PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Savage Map In Works

Although PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has achieved feats like selling over 30 Million copies and crossed records of having 3 million concurrent players on Steam, they have had reached a point earlier where they weren't growing. All they did for last few months is to add loot boxes rather than some actual contents. In the meantime, free-to-play title Fortnite of Epic Games stole their thunder by breaking streaming record on Twitch and having rapper Drake join them in a match.

We are actually pretty thankful that Fortnite Battle Royale has managed to take the limelight from PUBG for a while and now they are alerted about the situation. Otherwise, we would have pinned to wall with that gambling-oriented, barely finished version of third person shooter for years and PUBG Corp. wouldn't give a damn about it. Now the developers have suddenly become so productive with new ideas and launched a couple of weekly events like Tequila Sunrise and War Mode.

These ideas worked so good with their audience that many of them are demanding to make some of these temporary test modes to permanent. All that and the game finally work their way up to get players to have a map selection. Xbox One users are still stuck with the Erangel map whereas PC version got to try out Miramar map for some time now. However, they are working on that too and almost finished but have not set any exact date for it yet.

Soon, map selection is going to get a lot more crucial than ever because PUBG developers have been working for their third map, Codename: Savage and as they are nearing to completion, it is available now for test on Steam. Considering this one one-quarter the size than the other two, it really is far from finished but we do understand that they hastily released it for early feedback to improve it and to convince you that they had other things to show except for “Equinox Crate” loot boxes.

PUBG Corp. states that what they envision for Savage map will need months to get complete and one of their ideas is to add a huge cave where players will jump right in their parachute. The concept of base jumping, where you fling with a parachute strapped on your back off a cliff is adapted here but players will be jumping into the biggest underground cave they can think of in this case, which sounds a lot like Cave of Swallows from Mexico.

In their recent trip to Thailand, a developer team went seeking inspiration to merge with their ideas for their new map. There were Concept Artists, 3D Environment Artists and Technical Artists within the team to study real location. One of their objectives was to shot photos of real-world areas or objects from every possible angle and convert them to in-game 3D objects through Photogrammetry. They will also take player's feedback to evolve the map further and making their experience unique.

Also, deep inside the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, the team finds Thailand's own version of Cave of Swallows, which goes by the name Phraya Nakhon Cave. Since their planned Savage map was Southeast Asian-themed, this one fits perfectly for what they were looking for. They came up with a cool imagery to depict their vision and as it will be converted into an in-game asset, you are about to experience an amazing entrance. The cave will be made in a way that lets players to dive straight through the big enough opening of the cave and join the fight.

From their recent endeavors, it would seem like PUBG Corp. is up to making some short-term goals like selling loot boxes for money rather than focusing on updates that will possibly fix the game for better. The way the developers rushed with the release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for mobile and Xbox One has clearly shows that they are just trying to spread their name everywhere as fast as possible so that no one can take them over but Fortnite already did that.

Besides, there are multiple upcoming titles that are bringing Battle Royale mode in their games in some way or another. Triple-A video games like Battlefield V and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is already on that list, who will introduce their unique take on the genre. When they will hit the market with more polished gameplay and improved features, PUBG will surely be in tough competition. If the tendency of focusing on loot box and not working on content remains their prime goal, their downfall will be imminent.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds War Event Mode

Last week, PUBG Corporation had successfully held "Tequila Sunrise" event mode and announced a War mode for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds which will be accessible in custom games as the developers finish testing. This is perhaps the most intense version of Battle Royale that they have envisioned till date. Stretching to see how far they could take the game concept to keep things interesting to players, PUBG Corp. came up with deathmatch-style battles in War event mode.

By far, War is the most diverse mode in all of PUBG history you have ever partaken in aside from their main server. That's right! War will not show up in the game's regular selection but if you can create custom servers, you can see it. If a War server is available then just about anyone can join for some action. Remember when Battlegrounds used to be a mod in first person tactical military shooter ARMA from Bohemia Interactive? This is a lot like that as a callback to old days.

