Overwatch on Humble Monthly Bundle

Blizzard's hero-shooter Overwatch has finally been included in October’s Humble Monthly Bundle.

Even if you often play team-based multiplayer first-person shooter title Overwatch from developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment, you might have come across one of those Free Weekends where they offer you a free trial for a few days that comes along with an offer to purchase the game afterwards with a special discount.

Today, digital video game storefront Humble Store announced the game to be part of their October’s Monthly Bundle and an offer you can't refuse.

Generally, Blizzard sells Overwatch for $39.99 but on various occasions, you can bag the game for only $19.99 on sale and not less. Spending only $12 to subscribe to the offer would by far be one of the lowest prices you can pay for this title within a bundle which also includes a bunch of other games worth a total of $100 or more as well.

By continuing your subscription for November and December, you can unlock bonus Loot Boxes offering cool in-game items like Skins and Sprays.

If you already are a subscriber to Humble Monthly Bundle program then you do know that subscribers of this service receive access to download a bundle of 8-10 PC game titles for only $12 each month. On the first Friday of every month, the package is revealed and members are able to get their hands on the games.

You are allowed to keep them in your collection forever, unlike Xbox Game Pass. Sometime they even offer you free redeem codes of handpicked titles to add them to your Steam library.

Rest of the games from October’s monthly bundle still remains secret but last month, super-hit titles like Destiny 2, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Superhot and Undertale made it to their pick. September 2018's bundle has games like Darksiders II, Little Nightmares and Sniper Elite 4 among a collection of 9 games valued $232.92.

The best part of their initiative is that a portion of these purchases go to charity and for the month of October 2018, Make-A-Wish Foundation is the organization they are supporting.

Overwatch’s New Hero Wrecking Ball Live Now

Blizzard Entertainment presents the fur-ball of demolition; Wrecking Ball as newest hero of hero shooter Overwatch.

Through the overall course of run, Blizzard Entertainment's team-based multiplayer first-person shooter Overwatch has added six more playable characters after initially launching with 21 of them and that number is increasing gradually. Another recent addition to their already diverse cast and among some non-human characters is Hammond, the hamster riding on a mech of destruction known as Wrecking Ball. After initial teaser campaigns and trial on PTR, he is finally available to play with.

Those who haven't missed the teaser trailer and animated short featuring Hammond AKA Wrecking Ball knows what a cheerful spirit he is and now here goes another clip as he officially joins the club.

Though this intelligent little fellow is not available in Competitive Play, just so the players can have a little time to adjust and settle with his new gameplay style. However, for Quick Play or Arcade mode, he is all sport and up for all sorts of challenges that are thrown at him. His current status makes all of his Overwatch League skins available for players to pick from before they roll into a match. In a way, Hammond is kinda crazy but a lot of fun to play with but probably not against.

As newest tank hero for this hero shooter title, Wrecking Ball does have some serious moves to cause critical damage. One such nightmarish attack is a sizzle reel that he performs using his Grappling Claw move to decimate people on his way. His quad assault cannons and slamming the robotic tank vehicle into the ground to deliver a Piledriver are proven to be pretty commendable in battlefield. To rub some salt into the wound, he will come out laughing at you in his squeaky voice after taking you down.

Wrecking Ball is the second tank hero added to Overwatch roster post-launch period following Orisa and currently is 28th hero of the game. Straight out of Horizon Lunar Colony, Specimen #8 ruled Junkertown as a champion for a while and is heading this way to wreck havoc with a spheric tank, which he built from a little space pod. Although putting a hamster into this game wouldn't have made much sense at all but with some back-story and some awesome gameplay, it does now.

Overwatch's New Hero Wrecking Ball

If cyborg ninjas and super-spies weren't enough, Overwatch is bringing a chubby cheeked hamster in his murder-bot; Wrecking Ball!

