Now that 2017 action role-playing game Horizon Zero Dawn is finally coming to PC via Epic Games Store and Steam, players who never played it are really excited to experience the former PlayStation 4-exclusive in August 2020.

However, pre-order price for Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition for Windows PC platform has radically increased in several countries due to many people trying to purchase their copies from different regions through VPN abuse.

ResetEra member Hikari_Ryu expressed frustration over VPN abuse to purchase game from other regions.

I know there's a thread about HZD coming to steam, but this is more about regional pricing and how people from rich countries can screw over poor counties by taking advantages of it.

The Last of Us 2 Voice Actress Gets Death Threats Online

Laura Bailey, voice actress for The Last of Us Part II character is getting death threats over her role of Abby.

Ever since major plot point of PlayStation 4-exclusive action-adventure title The Last of Us Part II was leaked online, developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment has been facing serious backlash from fan-community.

Upon launch, players start review-bombing TLoU2 on Metacritic and bashing its plot over at dedicated sub-Reddit. A small group of people took it too far by sending online death threats to Laura Bailey, voice actress for The Last of Us 2.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR UPCOMING THE LAST OF US PART II.

TLoU2 has created a massive rift among its fans that are divided over Naughty Dog's treatment of a fan-favorite character and entire plot. If killing off previous protagonist Joel Miller was not enough, they had to make his last moments miserable.

Many are pissed at newly introduced playable character Abby who is responsible for his death and for being forced to play as her. Their frustration has led online backlash towards Abby's voice Laura Bailey and she recently opens up about it.

RELATED: Sony Reaches Out Reviewer Over The Last of Us 2 Criticisms

Bailey recently posted a couple of screenshots of her inbox on Twitter, publicly revealing multiple death threats and series of unending harassment directed at her over her portrayal of Abby, most hated character in The Last of Us Part 2.

Now getting angry towards a forcefully inserted character is somewhat understandable and common for gaming industry consumers but such egregious behavior towards anyone over a fictional video game property is not acceptable at all.

Laura Bailey has posted a screenshot of threats she is receiving for The Last of Us 2 on social media lately.

To spare uninitiated fans of The Last of Us II spoilers, Bailey redacted some parts of those messages and showed off how bunch of people got worked up by a role she played that they threat her with harm and even death upon her.

People who are harassing Laura Bailey really need to learn to separate fiction and reality to avoid cases like this to spare actors who had nothing to do with a characters' actions in-game other than simple portrayal and leave her alone.

Jocelyn Mettler, who is a former Naughty Dog employee and served as face model for Abby didn't receive any abusive threats. She worked as a support visual effects artist for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and now works at Beyond-FX.

Thankfully, many fans came to show support for her on Twitter, which she acknowledged in a reply Tweet. The Last of Us Part II has seemingly made people forget that Laura Bailey is just an actor who played her part and not Abby in real life.

Sony Reaches Out Reviewer Over The Last of Us 2 Criticisms

Vice reporter was reached out by Sony representative over his critical review of The Last of Us Part II.

As expected, PlayStation 4-exclusive action-adventure game The Last of Us Part II from developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment made a strong opening by selling over 4 million copies in three days.

Generally, majority of news outlets had nothing but praise for The Last of Us Part 2, except a few who were a bit critical of its execution. In a weird follow-up move, Sony has reached out to one of these reviewers over some criticism.

Sony representative contacted Rob Zacny of Vice regarding his statement of Naught Dog has attempted to repeat with what they already have shown in their previous games and TLoU2 character motivation weren't much compelling.

Zacny was told that his conclusions were somewhat unfair and he dismissed few meaningful changes. Though their exchange was pleasant but it was very unusual for a publisher like Sony to reach out about a review they didn't quite liked.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 Slammed on Reddit

Sometime big-name publishers can reach out to individuals for sure but contacting someone for their criticism over a particular game is totally unheard of, especially when that title has become the fastest-selling first-party PS4-exclusive ever.

Naughty Dog and Sony were also very selective about which outlet will get The Last of Us II review copies, most probably because of many outlets reporting on alleged "Crunch Culture" to call out their unfair treatment of all employees.

RELATED: The Last of Us 2 Fans Angry Over Change in Trailer Moment

Though many reviewers have given The Last of Us 2 a perfect review score, many fans were pretty disappointed with how Naughty Dog has chose to end this saga with death of a beloved character and review-bombed it on Metacritic.