Be sure to check out the trailer on PUBG's War mode to keep up with us as we talk about it in more details and how it affects the gameplay in overall.

The thing everyone would appreciate about War is that, dying during a fight doesn't put you out of the field right away. You can "Re-Spawn" at your place by jumping from the plane after you are killed and pick up the fight from where you were left off. This means, you can now participate for longer than before in each of these 15-minute rounds. You and your 10-man squad are allowed in a small piece of Erangel map to take out two other teams and the map doesn't shrink on you. Isn't that great?

RELATED: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Xbox One S Bundle Announced

Whenever you re-spawn, you will be equipped with one random pistol, an assault rifle (AR) or designated marksman rifle (DMR), a level one helmet, a level one vest and a grenade. You can also scour in those buildings of the map for additional loot and care packages that drops after every 90 seconds but keep it in mind that by then, the shootout will already begin and bullets will be even flying into your direction. Even though you are taken out, rest of your team can carry on till you re-join them in a few seconds.

Since teams are consists with 10 players, you are allowed to bring 9 from your friends list or auto matching system will do it for you. You can also end up with less squad members depending on your matchmaking situation. Each team will be competing for 200 points to win and the first squad to score that takes the cake. Every kill will earn you 3 points and a single point for a knock out or reviving any of your teammates. If no team manages to score 200 points within 15-minute time limit, then the one with highest score will win the match.

War mode is available from April 12, at 7 PM PDT and will run till April 15, 7 PM PDT for a full weekend. Other things to note are there is no region lock, weather is fixed at “sunny”, Redzone and Killer Spectator Mode will be disabled as well. As the safe zone is limited, you have fewer places to hide your skin. So, we suggest you don't worry about getting shot and go out there to take out enemy teams. Also, North America, Europe, Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania are exclusive to a first-person variant of War mode.

PUBG Corporation presents last-man-standing shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is released on Early Access for PC and Xbox One in 2017. There are two versions of PUBG also available for playing it on Android and iOS devices. Although War event mode is here among us for a limited time for PUBG Corp. for testing purpose, we seriously hope that is becomes permanent, because it can probably help developers bring back loyal fans of the game into the festival of Battle Royale.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Tequila Sunrise Event

We had an early announcement from developer PUBG Corporation on Steam community that they will launch limited-time event mode within an update for PC and Xbox One very soon. This timed event and a new Custom gameplay mode will shake things up for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for good. Already made a name with the unique concept of Battle Royale to put on a map ad fight to a standstill for victory and a Chicken Dinner, it already became one of the top selling video games of all time.

Even after pulling that feat, PUBG had no time for rest as its insane popularity soon lured out a couple of competitors in the market, most of which are just different versions of rip-off of the original. Fortnite Battle Royale of Epic Games however, managed to become their main rival after so long when they recently broke record for most number of concurrent viewers on Twitch and currently ruling the charts.

RELATED: Fortnite Takes Over Twitch

Many believe that Fortnite's biggest plus point is the free-to-play nature of the game and PUBG Corp. should do something similar. Epic Games also had a timed event called Blitz Mode for Fortnite Battle Royale a short while ago. The developers have been at work for some time and they even put out a new map for beta testing already. Clearly, that wasn't enough and now here is "Tequila Sunrise" event mode for fans with a new challenge.

According to PUBG Official Blog, Tequila Sunrise event starts on April 5, at 7 PM PDT and will run till April 8, 7 PM PDT for a total of 72 hours. Four player squads will be competing for Battle Royale supremacy on Miramar map with only shotguns and melee weapons for combat. There will be no other weapons to use or maps to explore and don't expect for any Care Package to drop during matches. Matching is by default "On" but you can simply turn Auto Matching off if you are not a fan of the feature.