The official Twitter account for Blizzard Entertainment's massively popular team-based multiplayer online first-person shooter Overwatch has been teasing their newest hero for some time. Majority of fan base already guessed in advance who this new hero would turn out to be from all the clues left behind on walls and posters. Afterwards the developer's team revealed 28th addition to the roster and their newest tank hero Wrecking Ball, which will be piloted by a really cute hamster named Hammond!

The chubby little force of destruction marks his debut on Overwatch through a teaser clip today and he is here to bring us joy!

This cute little fellow came from the Horizon Lunar Colony, where scientists were experimenting on gorillas to increase their intellect and then they all ended up turning on to them. Winston was one of them who were a graduate of their Lucheng Interstellar program and he escaped from there during the chaos. Hammond was another specimen who left the facility in time of gorilla coup and now is marked as "missing". He ended up crash landing on Junkertown and Winston joined Overwatch.

There is no telling how intelligent Hammond is and his mechanic skills are simply remarkable. He customized his makeshift escape pod and upgraded it into a mech of destruction to take part in the battle arena of Scrapyard. He quickly earned a reputation for his winning streak and took the alias "Wrecking Ball" but no one ever knew who was inside. Every other obstacle that is thrown towards him, he successfully overcomes them each time and earned a status of a brawler while exploring the world.

Many people had thought of introducing a character like him as a joke until they saw this little guy coming out with his robotic killing machine. He can roll around the map all over and shoot grappling hook for swinging across places makes him the most unique inclusion to Overwatch roster till date. Previously we had assassins for hire, cyborg ninjas and super-spy in the mix but now we got a fuzzy-faced tank-class hero to stand out among them. With him, Blizzard is moving towards a better direction of diversifying the game even more.

Overwatch's Symmetra Will Be Removed From Support

After a patch released back in December 2016, Symmetra is still not one of Overwatch heroes that players pick so often. She is now the only hero capable two ultimates; one of which is Teleporter and the other being Shield Generator. Her small shields are reworked into large photon barrier to make her support stronger. Even the League pros seem to avoid playing with her despite crowd pleading. On the other hand, players have been asking questions about her upcoming changes on the game’s forums.

Symmetra brings nice balance of diversity into the huge mix of character from this team-based shooter as a hero. In her solo comic-book "A Better World", she is seen to make use of her hard light technology for making bridges and sphere-shaped shields used for defense from enemy attack. It's just like how the fictional species of Shi'ar from Marvel Comics uses their tech that eventually helped the X-Men build their Danger Room training simulation.

RELATED: Katsucon 2017 Overwatch Cosplay

In a recent Interview with Overwatch developer Timothy Ford recently revealed that Symmetra will no longer remain in a support role but will become a defense hero after they are done working on her. What they are targeting here is to make her character more flexible through some dramatic change. Though they cannot reveal much detail because of the work-in-progress and what part of hers is actually their focus of development yet but suggested people will find out as they play Overwatch.

"We are discussing the change right now, and although we can’t tell you the details of each change, we would still like to let you know it will be a fairly dramatic change. One thing we can tell you is that Symmetra will turn from a support hero to a defense hero after the remake. Our aim is to make the usage of Symmetra even more flexible from it."
RELATED: Twitch Paid $90 Million for Overwatch League Exclusive Deal

Hopefully, this change will be proven revolutionary for her character because players mostly treat Symmetra as an odd support and avoiding her in their fold using the in-game "Avoid as Teammate" system, which was actually introduced to as a measure against abusive players. Hints also suggest that she will be able to heal her teammates as well and she is already good for shielding support. Taking her for defense also suggests that Blizzard is probably done with non-healing support.

Recently, Brigitte joining as a support hero has given this unique class some boost in spite of still having Ana and Moira in the roster. Bottom line is, we are getting a new Defense hero, who is getting changed from another class and most likely to have a brand-new version of her to make things interesting. Developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, team-based multiplayer first-person shooter Overwatch is available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Overwatch Support Hero Brigitte Announced

Blizzard Entertainment has just announced the 27th hero character for their massively popular team-based multiplayer online first-person shooter Overwatch. Blizzard has been teasing the reveal of the character for some time on their Twitter handle with images and mysterious hints though. Named Brigitte Lindholm, the new support character will be live on public test region from February 28th within 1 PM ET and 2 PM ET for players on PC.

