch are for two groups of survivors to effectively try and eliminate others with zombies constantly getting into the mix to make things difficult than it already is. Swarm Domination is about capturing a zone by overtaking all obstacles to win points.

King of the Hill is for either of the teams to secure a key vantage point to get advantage over enemies. Outlive the dead in a four-player cooperative effort to establish your territory over every hostile party that opposes you.

Undoubtedly, the in-game world of the title has a lot of potential to create a legacy of its own and Saber Interactive decided to play with that idea a little bit by introducing a new PvP game mode into the mix between the hunters and the hunted.

Survivors will band together in exploring Jerusalem, New York and Moscow for refuge and supplies while fighting the undead on the go. Zombies in the game are not just fast and relentless; they can easily overwhelm a group in a few moments.

Even though World War Z has no official release date announced yet, the game is set to launch in 2019 for PC exclusively via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. WWZ is clearly looking to live up to Max Brooks' original novel it is based on and more.

Despite being set in the universe of Titanfall, there will not be any Titans to hop on, so expect no wall running and no slide hopping. However, Apex Legends will take place right after the events in Titanfall 2 if you are wondering.

Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Event

The community event for Mortal Kombat 11 revealed new gameplay features, fatalities and the first female boss of MK series.

Before Mortal Kombat 11 was eventually announced at The Game Awards 2018, the latest installment from Mortal Kombat fighting game series was teased by game director Ed Boon and then hinted by an angry voice actor Eduardo Garza last year.

The inevitable announcement of the newest title promised to provide more details on the game during a community event on January 17, 2019 and the entire jam-packed show gave us a lot of information to get hyped up about the game until it releases.

The trailer marks the return of Baraka, Skarlet, Sonya Blade and Sub-Zero back to the newest conflict of MK franchise, each in a newly redefined avatar. Not only their outlook is changed, their moveset has been polished if not better than before.

Skarlet and Baraka has shown some of the most violent finishing moves on their defeated adversaries with the Imperial Bodyguard stabbing her enemy with hardened shards made of blood and War Chief of Tarkatan tribe biting off flesh from the bicep of Scorpion.

It is obvious that the trademark fatalities of a fighter from any MK title will be full of bone breaking and flesh ripping aside from the stage getting covered in a pool of blood. Well, guess what? NetherRealm Studios have summed up an entire video full of that above for the upcoming release.

As usual, the developers got creative on making a bloody mess of each fighter at every given chance they had. All these gory showdown of kicking and screaming comes down to the gruesome finishes and to secure a flawless victory.

As we predicted earlier, Raiden goes full dark side this time and he will have no tolerance towards anyone who threatens Earthrealm. The God of Thunder decides to inflict a darker shade of justice by killing any enemies of the realm before they make any move.

Following the ending of Mortal Kombat X, a defeated Shinnok was taken in by the protector of Earthrealm to the Jinsei Chamber and endlessly torturing the old sorcerer. The fallen antagonist then points out to his captor that wearing his amulet, Raiden has changed for better.

When Shinnok reminds him that he cannot really kill an Elder God, the lightning states that there are fates worse than death before decapitating his head to deliver it to Liu Kang of Netherrealm as a sign of warning and then teleports away.

What he doesn't know is that a new, fearful enemy named Kronica arrives at the scene, who dubs herself as "The Keeper of Time" and wishes to destroy the now corrupt Elder God for upsetting balance and meddling with timeline itself by previously changing it.

Even before the reveal event, there was rumor on social media of former UFC champion and current WWE Women's Champion Ronda Rousey to voice for fan-favorite Sonya Blade, which definitely turn out to be true and fans are happy as well.

Rousey was present at the livestream stage presentation and you can also see her in recording studio voicing for the character. Given her career background is being of a renowned martial artist, we can see her fitting well into the shoes of this strong female character.

Celeste Developers Cancelled Making Skytorn

Developers of Celeste cancelled their new 2D Metroidvania action game Skytorn, years in the making.

Noel Berry was the co-developer of 2018 platformer video game Celeste alongside Matt Thorson, which ended up winning in the "Best Independent Game" category at The Game Awards 2018 aside from receiving universal acclaim from critics.

He was also working on another Metroidvania game titled Skytorn from five years ago and the development was postponed for the making of the best indie title of last year but Berry always said that he would finish the game in future, until now.

People who knew about the project were very excited for it and the team behind the game invested a lot of time into it but unfortunately, they have come to the decision of not finishing the game anymore. It was mostly because they never figured out what they were making.

Even after working on it for years, they couldn't progress because they were developing a game without permadeath and that is contradictory with the themes of Metroidvania. At this point, it will require them to throw away a huge chunk of code and gameplay design.

However, he assured that he is sticking together with the "Celeste" team as they will be adding some very hard new "Farewell Levels" to the game according to an announced earlier and will also be working on their upcoming title.

It is really a shame seeing all that beautiful sprites and level design going away in waste as Skytorn really had the potential to become the next indie blockbuster. Hopefully, the entire team will be able to move on with their next project at hand and implement this learning experience.

Joker from Persona 5 Comes to Catherine: Full Body

Catherine: Full Body introduces Persona 5's Phantom Thief, Joker as a playable character in latest trailer.

Not long after the announcement of adding Joker from role-playing game Persona 5 to crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at The Game Awards 2018 as the 76th fighter of the game, developer/publisher Atlus came forward with more plans for him.