A brand-new game mode called War is currently accessible in custom games and the Savage map is currently in-testing. War is a much more intense version of Battle Royale taking place on Erangel map and pitting all contestants in a circle for shootout. Now, it completely depends on the developer whether or not they will play with the possibilities to make this thing big or drop at some point though. PUBG needs to keep grinding as they just won't have to topple only Fortnite but many others in line.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a last-man-standing shooter from PUBG Corporation, released for Early Access on PC and Xbox One. Two versions for Android and iOS of PUBG are also available. They already have a planned road-map for 2018 and staying true to their word means, series fans are going to get more updates, new contents and event modes more often for whole year.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Event Mode Announced

Ever since developer PUBG Corporation has brought their last-man-standing shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to Steam, the game has been single handedly moping the floor clean with other battle royale titles out there until the sudden rise of Fortnite lately when rapper Drake decided to drop in. According to a recent Steam community post, PUBG is going to join the special event madness of battle royale games very shortly.

An update for PC and Xbox One is coming soon as limited-time event modes, which is also designed to improved performance. In general, players can experience Solo, Duo and Squad modes in their regular play and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds’ Event Mode will be an ever-changing Custom Game. Developers will be trying and testing new things within this short period of events every once in a while to see how it goes with players to understand their reception towards the game.

RELATED: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Hits 30 Million Sales

This is a huge step-up from the regular public matches you mostly play but since all of this is supposed to lead to more exciting things the developers have in store for players. However, the last part really depends on the perspective of things. The initial limited time mode won't be anything fancy but rather more basic except for the fact that it will have teams of eight players competing against each other. To make things a bit more interesting, the rifle drop ratio during these matches will be twice as much than usual.

Sounds like the devs are already planning to rip the old rules apart and introducing new twists out of their sleeves. The only downside we can see right now is that Event Mode is dependent on matchmaking and instead of letting you group-up with your friends, you've got to hang out with random strangers. Have we mentioned yet that they will add a flare gun for the next limited-time mode? Well, we just did now.

Currently, Fortnite Battle Royale is having their very own special timed event Blitz Mode and Epic Games have added this from last December. It happened just the time when PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds came out of Early Access on PC and is finally released for Xbox One. Though PUBG Corp. haven't dropped any official date for their event to launch but hopefully, it will be live on game’s test server soon right after they finish testing.

PUBG Becomes Best-Selling Video Games Ever

Video game industry witnessed a new record-breaker that made its debut in 2017 and it is a multiplayer online battle royale game. We are talking about PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds from PUBG Corporation and many of you may have already guessed that even if you have missed the title somehow, because it's so obvious. The game ruthlessly dominated the market last year and made it to the top 10 best-selling video games of all time.

We are now in 2018 and the game isn't showing any signs of stopping or slowing down on increasing sales. Even though PUBG faced some competition from Epic Games' free-to-play battle royale game Fortnite, the major issue they are facing is the ever-growing number of cheaters in-game. In a last-man-standing shooter of a maximum 100 players, the constant cheats are ruining the experience for everyone.

RELATED: PUBG Anti-Cheat Update For PC Delayed

So far, the developers are regularly banning hundreds and thousands of cheaters worldwide, taken legal action against the cheaters in China and added a replay option to detect and report a potential cheater with suspicious activity. The majority of players who suffers from this are mostly on PC and many of them are with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds till the beginning when it haven't even fixed issues and wasn't released officially.

Most recent chart indicates that 30 million copies of PUBG have been sold for PC and another 4 million sales came from Xbox One version release. With that, the total estimate sales is over 34.193 million and that earns PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds seventh position on the best-selling video games of all time list, beating games like New Super Mario Bros. and Wii Sports Resort. Considering the game started out on Steam's Early Access, this monumental achievement is quite impressive.

Previously known as Korean publisher Bluehole, PUBG Corporation presents PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a third-person shooter for PC and Xbox One. Despite the setbacks with cheats, the game also holds record for the highest number of concurrent players on Steam, leaving Dota 2 at second place. The Xbox One version issues though but that doesn't mean they can't be fixed. With every other game trying to introduce their very own battle royale mode, PUBG better start working on some new maps for the fans.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Hits 30 Million Sales

Last year's massive hit multiplayer online battle royale PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has become one of the most successful game of recent times. The game rules on Steam and its popularity is increasing all over the world like wildfire. According to a recent stat from SteamSpy, PUBG has apparently sold 30 million copies for PC, which is of course great news for developer PUBG Corporation.

