Rainbow Six Siege Instant Bans for Toxicity

In order to deal with slurs and toxicity in Siege, Ubisoft placed a strict moderation system as a step towards healthy community.

Online toxicity is a major issue these days that it cannot be ignored for any reasons. It often ruins the experience in multiplayer online games for many players. Big name companies like Blizzard, Riot Games and Twitch are on a constant battle with this huge issue but we saw Sea of Thieves handling it like a pro with their unique anti-toxicity strategy back in March 2018 to re-establish order. Recently, Rainbow Six Siege has taken a stance of on this topic but in a very strict way.

With the goal of eradicating hate speech from their tactical shooter game for a healthy playing environment, developer Ubisoft has placed a stern moderating system lately that will detect players using racist slurs, homophobic slurs and any other form of hate speeches against other participants online and will place an immediate ban. It has already started implementing bans on players and is pretty quick in handling the penalty whenever it spots slurs within game’s chat.

For your first offense, you are kicked out for 30 minutes, then it is for 2 hours and following your third time, an official investigation will run over your account which can lead to a permanent ban as well. Yesterday, one curious Reddit user wanted to test "Toxicity Filter" by typing a slur and almost instantly got removed from the match with a ban according to new Code of Conduct for Siege. While some tried to complain on Twitter, Ubisoft was unfazed about their actions.

Whether you are playing Terrorist Hunt or custom games, you could be automatically kicked out of Siege anytime using slurs. Back in April, developers promised to introduce a few features to prevent people from using abusive language during a match. They were about to mute chat text and improve the monitoring system with a chat filter. However, it turned out to be quite different than what everyone thought. Instead of censor texts in chat through an automated system, they are simply removing players.

RELATED: Rainbow Six Siege's Blood Orchid is Bugged

Also, this course of action is currently limited to players on PC, where the monitoring runs rampant. Sony and Microsoft will have to handle the situation on available console platform according to their own policy for community. Siege has an all-time high number of player counts in PC during March and cleaning up in-game environment of abusive language will make the atmosphere more welcoming for new gamers to the title. We believe necessary steps will be taken against hackers next.

Following this stern movement against hate speech, many are really appreciating this initiative while other people are upset for not being able to use those words anymore. However, this feature can easily be misused by someone provoking their competitor into engaging in hate talk and get the boot. Currently in Season 3 of content, Rainbow Six Siege was released back in 2015 from Ubisoft to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Star Wars Battlefront II Removes Emperor Palpatine

Following a recent update on last week, Emperor Palpatine is removed from Star Wars Battlefront II for now.

Last year's action shooter game Star Wars Battlefront II from EA Dice and Electronic Arts was one of the most hyped titles before release for adding characters from all three trilogies of films but was heavily bashed later for locking them behind pay-walls. Developers and publishers have eventually come to settlement with the fanbase and players were able to play with Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and many others. However, a recent update has apparently removed Emperor Palpatine from the game.

There is no doubt that director George Lucas has created a sci-fi phenomenon of ages with his Star Wars movie series. Many of the characters from the lore become renowned pop-culture icons over years and the antagonists of this franchise are no less popular than the good guys. One such fellow is Emperor Sheev Palpatine of the Galactic Empire and he was part of Battlefront II as well. Scoring a certain amount of points let the players unlock him from the roster.

Just like how audience discovered Palpatine to be a menacing villain in The Empire Strikes Back, he proved to be a very powerful character in the game too. His remarkable ability to use Force-Lightning for electrocuting enemies in the battlefield turns out to be chargeable through walls, which gives players an unfair advantage over opponents. Then he was nerfed down so that he couldn't do intangible attacks. An update on July 4th was about to tune it right but ended up removing him.

Many players and YouTuber communities initially believed that the update probably brought back his previous zapping abilities, even though it was actually designed to work better with close range enemies. EA Dice responded throughout official forums saying, Palpatine is currently removed and despite this being a huge decision to keep him from the game, the Sith Lord will not be deployed again until they can come up with a tweak that take cares of the problem.

"We plan to execute our Kill Switch (KS) for him. This means he will be removed from the game. He will be disabled until a hotfix can be deployed. We don’t take this decision lightly, but we feel it is in the best interest for everyone until a fix can be deployed."

