One Piece: World Seeker Announcement Trailer

Bandai Namco has recently revealed that their long time secret project under the name “Project Dawn” was actually an open-world action adventure video game based on the hit Japanese manga and anime series One Piece. Titled "World Seeker", this game was originally planned to release in Japan for PlayStation 4 but then Namco changed their mind and decided to bring Monkey D. Luffy and his band of Straw Hat Pirates to America and Europe for PC and Xbox One as well.

These are some news that got out a few days ago and Bandai Namco was generous enough to release a few high-quality screenshots of this upcoming game. They showed the first announcement trailer at Jump Festa 2018, Tokyo and even though the trailer was short, it makes the One Piece fans truly happy.

Previously, the trailer was shown to the audience of the venue on the screen, which was the only available footage from the game but now we have a better look at it. One Piece: World Seeker seems to be set on One Piece-like in-game universe where our lovable protagonist Luffy feels like home. Just as we saw him travel throughout the world and take on new adventures all these years on the pages of manga or on anime, he does the same on World Seeker.

Instead of having the hand-drawn animation feeling of Luffy and his band of Straw Hat Pirates, the in-game design is more 3D-esque but that's not essentially a bad thing. Though Bandai Namco couldn't release the game this year, which was the 20th anniversary of the One Piece manga, they made sure that the fans of the Straw Hat Pirates at least gets a look at the upcoming title.

One Piece: World Seeker is going to be released on some point of 2018 and it will be available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will see first opening debut on Japan for PlayStation 4 and then the western release will see it hitting on two other consoles afterwards.

One Piece: World Seeker Announced

Bandai Namco is a video game developer company that produced games like Tales of Berseria and Tekken series. One Piece on the other hand is a very popular Japanese manga series that has also been adapted into an anime. Referring it as “Project Dawn”, Bandai Namco has been working on it for some time and recently they have announced to bring a new game based on One Piece titled "One Piece: World Seeker" for PlayStation 4 in Japan.

Namco also revealed later that they are also releasing the game for America and Europe on PC and Xbox One too. As for a release date, all we know that the game is going to come out at some point in 2018 and nothing more than that. One Piece: World Seeker will be an open-world action adventure experience of Monkey D. Luffy and his band of Straw Hat Pirates.

To throw us a little bone, Bandai Namco's official Twitter account has posted these four brand-new screenshot of the game.

Since Luffy goes around the world looking for his ultimate treasure, players will be allowed to take his role and roam into castles, cities, beaches and other diverse locations of an expansive world. To be honest, this is how a proper One Piece game should be made. With the backlash experience Namco previously had with One Piece: Burning Blood, World Seeker is to be considered as their major comeback to play.

The reason to develop this latest One Piece video game title is to 20th anniversary of the One Piece manga and the open-world nature of the game will be a perfect way to represent the true spirit of the franchise. We can expect to see the first trailer clip for One Piece: World Seeker within December 16 to 17 during the Jump Festa 2018 at Japan.