However, Steam’s own API shows that the number of concurrent players on the game has been drastically falling down. That raises the question that where all these players are going if they are not playing the game upon purchase and where does it takes the game in future.

RELATED: PUBG Anti-Cheat Update For PC Delayed

What we need to get checked first is that the number of 30 million sales is for the PC version of PUBG only and that does not include the sales of Xbox One edition, which is exceptionally great for a new game that was released on Steam's Early Access. Before it even tuned into one whole year, version 1.0 of the game is dropped back on December, 2017. Considering above mentioned points, it is safe to say that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds isn't doing bad and we don't need to worry about the game's ongoing progress either.

Aside from that, PUBG has managed to consistently claim the top spot on Steam as the most-played game on the platform. After the game took over the crown over Dota 2, it has never been brought down from the same position. Over 1.6 million people from United States are currently playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and more than 1.1 billion hours have been played on PC so far.

RELATED: Tencent Helped Chinese Police Arrest PUBG Cheaters

The game had the highest number of participants simultaneously during the mid of January and the peak of that number was of more than 3 million players. Even if we take yesterday as an example, then there were more than 3 million concurrent gamers. So, the concern that is on everyone's mind is that, where are the rest of the people who bought PUBG?

RELATED: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds PC 1.0 Update #2

There are a few possible reasons that pop into our curious minds on this regard. Most of the players who were initially very excited about the game may have lost interest. Many newcomers are maybe joining the party for version 1.0 of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds but they too are likely to go away soon. Then there is another battle royale game from Epic Games called Fortnite, which is free-to-play and since it's not on Steam, people are drifting away.

SteamDB Concurrent Players Stat

RELATED: PUBG Having Issues on Xbox One

Another monumental reason for the drop on the number of players is the strict ban rule against those who cheat by PUBG Corp. If you think that idea is too far-fetched then you should also know that anti-cheat provider for the game, BattleEye has banned over 2.5 million players on this January alone. The shocking news is that the number of bans is only increasing every other day and if this continues, the end of February will see approximately 4 million bans.

RELATED: PUBG Crosses 3 Million Concurrent Players

Because of cheats, many players were robbed of their true gaming experience and abandoned the game. So, with help from Chinese government, PUBG Corp. even arrested a great number of cheat software providers in China. Despite all these issues, the game is still on the highest peak of Steam and not showing any signs of going down anytime soon. So, by cutting off all the cheats to create a fair online multiplayer environment, the developers are actually doing the right thing for the future of the project and the communities it has created worldwide.

RELATED: PUBG May Come to PlayStation 4

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a last-man-standing shooter from PUBG Corporation, available to play on PC and Xbox One for now. In the foreseeable future, the developers can even release the game on PlayStation 4 as the idea is still on their consideration and we would very much love to see that happen.

The battle royale game that has changed the entire scenario of the multiplayer online shooters, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been a console launch exclusive in Xbox Game Preview for Xbox One for some time now. One of their most recent achievements is to cross 4 million players on console by the end of January. As a console partner for the game, Microsoft has taken the liberty of announcing a new Xbox One S bundle associated with the title.

Now, you know that you are getting a brand-new Xbox One S console and a copy of PUBG along with the package of course. Other aspects that are included in this bundle are what we are discussing down below.

  • The Xbox One S bundle will come with a 1TB hard drive and an Xbox Wireless Controller. There is a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player built-in, which will not only support you with 4K video streaming but the Dolby Atmos premium audio quality. Plus, you are getting access on a library of more than 1,300 games including recent sensations like Cuphead and Forza Motorsport 7.

  • You can get your hands on the full-version of last-man-standing shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. You either enter the battle royale on your own or take your partner as a team of dynamic-duos or a gang of trusty game-buddies to fam squad on the opponents. Y'know, whatever lets you earn that victory feast of chicken dinner.

