Shenmue 3 Delayed to November 2019

Pushed over from August 2019, Shenmue III has been delayed once again for a November launch date.

Teenage martial art prodigy Ryo Hazuki was about to make his anticipated return in upcoming action-adventure game Shenmue III that was scheduled to release on August 27 this year but his arrival has been delayed now to November 19.

Though it is almost finished, creator Yu Suzuki and publisher Deep Silver have agreed to the point that the game needs some more polishing for truly being finished and revealed in public via its Kickstarter announcement.

Announced back at E3 2015, a third installment of classic series Shenmue entered into crowdfunding with an original goal of $2 million, which became fastest campaign for that amount by reaching their goal within just seven hours.

Aside from large sum of money collected from general mass, investors like Sony has also contributed with unknown amounts and that really raised eyebrows of many regarding budget transparency and how much it really takes to make a AAA-game.

So far, this project has amassed a total of $7,179,510 in three years and became sixth-highest-funded Kickstarter campaign. Originally, the game was set to arrive on December 2017 before it was delayed to early 2018 and then on August 27, 2019.

Sega offered license of this cult favorite series to Suzuki's company Ys Net to develop Shenmue III independently and they jumped on board with development that will eventually see release over PC and PlayStation 4 on November 2019.