So far, Overwatch has introduced five extra playable hero characters after the release of the game back in 2016. We had two offensive heroes Doomfist and Sombra, Ana as a support hero and tank hero Orisa. The latest addition to the roster was support hero Moira, added to the gang in November 2017 and now we got Brigitte as another support player, which makes the number three among the additional heroes list.

RELATED: Overwatch League is Exclusively on Twitch

Below is the newest animated short clip featuring the origin story of hero Brigitte Lindholm from Overwatch.

Brigitte will be the first Overwatch character added to the game in 2018 and she also appeared in the “Honor and Glory” animated short. Growing up as the daughter of defense hero Torbjörn Lindholm, Brigitte used to work with her father in his workshop and she was always inspired by her mentor, tank hero Reinhardt. So, she eventually decided to join the fight with a custom-built armor of her own when she realized that she can do more than just building weapons and fixing armors.

RELATED: Overwatch Support Hero Moira Announced

Here goes another video of Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan giving up details on the story, abilities and other aspects of the newest character Brigitte.

Brigitte's melee weapon Rocket Flail has the power to knock of a couple of enemies in an extended range at the same time with one single swing. She has an ability called the Repair Pack, which can be used to heal up a teammate and if that player is already at a full-health, the healing will act as armor to them. Other than the former, she wields abilities like Barrier Shield, Inspire, Shield Bash and Whip Shot to either take damage or knock opponents down.

RELATED: Overwatch Update Changes Mercy

The Ultimate Ability that Brigitte possesses is called Rally, which gives her boosted agility to move faster while shielding her teammates with armor within a certain range. Development tweaks in her character made her better than Torbjörn or Reinhardt and she is more than suited to stop Genji or Tracer during a match. Because she wanted to do more than patching, her gameplay style totally matches the attitude.

RELATED: Overwatch Doomfist Comic – Masquerade

The reveal of Overwatch's previous support Moira at BlizzCon 2017 surprised the fans but for some reason, people were not as much excited as the developers hoped for. Brigitte's announcement however is a complete different case and as she is live on game’s test servers, Blizzard will issue her full release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One very soon.

Overwatch Support Hero Moira Announced

During BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment had a surprise for all the Overwatch fans and it's about a new character. A new support hero . . . err, heroine is being added to the roster, who is actually more of an antagonist as she works for Talon organization and the 26th playable character of the game. Her name is Moira and she is great for both recovery and attack.

blizzard overwatch support moira
Overwatch Support Hero Moira Announced

With a long-range beam called Coalescence, she can drain the life-force of her opponents and then using that energy, she can heal her teammates with biotic spray. This happens to be Moira's main attack. Moira's "Fade" power allows her to teleport from situations if she is cornered but it also is a great mobility option for the hero even if it has a short range. Players may find this a bit identical to Reaper's Wraith Form and who knows; maybe they're even connected somehow. Just saying!

RELATED: Overwatch Update Changes Mercy

There is a short clip below that focuses on her motives and few takes from her gameplay which you better take a look at while we talk more about her.

After a while, it might seem that she might be a bold retake on the sniper Ana but whether or not it is true, she will heal you up if she is on your team or give you some serious damage if you are on the other side of her allegiance by sending out her bouncing "Biotic Orbs". You can even compare her to a more hostile version of Symmetra but still, she has superior mobility and long-range for attacks.

Then there comes her Ultimate attack, which is a massive beam of energy blast to wipe out the enemies on your way. So far, the character is full of great features and it will take people some time to figure out how to best use it as well as pointing out whatever flaw she has.

Blizzard's team-based multiplayer online first-person shooter Overwatch is available to play on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If you're even a little bit of interested about this new support character, you should just go ahead and give it a try already. If you are a support main, you're probably gonna end up loving play as Moira and if you are not, still, chances are you will appreciate having her on your team.

