Job Listing Suggests Horizon Zero Dawn Sequel in Development?

Recent job postings by Guerrilla Games hint at an anticipated sequel of Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5.

Throughout this year, developer Guerrilla Games has celebrated two major milestones for their 2017 action role-playing game Horizon Zero Dawn; its second anniversary of release on PlayStation 4 and selling over 10 million copies worldwide.

Back in April 2019, a sequel to HZD was confirmed to be in works by voice actress Janina Gavankar (Sleepy Hollow, True Blood) of its Frozen Wilds DLC but now a recent job listing has made it clear that her claims are likely to be true.

A number of vacancies have been sighted recently on official website of the Dutch developer and they stated for post of a Technical Vegetation Artist, "We have four teams dedicated to creating the stunning environments of Horizon".

Hired designer would require creating vegetation assets for in-game world and it may be for Horizon Zero Dawn 2, unless they are working on new release from Killzone series or RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, which is very much unlikely.

Besides, HZD had a lush environment full of jungle and freezing forests for most part, which is not a relatable case for their other known IPs. Since they have an established gameplay foundation at hand, HZD2 may see release in 2023.

A single mention of their biggest game and a job posting is not essentially a clear hint for anything related to a sequel but assembling a new crew is clearly an indication of something new that is going to be a platform exclusive.

Now that Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a release window for PlayStation 5 to be holiday season 2020, there are a lot of rumor and speculations over which titles will make debut on their next-generation console.

Reportedly, many developer studios are already working on their upcoming projects for Sony's new console and even though nothing is officially confirmed yet, it would only make sense for Guerrilla Games to work on a sequel for PS5.

Despite being a commercial success, HZD only received a single DLC in November 2017 without any follow-up. However, Guerrilla can surely improve over its sequel using improved features of PlayStation 5, while boosting unit sales for the console.

Horizon Zero Dawn launched on February 28, 2017 to receive critical acclaim for character development and a gripping story. It is the fifth best-selling PS4-exclusive title ahead of God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

PC player base of Borderlands 3 are seeking help on Steam forum for Borderlands 2 regarding several issues.

After building up a lot of anticipation, developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K Games has finally released Borderlands 3 last week for PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but is suffering from a series of issues.

Shortly after the game was announced, an accidental Tweet has revealed in advance that latest installment of popular looter shooter franchise Borderlands will be an Epic Store-exclusive and PC gaming community become furious.

Initially, a legion of angry fans started review bombing on Steam when that news came out and Valve had to take action by flagging them as off-topic review activity, something that Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford made quite a deal about.

Back then they were mad because of valid concerns and now things are slowly unfolding as Gearbox has apparently released a rushed product within a set release window that remains half-baked, rather than taking time and fixing it.

People are facing all sorts of problems from lack of DirectX 12 support, frame-rate drops, performance issue and even some of them losing their save files. Some are having trouble with FPS drops regardless of having best graphics settings.

Fans are heading to Steam to talk about issues they are facing because Epic Games Store nether have any forums or user review section. They are only going there in hopes to talk to someone who might have found a solution and can help.

Many users are redirecting them to Gearbox Software official forums since no one has a solution for these problems yet. Developers are reportedly looking into it and affected users are advised to log a ticket at official support of 2K Games.

Borderlands 3 having problem is just not an opinion of sentimental PC players who are not happy about EGS but are facing genuine problem. Even many reviewers gave it a poor score due to those same issues they faced playing earlier.

Despite majority of disappointed fans of the game are being from PC platform, BL3 has player complains from consoles as well. Industry experts are suggesting to trade graphics for frame-rates, which is completely unacceptable for a new game.

Some players have initially reported for facing trouble streaming because they didn't had super fast internet and Gearbox has put Denuvo in the game, an online DRM that takes up a lot of their bandwidth and ruining their experience.

Even players on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X suffered from frame-rate drops that require a patch very soon. Hopefully, Borderlands 3 will try to and get better in next six months or by the time a finished version finally arrives on Steam.

Switch seemed to be able to run ports of graphically superior games like Doom and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus in past but it has struggled with open-world games like Saints Row: The Third, which turns out to be a disappointment.

CD Projekt Red is currently busy with their upcoming release Cyberpunk 2077 and even though it has not been announced for Switch, the success of Witcher 3 may lead CDPR to consider a port of CP2077 as well if that is even remotely possible.

The Division 2 Adds Gunner Specialization

Tom Clancy tactical shooter title The Division 2 adds new Gunner specialization within SHD Agents ranks.

Other than mostly being a tactical shooter, The Division 2 has action role-playing aspects and skill system in place for players to focus on. Already three different specializations are deployed so far and the game just added another one.

A fourth Specialist, Gunner is recruited this month as a tank within squad alongside previously added Demolitionist, Sharpshooter and Survivalist class to wreck havoc on the streets of Washington, D.C. and help reclaim it.

Signature weapon for Gunner would be a powerful minigun and receive bonus armor depending on Specialization ammunition amount, when activated. Only downside is Gunner can't go for cover, roll or even vault when drawing weapon.

Though lack of cover would be a disadvantage for any Division agents but that has been compensated with wave of bullets at their disposal. Considered a vanguard for fellow SHD Agents, they have great prominence in both inflicting and sustaining damage.

Gunner has a new skill tree, P320 XCompact sidearm and Banshee Signature Skill to confuse enemies. It will make them coming out of cover and unsettled, only to get blasted into bits or get trapped in place by special Riot Foam grenade.

Unlocking this new specialization class would require players to complete Special Field Research, which are five stages of in-game challenges. Taking on objectives will offer you rewards and allow access of Gunner with newest signature weapon.

The Witcher 3 for Nintendo Switch Leaked

Port for acclaimed action RPG game The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch may have been leaked via an online listing.

Based on fantasy novels of Andrzej Sapkowski, developer/publisher CD Projekt has established action role-playing game series The Witcher and its grown popularity has even led to a live-action TV series on streaming giant Netflix.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was the third installment of its trilogy and probably most critically acclaimed among the franchise. According to a recent leak from ResetEra, this open world RPG is about to arrive on Nintendo Switch anytime soon.

Apparently, multiple listings of the game on Asian online marketplaces were freshly spotted with a visible Switch logo on Taobao.com, a shopping site under Alibaba, image of which was later posted on ResetEra forum.

Translation from source reveals that sellers are listing The Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition for a possible Switch port. There are also heavy chances of it turning out to be a streamable version and probability of it being exclusive to Japan.

In general, such leaks are advised to be taken with a grain of salt but since more than one outlet has listed it as an upcoming Switch game on their site, it may no longer be a mere gossip and might get an announcement at E3 2019.

Even though Polish video game studio CD Projekt Red is currently busy working on their upcoming anticipated RPG title Cyberpunk 2077, a surprise announcement during their E3 appearance could also be a part of the show.

RELATED: The Witcher Author Demands More Royalties

Lately, Switch has surpassed total sales of PlayStation 4 in Japan and plans to sell another 18 million units until next year, which clearly demands for new titles including ports of exiting third-party games from PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Although this next-gen handheld console has already run games such as Doom, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, running port of a high-caliber game like The Witcher 3 on Switch would be quite a feat.

RELATED: Netflix's The Witcher TV Series Casts Revealed

Fans and players are worried for such a technically demanding game that usually requires one to have a high-spec PC to properly run it would only led to a massive graphical downgrade when ported to Nintendo handheld system.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt debuting on Nintendo Switch would give it a great exposure to a completely new demographic and having to play it on the go only makes it more appealing for Switch owners, which can be a great selling point.
