Nioh 2 Open Beta Release Date

Team Ninja has announced Nioh 2 Open Beta for November on PS Store with a full release due for early 2020.

Long after making an official reveal back at E3 2018 event, developer studios Koei Tecmo Games and Team Ninja returned revealing a batch of new screenshots for their upcoming action role-playing title Nioh 2 last month.

Then last week at Tokyo Game Show 2019, a gameplay overview trailer came out with a release window of early 2020. Open Beta program for fans of the samurai adventure game is announced to begin from November 1, 2019.

A playable demo was made available for panel attendees earlier in TGS 2019 and now players from all over the world can experience gameplay of highly-anticipated Nioh sequel for 10 days-long only a month after at PlayStation Store.

Apparently, only players on PlayStation 4 consoles can take part in Open Beta and there is no official confirmation on whether Team Ninja will keep this a PS4-exclusive title or it may see launch on PC and Xbox One platforms.

Despite comparison between Nioh series and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by From Software, developers made sure that it stands out unique among other samurai games, including upcoming Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch.

Nioh 2 doesn't have an official release date revealed yet other than a launch period of early 2020 on PS4 and hopefully that is not January. Original Nioh came out on February 2017 from publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Death Stranding TGS 2019 Gameplay Demo

Tokyo Game Show 2019 presentation opens up with a "Briefing" for Death Stranding and deep within gameplay.

After a surprise appearance at Gamescom 2019, game director Hideo Kojima promised to reveal more gameplay details on upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive action game Death Stranding at Tokyo Game Show 2019.

Before starting TGS presentation, a seven-minute long "Briefing" trailer is released from developer Kojima Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment that will unfold more story depth to already confused fans.

Following "Briefing" trailer sheds light on how Sam Bridges has a key role to play in reconnecting the world.

Protagonist Sam Porter Bridges is accompanied into White House Oval Office by Bridges affiliate, Die-Hardman. He shows Amelie to him as a new leader for United Cities of America in their first step to rebuild the entire nation.

She is the daughter of previous President Bridget and planned on connecting all remaining cities under Chiral Network. Sam however is not too pleased to see them or want to work for them, probably because of some bitter experience from past.

She arranged a mission to look for survivors with best of Bridges 1 and successfully lead them all avoiding BTs (Beached Thing). In three years, they convinced many communities to join UCA but things went south when they came to Edge Knot City.

They came across a militant separatist group called "Homo Demons", who took out their team and held her hostage to protect their liberty. In actual, they are terrorists who kill people and don't shy away from engineering "Voidout".

Sam is called in here to go for a rescue mission on Edge Knot City to bring Amelie back home from their grasp but he cynically declines to work for them ever again, saying they also are a cult like those Demons and he is not a part of them anymore.

Then a 49-minute long gameplay video presented by Kojima himself at Tokyo Game Show 2019 was unveiled to fans. To avoid any major spoilers he edited out a few things but rest is just a deep-dive into playing aspects of Death Stranding.

Before heading onto any expedition, Sam has to prepare himself with cargo loadout and balance his tools. Every attachment carries weight on him which can impact his movement and his stamina bar may run out pretty fast.

Take a good look at the map to see what sort of terrain you are going to explore, if they have hills to climb or if there is water to pass by. Then plan out your course for journey and pack necessary tools like anchors or ladders.

Making rounds through a fractured world Sam will not come across other players but may find something useful that someone else have left behind. Often times, these items will greatly aid you and so, don't forget to leave a like for them.

In between carrying out those packages take a moment of rest by sitting on grass and maybe take a nap as well. To put some pressure off, Sam can lighten his load by placing his cargo on a Floating Carrier that will follow him along.

RELATED: Death Stranding Introduces Troy Baker's Character

At one point, he uses it like a skateboard for climbing down from an extremely rocky area to sneak on MULE enemy camp. There he appeared to have stolen one of their trucks for transport and can ride a motorcycle if he wishes to.

Light travel lets you move at a faster pace and he may have trouble balancing himself if there is too much load over his shoulder. Aside from taking care of himself in Recharging Spring, Sam can try to cheer up his Bridge Baby sometime.

In a boss battle against a beastly BT creature, Sam repeatedly used a weapon called EX Grenade to defeat it. If you manage to spot one of them from far and undetected, then using Anti-BT Handgun on them will be a good idea.

During struggle of your journey, you may often lose a cargo on your way but be sure to get that back when you can. Upon completing deliveries to communities, they will thank him and are most likely to connect with Chiral Network.