Overwatch Update Changes Mercy

Blizzard Entertainment has been working on updates and releasing them time to time for their award-winning multiplayer online first-person shooter video game Overwatch. As we all know that they are always busy with updating the hero roster as well as bug-fixing, Blizzard has recently released a new update for the game which already went live. By the looks of it, they were primarily focusing on support character Mercy.

They have also updated the social tools so that the players can show when they are online, away, busy or appear offline as their status on PC. The last one won't hide you from your friends if you are all in a same match though.

overwatch mercy update
Overwatch Update Changes Mercy

A recent bug fix has cost Lúcio’s wall ride ability, slowing him down a bit. Now, developers are saying that his wall ride speed has been boosted up to 65% but then again, it just compensates for the reduced speed Lúcio got previously for the update. The adventurer monk Zenyatta received a few new lines of his own. Issue of visual effects regarding Sombra’s Pumpkinette victory pose that wasn't displaying correctly is also fixed.

Okay, let's talk about Mercy now. If you are a Mercy player then you will no longer have trouble to glide past your targeted allies and all you have to do is to use the jump key with Guardian Angel. If you activate Resurrect, your cooldown will no longer reset. Same thing goes for Valkyrie and the resurrection cooldown won't be reduced either. That means players will get a bonus Resurrection charge from now on. All of these and it makes place for a bit of flexibility.

Before, if you had two teammates to resurrect, you had to activate Valkyrie and revive the first target prior so that the Resurrect’s cooldown will reset and you will proceed with the other target. After the update gone live, now you can activate Valkyrie and resurrect both targets immediately. There was also a bug that taxed Mercy’s momentum and prevented her from properly slowing down upon cancelling Guardian Angel.

We've discussed almost every necessary aspect of the update above already, which is available now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, if you are feeling like checking out the details for yourself then here it goes: OVERWATCH PATCH NOTES, OCTOBER 17, 2017.

Fans of cosplaying are no stranger to the name of superstar cosplayer/gamer Stella Chuu. She is the one responsible for their enthusiastic cosplaying group named Underwatch, who has presented us with some smoking hot Overwatch themed cosplays. What started as a fun doodling experiment of Overwatch in fancy underpants eventually became a major project. So based on her designs, her friends from cosplay community got to work to make them come alive and we saw what they have been working on at Katsucon 2017.

Stella Chuu herself has posed as mech pilot D.Va (Hana Song) from Tank category of Overwatch heroes. Vickybunnyangel of Underwatch posed as specs-wearing climatologist Mei, looking adorably cute. Meevers Desu and Senesas cosplayed the characters Pharah and Zarya respectively. Even though the latter's original character is actually weightlifting athlete and she looks nothing like that in nature, making the transition ever so intriguing. Then Bindi Smalls have played one of the most fan-favorite of them all; Tracer. In our eyes, Meevers Desu's Pharah and Bindi Smalls' Tracer takes the cake of the show.

Is Efi Oladele Overwatch's Next Hero?

The backstory of an 11-year-old girl named Efi Oladele, who also happens to be a genius inventor, was posted as a fictional interview on the Official Blog of Overwatch. While the majority of the fans speculate this as a tease to a new hero by Blizzard Entertainment, there was no apparent confirmation of any sort. At least, not yet.

The interview reveals that she is a brilliant kid-genius from Numbani, who works with robotics and artificial intelligence. Her impressive achievements in the ground so far is the news from last year. She has received a very prestigious as well as a handsome "genius grant" from the Adawe Foundation for the recognition of her contribution. And her magnificent progress in her working field has took her to the "Spotlight on Numbani".

overwatch efi oladele
An Interview with Inventor Efi Oladele

Despite all the royalties and fame, she wishes to do more by creating a means to make everyone's life better. Also, she hinted of building something like the OR15s and yet not declared that what she is going to do with her grant.