It has been a week players haven't seen or heard from The Emperor and nor are they sure when will he return again to Battlefront II in full form because currently, he is still available to play offline. Unfortunately, it looks like Darth Sidious himself has gotten under his infamous Order 66 by Dice for now. Bringing changes to online games for balance is nothing new but the way EA has been handling matters related to Star Wars Battlefront II from the start is quite ridiculous.

Darksiders 3 Release Date Leaked

Microsoft Store might have unintentionally leaked the release date for upcoming hack and slash action-adventure Darksiders III.

One of the most anticipating game news action-adventure fans were dying to hear was something new about Darksiders III. This upcoming hack and slash title from Gunfire Games and THQ Nordic have players waiting eagerly to get a glimpse of a new gameplay, trailer or news of a release date during E3 2018 press conference but got nothing so far. However, looks like we have a launch date ahead of us this year on November 27, 2018, courtesy of a recent Microsoft Store leak.

The first game of the series, Darksiders came out in 2010 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, where players assume the role of War in an apocalyptic future. Since he arrived at work pretty early, he messed up and got into trouble. A sequel, Darksiders II was released in 2012 where Death of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, tries clearing out his brother's name. It was available for all platforms mentioned above including PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox One before going into a six-year hiatus.

RELATED: Darksiders III Announcement Trailer

The third entry of the fan-favorite series, Darksiders III features Fury, a whip-wielding female "Horseman". She came back to the same war-torn Earth to finish what her brothers' started; seek out and destroy the Seven Deadly Sins. This feminine iteration of a Horseman the story is probably to replace the fabled Famine, because starvation apparently doesn't suit very much for an action-adventure hack and slash game. Compared to a whip lashing protagonist, it would seem lame.

The title was initially stuck into development hell for a long period of time from 2012 as original developer of the franchise; Vigil Games was shut down due to its parent company THQ going completely bankrupt. In 2013, Nordic Games bought the rights to the game series to work on it suggesting it won't come out before two years. Then on May 2, 2017, the title was accidentally revealed through a leak from Amazon listing, a day before it was officially announced by the publisher.

Despite the product page of the game at Microsoft Store showing a November 27 release date in the first place, now it has been replaced by saying "Coming Soon". Considering Darksiders III is only four months away from release and the news is already out, an official announcement from THQ will probably arrive soon. When the game was not showcased on E3 event last month, many believed that it may not relapse in 2018 but the leak suggests the studio is almost finished making it.

A huge open world is up for you to explore as you upgrade your armor or weapons and even join clans. Until the port finally arrives on the platform, we cannot tell how much of that are coming along.

Their director of development, Adam Creighton already stated last month that they are working on a major port. Considering their reputation and experience of bringing AAA titles from other platforms to Switch, we can bet that they are going to nail this one as well. Plus, they are familiar with Switch hardware from a very early period.

Debuting on Switch will definitely increase that number higher for sure and open up doorway to many other possibilities for the community. Although the trailer mention of the port is coming very soon, there is no specific release date revealed just yet.

PUBG Corp. Drops Lawsuit Against Epic Games

PUBG Corporation has just dropped their copyright violation lawsuit against Epic Games over Fortnite Battle Royale.

Ever since developers Epic Games have added a "Battle Royale" mode to their sandbox survival game Fortnite, it was obvious that where they took the inspiration from because it was quite on the nose. Then developers of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, PUBG Corporation eventually called them out for straight out copying their idea. Then earlier this year, PUBG owners have filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against their rival company, which is dropped after months of debacle over it.

An injunction against Epic Games was filed by the accuser back in January for supposed copyright violation stating the game in question is creating a similar gaming experience for players like PUBG. Now, dropping the case can be for several reasons and both of these game developing companies are partially owned by Tencent Holdings might be one of them. Also, PUBG uses the same Unreal Engine made by Epic Games and that makes it even complicated than it already is.

RELATED: PUBG Gets ‘Event Pass’ Progression System

Initially, Fortnite was struggling with their "Save the World" mode until they decided to introduce a PvP mode that is very much akin to last-man-standing shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, published by Korea-based publisher Bluehole. Although no official statement on this sudden setback is not yet revealed but they might have reached over some settlement that caused the withdrawal of the copyright lawsuit over online battle royale game of their competitor.