  • There is a 1-month trial period of Xbox Live Gold membership along with the bundle that promises you the experience of heart-pounding multiplayer gaming on Microsoft's advanced network that you always wanted.

  • Lastly, a 1-month Xbox Game Pass trial is also comes up for you to pick up 100 Xbox One games form the grand selection. You can also enjoy upcoming exclusive game titles like Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 on the same day of their worldwide release.

Since Xbox One has a crisis for good-time games to have as exclusive to their console, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a nice addition to their collection and it was quite a good decision to bundle the game with Xbox consoles. Because, PUBG is undisputedly ruling the gaming industry right now and will probably give a fighting chance to Microsoft's consoles against Sony's PlayStation 4 and other competitors.

All things considered, the Xbox One S Bundle deal that comes for $299.99 is pretty decent as we see no similar offer for Xbox One just yet. Despite the increasing amount of cheats, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds remains a massive hit on both Steam and Xbox One. Developer PUBG Corp. has been working on an anti-cheat solution for PC version and we believe that they soon will have an Xbox edition of the update.

PUBG Anti-Cheat Update For PC Delayed

Without any doubt, survival shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is currently the hottest game on the planet. That indeed is great news for developer PUBG Corp. but the one thing that is keep bugging them constantly is the problem with the rising number of cheats that are being drawn towards the game like moth to fire. To deal with this issue, they have taken several necessary measures in-game and even took help from law enforcement.

pubg anti cheat update delayed for pc

They have been working on an effective anti-cheat patch and that update was about to drop today, on February 5 but unfortunately, it is delayed for now. This patch was supposed to be the most ruthless mechanism they have ever come up with to fight against the cheating problem in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. During their compatibility checking on their test servers, the studio faced an issue and thus delayed the release of the update.

RELATED: Tencent Helped Chinese Police Arrest PUBG Cheaters

The patch was about to block people from using third-party programs that would either help the players with the gameplay or improve the graphics for visual aid. It will go through the system and search within the game files to look for such applications that either effects or interacts with PUBG.

One particular third-party program that the PUBG developers found unfair to use is called ReShade that helps players to make the game more vibrant that it's usually pale visual. That means, users of ReShade may gain slight competitive advantage over the ones who doesn't use it. However, the using of ReShade will not resulting a ban to anyone. Instead, it will prevent the users from playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds as long as the program is installed in the system.

RELATED: PUBG Anti-Cheat Will Block ReShade

In some cases, players may need to reinstall the game to get back online for the patch to work. The post from PUBG forums also informs that various audio or video recording software that don't really concern the gameplay might also be blocked by the update and one such example will be Nvidia ShadowPlay. This is of course a temporary issue that the developers are trying to get a solution for as soon as possible.

RELATED: PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds PC 1.0 Update #2

One other important thing to note is that, anti-cheat software developer BattlEye has banned over more than 1 million cheats for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. In October 2017, they have been banning 6K-13K players on PUBG per day and the peak was 20K for a single day. The numbers of ban then escalated from a 42K to 100K for a 24 hour time period. Most of these cheats were banned from China and following the January bans the amount of banned PUBG players have totaled at 1.5 million so far, which is never a good sign.

Last December, a stat showed PUBG having crossed the landmark for 3 million concurrent players and set a new high for the game. According to the most recent graph, the game still has more than 2.8 million concurrent participants on Steam. Cheating is a cancerous problem in any given online multiplayer game and given the problem with the ever-growing number of cheats in PUBG hasn't still daunted the fans of the game means; there is still hope to eradicate this malice.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is an online last-man-standing shooter released in 2017 for PC and Xbox One. Microsoft and PUBG Corp. are trying their heart and soul with an anti-cheat solution for PC version to improve the environment for the most popular battle royale out there. Hopefully, they will also take initiatives for an Xbox One edition as well.

PUBG Anti-Cheat Will Block ReShade

Even though PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been dominating both PC and Xbox One, the most common complain you always hear about the game is that the color palette of this last-man-standing shooter is not vibrant enough. In other words, the visual of this game is sort of pale compared to any other. So, people who play this game on Microsoft Windows uses many third-party tools to see things better and one of the program is called ReShade.