There might be a lot of possibilities for her but if we are to see this 11-year-old in action, it would be saddening to see her getting killed during the game by her opponents. May be she will be bringing her robots in the battlefield of Overwatch, or assist the fellow heroes from behind the scene. She might even send off battle-drones to disrupt the enemy teams as she has been building those from her early age.

If she is destined to play the part of a protagonist in the game then she might as well ended up creating a robot of her own, which she can remotely control in a fight and the players will not have to have a hard time seeing decimated in-game. If we recall correctly, the studio has recently nodded that there are a few protagonist characters in development. Therefore, there is a great chance that Efi Oladele might turn out to be one of them.

Overwatch: 10 Beta Tips

Blizzard Entertainment brings a new arena shooter video game Overwatch this year and since the announcement, players are getting a bit extra hyper about it. Because, admit it, the game looks awesomely cool and the more you think about it, you cannot keep your hands off it. Blizzard senses that desperate eagerness in you too. So, what did they do? They released the open beta and people are losing their minds over it.

We do suggest that you join the revolution too but before you do, you might want to consider reading the following 10 tips and then some more to have a crush-course on Overwatch open beta. Then start playing right away.

Overwatch: 10 Beta Tips

1. Secure Your Objective:
You might label the game as a first-person shooter; since you have to kill your opponents once you come across them to defend your own skin but you do it in a fashion of a multiplayer online battle arena. However, you should never lose sight of what the game really is about. While the FPS is a large aspect of the game, it is never the main goal you should pursue in the game. If you forget about securing your objective and don't help up your allies to achieve it, you'd probably lose.

On each round, you are given an objective, which you and your team have to complete within a certain time-frame. It can be securing a payload around the map or to capture an area but never to go on a killing spree of your opponents. Sure, picking up a powerful hero and pour on your enemies can be hell lot of fun but it will derive you from the very thing you are here to do, in order to secure victory. So, never lose sight of your objective.

Work as a Team

2. Work as a Team:
The one thing that you should never forget is that this FPS MOBA set-up is no place for a one-man show. Sure it counts at the end that how much did you contributed to the team to reach the collective goal. So, do not try to outshine your teammates or be selfish. Instead, try to find a fellow player in peril and offer your helping hand.

Because at the end of the match you will not be able to get that sweet taste of victory if you are not cooperative enough and always looking for your personal glory. No matter how many kills you make in a match or how much skill did you pick, it means nothing if you guys fail to secure the very objective you're chasing for in the first place. Plus, the players might choose you as an MVP among them based on your overall act throughout the game.

Team Composition Is Important

3. Team Composition:
Before you even hit the arena, you have to select your hero and therefore a well-composed team that will actually help you win matches. As you your build very own Overwatch gang, the system will indicate whether or not you need more support on your fold or a tank for more defenses but in the end, whatever suits you and your teammates playing style matters the most.

It is not mandatory to fill out each and every type of roles just for the sake of making it out alive. Still, those characters were designed for a reason and if you want to left out a few types, it's still fine. You can still make it out and even win the game. All you got to do is to look out for your health if you have no support on your team. If you guys are without a tank, find cover as soon as it starts heavy firing from the other side.

Play Different Characters

4. Change Your Hero:
Each hero of the Overwatch character roster is designed with their own unique abilities and feature, which distinctly separates them from each other. While playing a match, Support may be your choice; offense role may fit you the most, becoming the shield to your team by playing as a damage-absorbing Tank may intrigue you the most or defense might be your strong suit. Whatever it is, there will be time when you will discover, which is your weak point and how you can overcome your limits. Knowing each and every move that your hero posses won't necessarily lead you and your team to victory but knowing when to implement them will.

Besides, the game system does not bind you to one particular character or hero type. So, every once in a while give other characters from the entire roster a try. Who knows, aside from breaking the monotony of sticking to one hero and becoming one dimensional, it might reveal some new abilities in those other heroes that you might find interesting and helpful. You never know. Other than that, it will bring diversity in your gameplay style, team dynamics and make you more versatile. It's always nice to try out a few new swings.