RELATED: Death Stranding May Come to PC

Ever since Kojima has split up with his former employer and publisher Konami, he has been working on a game where he received extensive support from Sony Interactive Entertainment to unleash his creative talent on his new project.

Death Stranding is currently heading towards a set release date of November 8, 2019 to arrive on PS4 and though there are theories of it coming to PC platform after a timed exclusivity period, no official confirmation were given so far.

Aspiring to be a worthy successor of its critically-acclaimed 2017 predecessor, Nioh 2 improves on overall design and story. It will pick up from where the original game ended as a follow-up and will offer players a wide variety of customization.

Death Stranding Will Have Very Easy Mode

Hideo Kojima reveals to have added a "Very Easy Mode" in Death Stranding for movie fans to enjoy without too much challenge.

Only months to go before upcoming action game Death Stranding from developer Kojima Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment is released for PlayStation 4 but fans are still excited to find out new things about it.

Recently, game director Hideo Kojima revealed on social media that his game will feature a "Very Easy Mode" that is only for "movie fans", who don't really play games in general but will be able to get in and eventually finish it entirely.

Since they have added real-life renowned actors like Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints, The Walking Dead), it may drive interest of movie fans to this game.

So, Kojima wanted to add a Very Easy Mode especially for that specific audience group so that they can complete the game. To start, he let his personal assistant Ayako Terashima to complete it as a test, who is not much into video games.

RELATED: Death Stranding Cover Art Revealed

Kojima retweeted her status after she has taken Twitter to express her experience and went for more details.

RELATED: Death Stranding No Longer Listed PS4-Exclusive

He explained his reasons for adding a Very Easy Mode for Death Stranding by pointing out that Terashima has never even completed the first level of Pac-Man, just like many casual players who tries out some games every now and then.

Being an avid fan of movies, he realized that people may want to delve deep inside the mysterious world of this game even though they are not very familiar with gameplay or concepts and just wanted to make appeal to them.

RELATED: Death Stranding Introduces Deadman and Mama

Earlier this year, many casual gamers and so-called critics were desperately crying for an Easy Mode for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by developer From Software, debating about accessibility in video games through extreme difficulty levels.

Although that very point was debunked by a quadriplegic player showed how there is no need for difficulty settings. Though it took some efforts on his part but he eventually managed to defeat notorious boss Corrupted Monk like a true champ.

RELATED: Quadriplegic Gamer Proves Sekiro Needs No Easy Mode

Kojima himself was opposed to that idea of difficulty levels as well and even let players become undetectable to enemies in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for wearing a silly chicken hat, which would let them play on easier settings.

He probably had a change of heart for adding a Very Easy Mode and movie-goer people who would be able to immerse into Death Stranding experience just because of that will surely appreciate him considering an easier difficulty.

PlayStation Plus Free Games for September 2019

PlayStation Plus free games lineup is featuring Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III for the month of September 2019.

Up until now, Sony Entertainment has been giving away fairly good free PlayStation 4 games in their monthly lineup for PlayStation Plus subscribers, except for July 2019 but they made a change on last minute due to member request.

Those free titles from August are still up for PS Plus members to download before next batch of game arrives on September 3, 2019. So, take time to enjoy WipEout Omega Collection or Sniper Elite 4 if you have somehow missed them.

In a finale to acclaimed Arkham series, Gotham City looks upon a crime-fighting caped crusader to stand against maniacal villains like Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Riddler, Scarecrow and more to free it from their malicious threat forever.

Then step into the boots of Fury, an enigmatic Horseman of Apocalypse for a hack and slash action-adventure in Darksiders III, third installment of Darksiders series by developer Gunfire Games and publisher THQ Nordic.

Set around a dark fantasy setting, Fury arrives on a scorched Earth in order to find out and destroy Seven Deadly Sins on behalf of Charred Council. Guided by a Watcher, she sets out to hunt down each one of them with ruthless efficiency.

Earlier this year, Sony's decision not to continue adding games for PlayStation 3 consoles have been a bit unpleasant for fans since they had a lineup of four to six games back then and now their option to choose has become limited.

Given that PlayStation Plus free games lineup has slightly improved from a downwards trend, Sony has probably listened to fan complaints and therefore, replaced Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 at last minute with Detroit: Become Human.

Death Stranding Introduces Deadman and Mama

Celebrated game director Hideo Kojima showed up at Gamescom 2019 to show off more footage of upcoming Death Stranding.