Even game director Neil Druckmann has admitted that The Last of Us Part II is bound to create disagreement among fans. People can always disagree and debate but that often turns into ugly fight whenever it comes to a popular fandom.

The Last of Us Part 2 Sales Drops by 80% in U.K. Charts

After a successful opening week on UK charts, The Last of Us Part II sees an 80% sales drop week-on-week.

Within three days of its release, PlayStation 4-exclusive action-adventure game The Last of Us Part II from developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment has sold over 4 million copies worldwide, setting a huge milestone.

However, that impressive sales number has took a great hit and unexpectedly dropped by 80% this week. Although sales drops after first week are pretty common, difference between The Last of Us 2 and other first-party titles are noteworthy.

Recent numbers from United Kingdom market are gathered by Germany's largest market research institute GfK, which solely reflects over physical boxed sales figures in UK only and not including overall digital sales from PlayStation Store.

Despite being at number 1 spot last week, TLoU2 sales have dropped by a large margin and it may lose its place in UK charts by next week. Previously, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End for PS4 had seen a 78% drop during its second week of sales.

Seeing a heavy fall of 80% after a strong opening week is not uncommon for a PS4-exclusive title. Interestingly enough, people who didn't play the first game are buying box copies of The Last of Us: Remastered for PS4, which saw 82% rise.

Last week, Naughty Dog and Sony had a remarkable achievement of attaining number 1 spot on UK sales chart with recently released The Last of Us Part II and its critically-acclaimed 2013 predecessor title The Last of Us taking number 9 place.

Usually, people visit specific video game sub-Reddits to praise or talk positive about a certain title before and after launch. However, things turned completely different in case of The Last of Us Part 2 and people are voicing their anger.

Majority of fan-base are expressing their frustration together at Naughty Dog for mistreating one of their most popular franchises by brutally killing off a beloved protagonist and taking a very controversial approach to overall storyline.

RELATED: Sony Shuts Down Last of Us 2 Criticism With DMCA Takedown

Against thousands of user reviews slamming The Last of Us 2, most critics with games industry have showered praise for TLoU2 on Metacritic, making it a must-play title on PS4 and raising suspicion over a conspiracy to boost AAA sales.

Ever since The Last of Us Part II suffered a major story leak months back, its fan-community on Reddit and other social media mostly tried to stay positive until official release but that too has changed after the game eventually came out lately.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR UPCOMING THE LAST OF US PART II.

Most criticism are directed at how beloved character Joel Miller was clubbed to death by new character Abby from his past that he never knew of and then Ellie's quest for revenge meeting a meaningless end due to her refusal of killing her.

There was accusation of game director Neil Druckmann trying to insert his "forced agenda" with characters and themes of TLoU2. They took issue with Abby being overly muscular than regular females and even assumed her as transgender.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 Survivor Difficulty Will Be a Brutal Experience

Understandably, there is a divide between people who are mad with story direction leading to Joel's death and the ones that actively harasses voice actress Laura Bailey (Final Fantasy XIII, Gears of War 4) on social media for portraying Abby.

Some even theorizes that Anita Sarkeesian has played a major influential role in changing story direction, which Druckmann denies even though there is video evidence of him admitting being inspired from her "Tropes in Video Games" series.

Naughty Dog and Sony has also made a case of huge bait and switch where they have shown Joel in trailer for a specific sequence, giving hope to players to have more presence of him only to replace him with Ellie's friend Jesse in final game.

The Last of Us Part II is likely to sell millions of copies and break records but a faction of players who were hardcore loyalists will be very skeptical from now on and will think twice before spending their money on future Naughty Dog games.

Though official reviews on Metacritic from various high-profile news outlets are overtly positive and currently sitting on an average rating of 95, user score sits at 3.4 out of 10, mostly blaming its poorly written controversial storyline.

A few months back, there has been a huge backlash at Naughty Dog and TLoU2 game director Neil Druckmann from many players for similar reason, when The Last of Us sequel got leaked online by an allegedly disgruntled employee.

In spite of concerns over coverage of crunch culture within Naughty Dog and payment dispute, delays and a major story leak, The Last of Us Part 2 remained one of the most-anticipated games of 2020 to a large number of audiences.