The Ultimate Moment

5. The Ultimate Moment:
Every character in this game has an Ultimate move but most of the tie, people either forget to use it or blow it up too soon. Yes, it doesn't come along right after the battle is on but then again, if you wait too long to unleash it upon your enemies, you might even regret it later when it's too late to imply it. Don't worry though. Keep playing. You will eventually figure it out at some point for sure.

Since they don't grow on trees and you cannot charge them whenever you want, it will be wise to be a bit conservative with your Ultimate move. However, don't worry about dying too soon before you deliver your sweeping Dragonstrike at your enemies. Wait for your respawn and then deal it in proper time. The best idea would be, when your Ultimate is ready to deploy, let your teammates know about it. So, they might have the chance to plan a fine coordination with it that will devastate the enemies.

Know Thy Enemies

6. Know Thy Enemies:
It never hurts to know your enemies and much less have some decent idea about some of their commonly used tactics. This way, you will be able to develop your own counter-attack or at least be prepared for some of it. Even if you are done for the time being and waiting to respawn, be sure to follow your allies in spectator mode as they continue the game. The amount of input you will receive will come in handy at some point.

Also, try to have the basic idea of each character from the game roster, so that you will know whom you are up against and what sort of threat you can expect from them when the shooting starts. Better yet, try to switch your game with some of the heroes that your enemies play with. Now this might seem boring and not much necessary but trust me, it is all for your own advantage.

Be Tactical

7. Be Tactical:
The one thing you will agree with me here is that being tactical in Overwatch pays. PERIOD. It's not compulsory to fight your opponents face to face or being in control of a strong hero character to win every combat you ever engage in. If you are playing a map with dangerous edges or holes, you can just knock people of your enemy team down there. It is effective as well as great fun. Some of the cool moves of your player or even the ultimate can do the trick, where you will not be directly killing them but pushing them towards their demise.

8. Explore the Maps:
Aside from a great player roster, Overwatch do take pride in a lot of maps they offer in game. While shooting and chasing, it may seem like the rounds over the maps are really short but as you keep playing, you will find out that you were not entirely correct. There are many pinch points, elevated sections and cut-throughs, that you will eventually feel that there are more than meets the eye in these maps than you thought at the beginning.

Find an Alternative

9. Find an Alternative:
While playing other games, you either depend on one way or another to reach your goal, which is the normal case. Fortunately, Overwatch offers you a couple of different ways to reach your destination or meet your objective. The huge array of characters roster of this game offers you to the unique abilities of flight, teleportation or even wall climbing. Try one of them. If it is not working and you keep ended up dying all the time for the same reason or on the same place, try switching to an alternate route or method.

10. Be Helpful:
Whatever you do, don't be that guy who always complains about the others or put other players down. Instead, try to show some true sportsmanship and help your teammates in need, even if they are not highly appreciative of it sometime. You see a fellow player in dire need of some aid, be the big guy and help that fella out. Trust me, its way better than calling them "Noob".

We already tried to point out the major things that we thought one should keep in mind when they are playing Overwatch at this beginner stage. There are many actually, that did not make it to this Top 10 list but still pretty much mention worthy. Some of these might come real handy in time of need like, when you came across a support hero of the enemy; you better take them down as soon as possible; especially if that character is Mercy. Otherwise, you will realize firsthand how painful it is to see your kills are constantly being resurrected.

overwatch communication wheel
Talk To Your Team

If you are defending, you should focus on the choke points outside of the enemy base. Communication is the key, so talk to your teammates sometimes and let them know what you are up to. It will also let them coordinate their moves with you and devise a better strategy. You can always use the practice range to try out new characters in there.

On May 24, 2016, Overwatch launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One worldwide and if you are not hooked into the Beta yet, we recommend you do so. ASAP. As it will run till May 5-9. C'mon people. This is an opportunity at unlimited fun that you cannot afford to miss. Once you will adapt yourself into the game playing style of Overwatch, the characters, story and the maps will make you feel at home and that is not exaggerating. That's a promise.