RELATED: Tencent Helped Chinese Police Arrest PUBG Cheaters

Currently, PUBG developers are working on to make sure that people cannot use ReShade anymore in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to increase fairness or to make it more colorful. While all ReShade does is to add more light to the eyes of the players but it also helps the user see their opponents better in the background. So, the program is actually helping the players with a seemingly non-harmful yet unfair means to win.

Ever since the survival shooter game of PUBG Corporation hit an incredible height on Steam and Xbox One, it attracted the unwanted attention of the cheats to the game. They even added a replay camera through one of their latest update to file reports against anything in-game that looks suspicious.

Previously, Brendan Greene, director of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds deemed the usage of ReShade as not an offense that should get them banned and flagged it "Okay". Some of the popular PUBG streamers also used ReShade in the past on many occasion. Plus, considerable amount of request from spectators were made about the program for enhancing the viewing experience for them. However, developers have finally decided that they are not going to allow it anymore.

Apparently, they are testing a new anti-cheat solution to fend off the cheats in their test servers. Any third-party program that helps player to affect the visuals or gameplay in any way possible will be blocked out from now on for the sake of a better gaming environment. As ReShade is a renowned program used by PUBG players to improve visuals, it is getting blocked away too.

As last-man-standing shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds takes over the border of China to expand its global reach, the current top-selling video game of the world is not free of cheating problem just yet. Game’s distributor in China and the biggest gaming company on earth, Tencent Holdings Ltd. is currently going all out at war against those who attempts to cheat in-game and disrupts the environment of fair play for other players.

Roughly 8 million players of the game are from United States and the rest is from various other countries of the world. Because of its massive consumer base, Tencent had to make sure that players who bought this game has the experience they seek from the game and not some cheat gets to rob them off that.

So, they enlisted help from the Chinese police to dig up and drag out those underground groups that are responsible for creating bots to manipulate the game environment. As part of this initiative, already 30 cases have been filed and 120 are arrested for involvement with the cheat. The cheat-software makers were helping people mostly with aimbots and wallhacks, which made it near impossible for the general players to win.

The main reason for this online battle royale game to find the attraction of the cheat-software makers is the insane amount of popularity it has in the market. Ever since the game is launched, people have been losing their mind over it and that massive hype has been increasing every day. An in-game automated banning system is recently introduced to the game through an update that has helped clear out hackers from the game to an estimated 67.5 percent.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds PC 1.0 Update #2 is currently on test servers and one of the prominent features of this PUBG update is a system which is called the replay report tool. This will allow the players to report about any other participants suspected of cheating in the game so that they can be taken care of and this is the developers' effort to create the game environment fairer. They urged everyone to properly implement the tool to help them identify any active cheats through a post on Steam.

A few more tweaks have been done for the betterment of the in game performance and many bugs are fixed but those will not compromise any gameplay elements. Such as the visible distance when players are parachuting down to the island will be reduced to improve server performance. Reportedly, the La Bendita on Miramar desert map will have more objects to help players find better cover during the battle royale.

Another little change that PUBG Corp. has made is that they have changed the design of the in-game energy drink. From the very beginning of the game, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds added an energy drink called Hot Bull, which is a clear imitation of the Red Bull beverage. The latest update also changed the design of the cans and it is branded with a new logo of a mustached man instead of two bulls butting heads. So, players may feel a little downed as the in-game Red Bull SWAG will be no more!

There are two types of loot boxes containing Biker and Desperado crate cosmetic items. They are now on test servers and players will be given 100,000 BP and six Early Bird keys to try them out. However, PUBG Corp. assures that since they are all for testing purpose, BP and items will not be transferable to live accounts. Once the testing phase is over, the loot crates and replay report tool will be brought into the live game should they prove to be in stable condition.