Joker will be a part of Catherine: Full Body, which is an upcoming remastered version of 2011 puzzle platformer video game Catherine from the same company, currently scheduled to release on February 14, 2019 for Japan only.

Joker, the protagonist from the popular JRPG title will be a playable character and his involvement to the fray was announced back in September 2018 along with a few other related contents and the gameplay video was meant to display his playing style.

Whereas we usually see Vincent trying to climb his way to the top of never-ending series of towered blocks, the Phantom Thief makes it look easier with precision and his quick speed, which make it seems like he is meant for solving this sort of haunted puzzles.

Catherine: Full Body adds a brand-new character Rin to cause a friction between two other main characters, Catherine and Katherine. She is a pianist from Stray Sheep and players can choose from 11 different vocals to be her voice in the Japanese release.

Aside from teasing his appearance, Atlus never revealed whether the game will arrive on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita worldwide same time as they will on Japan or would come at a later date. Same can be said about the arrival of Joker in a DLC when the game finally launches.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Adds Kage

A brand-new character Kage joins the roster of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition for Season 4 from December 16.

After the Arcade Edition of fan-favorite fighting game Street Fighter V released for PC and PlayStation 4 earlier this year, developer/publisher Capcom had a great run with it and professional players on many tournaments and fans loved it.

To show appreciation to the community folks, they have created a brand-new character named Kage out of the shadow of Satsui no Hado, the evil force that is rooted inside Akuma and he will join the roster from the very beginning of the next season.

Below is an official trailer that showcased the reveal of the character and some of his gameplay features you can check out in advance.

Initially, Kage may look a lot like Evil Ryu nor is he a revamped skin but he definitely is not and is something very different. When Ryu has rejected to embrace the power of Satsui no Hado, the physical embodiment of it has taken form and become Kage.

Ryu actually has the dark power of Satsui no Hado within him and whenever he lets it take over his persona altogether, he becomes Evil Ryu. When this persona takes over, he is on a path of destruction under the influence of the dark force.

For years, he has been desperately trying to keep it at bay so that it cannot consume him entirely and now has overcome the weight of that power. However, Satsui no Hado decides to chose a path of its own and rises in the form of Kage.

Following his transformation, the character puts up a brutal display of his raw power against opponents like Akuma, Ryu and Sagat, destroying each of them one by one by unleashing his moves on them in battle with ruthless efficiency.

Capcom has also released another video solely focused on the gameplay of Kage with more details on his moveset.

Kage has variation of Hadoken fireballs inspired from both Akuma and Ryu that he can conjure up. He also has the axe kick, Ryusokyaku of Evil Ryu while being able to deliver shoryuken uppercut and a spinning kick to the opponent.

The Critical Arts and V-triggers in him are just two other powerful attack Taigyaku Mudo and Shun Goku Satsu to throw his opponents off balance. The latter is the similar move to the Raging Demon that Akuma uses but is specifically modified for the character here.

RAGE 2 Release Date

New trailer of RAGE 2 revealed at Game Awards 2018 showcases the open-world wasteland that players will enter on May, 2019.

Initially the reveal of upcoming first-person shooter title RAGE 2 was sort of fun filled with the leak from Walmart listing and then the reveal video getting leaked out but the kind of hype came with it kind of died down after the showcase at E3 2018.

Now that they are wrapped up launch of Just Cause 4 for Square Enix, developer Avalanche Studios and publisher Bethesda Softworks has released a new gameplay trailer for a game that was long abandoned for years, at The Game Awards 2018.

The protagonist Ranger will go to raid bandit outposts, run races or may destroy a convoy and each time, some new mayhem will present itself for him to take care of and improve his bond with some of the key characters throughout the story.

You'd thing that a post-asteroid world would be less crowded but gangs of adrenaline junkies and mutants will prove you wrong. Although a sequel to 2010 release Rage, you will have hard time comparing the tones even though the time has shifted a lot within the game.

Another thing that can have you baffled is that where on Earth did these scumbags found all those fancy convoys and guns? Have you seen them in action already? The middle-sized cars that you see around can tear through decent barricades.

Factions like Immortal Shrouded and the Goon Squad patrolling the areas will open up opportunities for you to engage in some spectacular vehicular combat. Have we also mentioned about the boomerang weapon called the Wingstick? It is super-awesome!

Events will come, enemies will cross path to get into a shootout and you will turn the wasteland into a bloody playground. Even with all that guns blazing and limbs of the enemies getting splattered on everywhere, you can realize at one point that a colorful post-apocalypse doesn't look that scary at all.

With a massive open-world map that allows you to go anywhere and blow stuff up, all the game lacks at this point is probably a co-op play. And you know what the best part is? There are no load times now! So, go crazy and blow something up!

RAGE 2 now has an official launch date of May 14, 2019, when it will be released worldwide on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Surprisingly, that is actually pretty sooner that what fans expected and haven't actually hoped anything like it. However, this one is definitely a welcomed one.

Bethesda is having a pretty hard time these days following the unsuccessful release of their online action role-playing game Fallout 76 and the PR disasters they are facing for the title on a daily basis. Hopefully, Avalanche Studios can help them redeem themselves from this shipwreck.

The internet was quick to point out the teaser trailer probably is hinting at the endings of Far Cry 5, the latest standalone title in the series and guess what? They were actually right. The newest standalone sequel to FC5 is announced, titled Far Cry New Dawn.