On opening night live of Gamescom 2019, many big-name announcements were made but part of what made it extra special was video game icon Hideo Kojima showed up with some new video for upcoming action game Death Stranding.

Though his original plan was to show some clips on Tokyo Game Show later this year but when his very good friend and host of the event, Geoff Keighley requested him for a brief showcase, Kojima felt generous enough to give us a few.

RELATED: Death Stranding Teaser Trailer

Our first takeaway from Gamescom event is a character spotlight for Mama, revealing her part in Bridges.

RELATED: Death Stranding 'Bridges' Poster Tease

Lead character Sam Bridges comes to some sort of a secret facility of Bridges and he notices small BT (Beached Thing) like footsteps. He attempts to hold his breath but then a woman comes forward telling him not to worry about it.

They hear a baby cry and she then carry the barely visible child into her arms out of void, which makes him go whoa! Mama proceeds to explain that it was actually her daughter who is connected to her by an umbilical cord.

RELATED: Death Stranding Key Poster Released

Since this child was born on the other side (presumably Hades) and not with her on material world, she really cannot leave this place and so, she made a base around her because unlike other BTs, this baby is only connected with Mama.

This is likely to be a first encounter between Mama and Sam, who has come to meet her for something, which may not be a delivery. His reason to come here might be similar to why he gave Heartman a visit in an early trailer.

RELATED: Emily O'Brien and Troy Baker Joins Death Stranding Cast

Then here is an introduction of Bridge Baby that is described to Sam by another Bridges affiliate, Deadman.

RELATED: Death Stranding E3 Gameplay Revealed

Sam enters a room inside one of facility Bridges looking for Deadman with his Bridge Baby pod was showing "Crucial" alert and he instructs to remove it to connect it to a nearby incubator before eventually revealing himself on screen.

He explains how they can return the BB to its mother's womb to relieve the baby from stress and it sounds like he only sees them as instruments. They are connecting it to a brain-dead still mother located in ICU of capital North City.

RELATED: Death Stranding Introduces Troy Baker's Character

To establish a connection between the world of the dead and BB, a still mother's womb is required, therefore linking to this baby gives people an ability to sense presence of BTs that are close by, an essential part of survival of course.

As he explains further about how these incubators work to simulate a stress-free environment for Bridge Baby, he goes behind it and it seems like Deadman is a mere projection of some sort, therefore bearing such odd moniker.

RELATED: Death Stranding Release Date

Finally, there is a short gameplay video showing Sam is on a mission doing delivery and meeting a special character.

RELATED: Death Stranding May Come to PC

Titled "Ludens Fan", the trailer starts off with protagonist Sam Bridges taking a nap and woke up to urinate before heading to work. He takes a leak moving left and right but no matter where the camera is moved, his penis will not be shown.

When he is done managing his pee and completely empty for good, a big mushroom grows on that place and more people peeing on the same spot will trigger something good apparently but nothing on that is either hinted or shown.

RELATED: Death Stranding Cover Art Revealed

Then some actual gameplay ensues with Sam scanning his surroundings before going ahead before using a ladder for traversal. He reaches to a post-apocalyptic bunker on top of a hillside and activates a delivery terminal to hand over cargo.

Then the titular "Ludens Fan" character shows up in hologram, which turns out to be a special guest appearance by Geoff Keighley himself. Sam would come across more people like him who lives isolation and is known as "preppers".

RELATED: Keanu Reeves Almost Starred in Death Stranding

Bidding him farewell, Sam proceeds to return only to fall of a small cliff when he was not looking and this made the baby start crying. He quickly gets back to his feet and started to calm it down before it gets too stressed.

Compared to what we saw on earlier clips where Sam is either getting viciously swarmed by group of BT entities or crossing paths with terrorist Higgs who would send his monstrous pet after him, this video is pretty light hearted.

Kojima has showed up at Gamescom event after five years and for that very reason, he flew to Germany to get on stage and interact with fans even though his upcoming anticipated title is currently in a crucial point of development phase.

Death Stranding is scheduled to arrive on November 8, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and is available for pre-order. Although it was initially marketed as a PS4-exclusive title, several recent indications suggest it may even see a PC release at one point.

Sony Acquires Insomniac Games

Sony has revealed acquiring Insomniac Games, acclaimed developer studio behind Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4.

Even with their upcoming ninth-generation console system PlayStation 5 getting closer to launch, Japanese video gaming company Sony has been shying away from spotlight for a while and even skipped E3 2019 press event.