People like to play Battle Royale games and there is no denying of it but the way whole gaming industry has been on its tail, it seems a bit of stretch now when big-name titles like Battlefield V and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 announces of having the same mode to their game. Because of their practice of accuse similar games and taking legal action over them, followers trolled them on Twitter when it welcomed Battlefield series to the club by hinting another lawsuit filing maybe on its way.

PUBG is already suffering from a loss of player count for some time despite recently crossing the milestone of selling 50 million units of the game. They completely screwed up the players who supported the game from a primitive stage by not fixing the glitches but heavily focusing on DLC and loot boxes. Whereas, for their free-to-play nature, Fortnite Battle Royale didn't just gained huge popularity but also made a good buck from selling cosmetic items through micro-transactions.

PUBG Gets ‘Event Pass’ Progression System

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is bringing a new progression and reward system called 'Event Pass' this week.

Developers of PUBG Corp. has been up to a new progression system for their last-man-standing shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and they are about to launch it soon. Starting this Friday, they will release an "Event Pass" that will offer players many unlockable items and it will drop as they introduce the long-awaited Sanhok map on PC. Themed on the upcoming map, the pass is going to last for four weeks and this is the way how they are going to deliver premium content in future.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ third and one of the recently anticipated maps Sanhok features a jungle-like environment and is scheduled to drop on June 22. Designed for close quarter combats by keeping the size to a 4x4 KM size, you can expect much more intensity you ever saw in Erangel or Miramar. This is a nice way to keep things fresh and you probably know that by now if you have been playing it in test servers. Hopefully, more change will come and more loot will be found.

We offer you to take a quick glance at PUBG's Sanhok map in the teaser trailer below before heading to it.

RELATED: PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds War Event Mode

This Event Pass presents you many new missions, which are either daily or weekly and some of them are specifically designed to play on Sanhok for you to complete them to increase your level. Leveling up will lead you to unlocking rewards but they are neither tradable nor marketable as PUBG has gotten rid of item trading because of the presence of many third-party marketplace who started abusing this system. Until they could come up with a solution, a temporary restriction is on.

RELATED: PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Tequila Sunrise Event

Lately, players have been unlocking contents through a crate and key system that the developers thought to be a meaningful way. Even though it sort of screws over their consumers in many ways, they somehow believe that finding rare items in this way can be "extremely satisfying" for some reason. They even mentioned that at one point, the devs even considered releasing content as paid DLC but that will simply divide the whole player base into two different groups that has access to the maps or not.

RELATED: PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Event Mode Announced

It will also keep a lot of players from enjoying updated contents and besides, PUBG Corp. has promised at The Game Awards 2017 that they will provide all maps for free. So, an Event Pass is created, which is much like a rewarding method called Battle Pass from their rival multiplayer online battle royale game Fortnite. According to their own statement, Event Pass is introduced as a progression system that they can keep track of. Said to be available from June 22, a price was not mentioned yet.

However, if you choose not to purchase the Event Pass, you can still enjoy those premium contents for a limited time. So, paying for it lets you permanently acquire all the cool stuff and exclusive rewards. If you buy it on a later time, you will still earn all the rewards through tracking your mission progress. Apparently, many players from their community have been requesting them for a progression system that can be tracked and we only wonder why they don't focus on other problems!

RELATED: PUBG Corp Suing Epic Games For Copyright

PUBG Corporation also need to keep in mind that despite selling 50 million copies of the game, PUBG has lost almost half of its player base due to developer's lack of effort in fixing the game and focusing on cosmetic item releases. The game's Korea-based publisher Bluehole is currently in a lawsuit battle with Epic Games for copyright infringement, which should also be a matter of concern. The game was released into Steam's Early Access in March 2017 and then released for PC and Xbox One on December 2017.

Sony has finally declared a release date for Bend Studio’s upcoming biker zombie adventure Days Gone, coming to PS4 on February 2019.

When we learned back in March that Sony's action-adventure zombie survival game Days Gone has been delayed to 2019, we really were taken aback considering it was one of the most anticipating games on console for this year. For the past few months, developers at Bend Studio has been releasing many new gameplay videos detailing more about the game but we were getting nowhere with a definitive release date for this PlayStation 4-exclusive. That changes now.

The untold dangers posed by Marauders is not any less as they tries to block your path and throw you off your vehicle to plan on doing god knows what horrors to you once they succeed.