Majority of The Last of Us fan-base are angry at how poorly their favorite characters are treated overall. Many are mad about an awful demise of a main character due to "Political Agenda" and "SJW Propaganda" of director Neil Druckmann.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR THE LAST OF US PART II.

As expected, story premise for The Last of Us 2 has picked up directly from where The Last of Us originally concluded. Ellie and Joel Miller are now living in Jackson, Wyoming, after surviving a deadly outbreak of Cordyceps fungus infection.

Joel is a beloved character from first game, which cares for Ellie and she looks up to him as a father figure and mentor. TLoU sequel sees Ellie as lead protagonist and she will be going up against a newly introduced character named Abby.

Thanks to early leaks, people already knew that Joel dies at the hands on Abby, who is daughter of a Firefly surgeon that he killed. Hours into gameplay, not only he is clubbed to death by a "nobody", her friends spat on his corpse as well.

What follows next is that a vengeful Ellie takes it upon herself to take revenge for Joel and she goes to Seattle to find her group. From there, both parties are at each other's throat through many series of brutal events until the game ends.

He adds that there will be "virtually no loading screens" due to brand-new SSD in PlayStation 5, one of its prominent features. It emphasizes on immersion by dynamically changing environments when you travel from one place to another.

There were rumors of a follow-up to Horizon Zero Dawn from earlier this year from job posting and dev teasing. Shortly ahead of recent announcement, Guerrilla Games launched a comic-book series to tie-in with events from the game.

Contrary to what many have expected, Horizon II: Forbidden West will not be joining launch lineup of PlayStation 5. Its predecessor title HZD became one of the best-selling PlayStation 4 titles of all time by selling over 10 million copies.

Insomniac Games confirms that Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a standalone game for PS5.

A recent interview published by The Telegraph with PlayStation executive earlier has lead entire gaming community being confused about newly revealed spin-off game Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales for upcoming PlayStation 5.

One of the most exciting takeaways from PS5 digital event was Miles Morales and that hype has quickly faded out when it was revealed not to be a full-game but a DLC expansion to Marvel's Spider-Man game, enhanced for next-gen console.

In an attempt to dismiss confusion and rumors among fans after PS5 reveal event, Insomniac had to come out announcing Spider-Man: Miles Morales is in fact a standalone adventure set within Marvel's Spider-Man universe and not a DLC.

On behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment, executive vice president and European business operations head Simon Rutter referred Spider-Man: Miles Morales to be "an expansion and an enhancement" of original Spider-Man game for PS4.

Rutter was implying that Spider-Man would be playable on PS5 console, pointing out Insomniac Games working on major enhancements and game engine, most likely to install some groundbreaking features of PlayStation 5 technology.

Sony successfully acquired Insomniac last year but has yet to announce a PS5 version of Marvel's Spider-Man. However, they used footage from the PS4-exclusive game for an early PlayStation 5 tech demo last month, highlighting key-features.

Following PS5 reveal, Jason Schreier took Twitter to clarify whether Miles Morales is a DLC or full game.

Though smaller in length than many traditional games, Sony will sell the game as standalone title for PlayStation 5, according to an insider. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier compared Miles Morales to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Originally, developer Naughty Dog attempted to work on Lost Legacy as an expansion for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End but ended up releasing it as a standalone yet relatively shorter than a full-priced game in 2017, priced $39.99 only.

A title card from Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales announcement mentions the game as "PlayStation Exclusive", not outright specifying if Sony will be keeping this one to PS5 console only or will release a PS4 version in near future.

Sony never talked about anything similar to Smart Delivery system of Microsoft, which offers free Xbox Series X upgrades for Xbox One games. Leaving these issues unanswered leaves a question of transparency to their consumer base.

Miles would often become playable for certain segments of original game where Peter was main protagonist. Insomniac Games has yet to confirm if players get to play as Parker at some point of upcoming standalone spin-off title.

Sony has created this debacle of misleading marketing by not explicitly wording their message. Whereas it will take nearly 40 hours for Marvel's Spider-Man to complete, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a relatively smaller walkthrough.

PlayStation 4-exclusive title Marvel's Spider-Man was a massive hit, outselling Batman: Arkham Asylum on release. Sony is eager to repeat similar level of success with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales when it arrives on holiday 2020.