PUBG May Come to PlayStation 4

2017 was undoubtedly dominated by developer PUBG Corporation's last-man-standing shooter Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds on both PC and Xbox One. They even managed to cross international border with the game by having to release the game on China. Still, there is one particular space left for PUBG to conquer that is PlayStation 4 and the CEO of the company has recently hinted the possibility of it happening in the future.

As you can see, right now Xbox One is the only console that is privileged to Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds on it, which makes the game exclusive to the platform at least for now. The PUBG Corp is willing to release the title on every possible console out there but for now they are mostly focusing on completing the game for Xbox One because there are many in-game issues yet to resolve and they are gradually going at it.

First of all, the game isn't entirely complete which is why it was on Early Access of Steam and now in Game Preview on Xbox One. Whether or not Sony wants the multiplayer online battle royale of 2017 on their console, they did not offer any pre-release program like those mentioned above. Now, this is why they have to completely finish making Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds to release on PlayStation 4. However, PUBG Corp is very much interested to explore this possibility.

Sony is very strict when it comes to release any game on PlayStation Store because of their restriction policy on quality. In some of the cases, some games took six more months to release on PS4 even though it was completed. Depending on your views on the pros and cons of pre-release programs of Steam or Xbox One, it can either turn out to be a great plus point or a sore end. This can still turn very positive for the developers as by the time they will finish the Xbox One version, they will figure out what to do with the PlayStation 4 release.

PUBG Crosses 3 Million Concurrent Players

If we say that the year 2017 was dominated by the newly released sensation of a multiplayer online battle royale game called PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, we won't be exaggerating much, right? We know we are right on this one. Because, there was literally news about PUBG every week if not every month and sometimes there were interesting scoops on the game twice in a day. We just couldn't catch a break from it as it seemed. That's not a bad thing though.

PUBG Crosses 3 Million Concurrent Players

From the Early Access days on Steam, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has set a couple of impressive milestones for having a large number of concurrent players online. Back in September, PUBG hit the mile marker of 1 million players. Then October saw the number grow to double just as it exited the Early Access stage and now at the end of the year, the game reached the milestone of 3 million players simultaneously participating in the hottest online battle royale.

The closest number nearing the landmark of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds that any other game has managed to reach till date is Dota 2. This multiplayer online battle arena game from Valve Corporation has the record of reaching 1.29 million players but even that number hasn't been above anywhere near 1 million since February 2017. Currently, Dota 2 has a number of concurrent players online between 50-70 thousands at best.

Before today, many online portals and sites already published a bunch of fake news on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds already hitting the 3 million players' peak point and since everyone is so damn hyped with the game, some actually believed it to be true. PUBG eventually did managed to reach that peak though as it was quite inevitable for the game at this point of increasing popularity. It wasn't until Steam’s official stats page confirmed the news to be true, we weren't absolutely sure if this have happened.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Having Issues on Xbox One

Given the fact that this one is the first game of developer PUBG Corporation, they did a pretty impressive job and Microsoft Studios have stuck a major deal to have the game exclusively on their consoles, which is a very calculated smart move. Games tend to have found with new issues with their graphics and performance once they are released on PC and by the looks of the games' current status, a playable version of the game on any console seems like a far-fetched idea.

Microsoft’s Game Preview program has recently launches PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and if you play the game on Xbox One X which has a 4K support, you will notice the visual superiority of PUBG on a console than a mid-range PC. However, if you have already experienced Xbox One X version of Call of Duty: World War II then you will realize how less polished the game is in terms of graphical textures compared to other games on the same console.

At the very start of each match, you can see the slothful frame rates that slowly escalates the more you advance forward and it won't take much time for anyone to note that the game is not constant at any given frame rate. Since Xbox One X is the most advanced console in the market that offers the best graphical enhancement, that kind of inconsistency is really bothering for any players in general. The frame rate shift is more obvious if you switch from an Xbox One to Xbox One X.

If you let the downside of the console version of PUBG slide, then it's still pretty fun game considering this one retains almost every aspects of the game that made it a fun-play in the first place. So, if you can let pass the expectation you had for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on Xbox One or Xbox One X, you can still enjoy it anyway.