A recent report revealed earlier today that Sony has acquired Insomniac Games, renowned California-based studio that worked on immensely successful 2018 superhero action-adventure game Marvel's Spider-Man for PlayStation 4.

Death Stranding No Longer Listed PS4-Exclusive

Upcoming highly-anticipated social strand game Death Stranding by Hideo Kojima is no longer a PS4-exclusive title.

When video game director Hideo Kojima revealed an official release date for his upcoming anticipated action game Death Stranding back in May 2019, a strong rumor of a PC version release started emerging on social media.

Italian journalist Antonio Fucito came up with some hints that the game may come to PC on a later date back then. Now, it is no longer included among PlayStation 4-exclusive list and even though not a 100% confirmation, this is a clear hint.

RELATED: Death Stranding May Come to PC

Fucito originally spoke on a Twitch stream about the game being a timed exclusive on PS4 consoles for six months or so and his takeaway was Death Stranding official box art is missing "Only on PlayStation" branding.

No assurance of this claim was confirmed so far from developer Kojima Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment. However, Sony's official sites worldwide removing it from their exclusives lists tell a lot already.

RELATED: Keanu Reeves Almost Starred in Death Stranding

Throughout its entire history of existence, Sony has marketed the game as a PS4-exclusive and since they are not labeling it as one, rumors of the game heading over to PC platform after six months or a year seems more like a possibility.

Sony let Kojima use their in-house property, Decima Engine for his project that was used to develop PS4-exclusive game Horizon Zero Dawn and they have consistently promoted the game to build enough hype among fans.

RELATED: Death Stranding Cover Art Revealed

Earlier, Hideo Kojima announced to showcase an "exclusive new look" of Death Stranding on August 19, opening night of Gamescom 2019. Although many believe it to be a new trailer, it could end up being a PC version announcement.

While Kojima is more open about his game, Sony likes to keep things under wraps. That is exactly why just being delisted from their exclusive titles catalog after May 2019 doesn't confirm anything until they officially announce it.

Days Gone Adds Dead Don't Ride Weekly Challenge

Bend Studio presents Dead Don't Ride weekly challenge for Days Gone to drop-off survivors in a golf cart.

With a clear vision of future roadmap, developer SIE Bend Studio and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment planned to introduce 12 challenges on 12 weeks for following launch of their PlayStation 4-exclusive game Days Gone.

First DLC pack of the game hit PlayStation Store back in June to make sure that PS4 community members would have fun in some weekly challenges with protagonist Deacon St. John and now comes a newest arcade-like mode "Dead Don't Ride".

Deacon would have to step out of his trusty drifter bike for once and take wheel of an electric golf cart to pick up waiting passengers from places around Salome Hotsprings and drive them to locations right on time in this latest challenge.

However, you are practically an Uber driver in post-apocalyptic Oregon and have to get the best passenger ratings possible to get a high score. Timely deliveries are a top priority and you should always try to outrun the clock.

Also, while picking them up on your way; try to park as close as you can to a waiting survivor because it earns you bonus points for overall challenge. Keep an eye on their satisfaction meter to see if you get extra time, unless there are unhappy drop-offs.

Although not all deliveries are piece of cake, some might be a tough cookie and you pick-up ring color indicates difficulty level with yellow, orange and red. Distance to destination or complicated navigation will dictate difficulty.

Ride ain't over yet as you would come across Freakers in your way but need not to be alarmed and not because your golf cart has infinite boost. Driving over Swarmer on delivery routes will reward you additional two seconds in challenge clock.

There will be a total of 36 passengers waiting to get their destined places and successfully making all deliveries will earn you 2,000 points for every remaining second on the clock, so picking best paths to drop-off locations is important.

You can form your own part of four characters by inviting your friends online or pick from over 30 NPCs to join your cause. Just so you can wander around in Teyvat, there is a fast travel system to go to places more quickly.

Aside from freeform of movement, there are features for outfit customization and player housing. Genshin Impact offers an immersive experience by focusing on a combo-based combat system that complements its appealing story.

Introducing this upcoming open-world JRPG to PS4 gives it a wide range of audience since Sony has recently hit 100 million sales milestones. Plus, they definitely are planning to include some exclusive in-game content before launching on console.

Many people are already pointing out that Genshin Impact looks like a clone of 2017 Nintendo Switch-exclusive title Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and not just in terms of artwork style but for also having similar gameplay mechanics.

Despite criticism for that, developer miHoYo is aiming to launch on platforms that has lesser hardware restrictions and therefore, is actually trying to go further and beyond with how combat and puzzles are eventually going to play out.
