No Man's Sky Getting Multiplayer

No Man’s Sky’s big multiplayer update is finally launches in July to to race, build and dogfight with friends.

One of the main features co-founder of developer studio Hello Games, Sean Murray had announced about their action-adventure survival game No Man’s Sky was multiplayer during pre-launch of the game. However, that was missing upon release and became one of the major causes for a huge backlash from fans. They sure have to keep themselves from making that sort of marketing missteps and in effort to improve the game; they are bringing true multiplayer experience.

You probably know by now that, Hello Games will be bringing the next big update for their 2016's release this summer and it will be released for Xbox One as well. Titled “NEXT”, this update will drop on July 24 with a full-fledged multiplayer mode that may finally bring an end to an era after awaiting two years in hope and feeling betrayed. Looks like the studio is finally up for earning some redemption by delivering what they promised for this space exploration adventure.

Initially failing to provide a lot that they actually had in stores, the game forced UK’s Advertising Standards Authority to investigate on Hello Games and its small team of approximately twelve employees. It was really surprising that even after allying up with a publisher like Sony, they would even try to do that. However, they are occasionally releasing a series of free updates to provide those features that weren't there during release and make amends for all those misleading promises.

Although partial features of multiplayer was already implemented through their third major update “The Atlas Rises”, which was released on the game's one year anniversary, the new announcement by Murray suggests that everything is going to change and more players will be taking part when the real deal comes to play. So, the excitement and fun of base building, surviving and racing together is no longer a far-fetched dream in No Man’s Sky then? Only time will tell.

We have an interview of Sean Murray coming to Inside Xbox web series to announce Multiplayer and the anticipated release date for “NEXT” update.

No Man’s Sky is already available to play on PC and PlayStation 4 and now finally coming to Xbox One along with an enhanced version for Xbox One X. Finally all 18 quintillion planets of the game are coming together very soon and some of the players are still quite skeptical but can you really blame them? We only hope that upcoming fourth major expansion really delivers what they promised and players finally get what they have been waiting for.

State of Decay 2 May Come to Steam

During a developer livestream of Xbox Exclusive State of Decay 2 at PAX East, an error message states "Unable to connect with Steam".

Open world zombie game State of Decay 2 is a sequel of 2013's original State of Decay from Undead Labs and Microsoft Studios. Though the game is an Xbox One-exclusive, it will also release for PC or you can play it on any of these two platforms with support from Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere system. Aside from being available on Microsoft Store, the game might also find place on Steam, according to some recent hints from PAX-East 2018.

All these rumors suddenly arise when an unexpected error message popped up in the middle of a developer live-stream at PAX East that indicated there was a login issue regarding Steam. The video has been removed afterwards but by then, it already circulated throughout online and rumor is spread about its possible release on digital distribution platform Steam. Although the game’s FAQ has Valve’s launcher listed as a topic, there are no details to reach any conclusion on that.

The error message during said:
"Unable to connect with Steam. Make sure Steam is running, you are logged in, no other instances are running, then restart the game."

Now that the video containing that error message is removed from Twitch archive of Undead Labs, it can no longer be considered as a mere buzz. While it might seem a bit weird giving up one of their most prominent title for another platform, it also makes sense if you consider this a step to sell more copies for PC. Besides, if this rumors and speculation came true then we shouldn't be very surprised because the first game of the series was initially released on Steam’s Early Access alongside Xbox 360.

In a time of crisis for Xbox exclusive games, Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 are the only hope for Microsoft in 2018. The former is already out and most of people owning an Xbox One are looking for the latter. Because, being an exclusive for Microsoft actually had an impact for Rare’s shared world action-adventure title. Sony’s God of War on the other hand scored an incredible response from critics, forecasting for a good run in advance and two more games; The Last of Us Part 2 and Insomniac’s Spider-Man are also joining soon.

We believe, exclusive games crisis won't be solved overnight and meanwhile, testing other platforms like Steam to improve sells in overall does sound like a reasonable idea.

Within a couple of months we are going to get our hands on co-op multiplayer survival horror game State of Decay 2 from Undead Labs and Microsoft Studios. As the moment of release approaches closer every day, the developers are dropping new information every now and then to tease us some more about the game. For now, we got a brand-new trailer featuring new in-game footage and gameplay, straight outta PAX East 2018.

Be sure to take a quick look at the clip below to have some idea on combat and surrounding environments you will be stepping on from Undead Labs.

The gameplay trailer from above gives us some more in-depth glance at base building and character selection than the once we saw before. Defending your base from attacks of incoming zombie horde is as important as clearing out the once roaming in the street. Though it wasn't some serious piece of performance in the clip, we still get the idea of how things are. Most important aspect we noticed is that the balance of stockpile, build base and protect it from undead invasion at all time.

Combat system presents some variety for you to keep from being repetitive. You can sneak up on them using stealth, melee attack them directly, run over by them with your vehicle, hit them with your car door or just grab one of them and throw away. One thing that you will quickly realize after a while that, these zombies don't come at you all at once but if you linger them for some time, they will quickly overwhelm you and it will be too late then.

State of Decay 2 is an open world zombie game, which will be available to play on May 22, 2018 for PC and Xbox One as part of Xbox Play Anywhere experience. Bravo to the developer team for not including any micro-transactions within the game, which is a great initiative in the age of loot boxes.

Dark Souls: Remastered New Gameplay

A very few games that are tough as nails like From Software’s action role-playing game Dark Souls can garner a fan following that keeps up a petition for a Remastered Edition for this long, which finally is paying off. May 25, 2018 will see the release of Dark Souls: Remastered on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The appeal for the original title hasn't faded a little in past seven years.

Dark Souls: Remastered New Gameplay

Many revelatory action RPG came and go, Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III were released, Sony released PlayStation 4 console but still, we very much needed Dark Souls: Remastered. Bandai Namco seriously deserves some praise to bring back tons of fans' dreams into life by working on it. Fans worldwide are just not waiting for a full remake treatment but need added content and improvements on original title.

As a courtesy of PlayStation Underground, we have exclusive gameplay footage from world of Dark Souls: Remastered in 4K!

The exclusive gameplay showed above is captured in 4k resolution and 60 FPS as a preview of how things are going to be in Remastered Edition.

Getting back at it with protagonist Chosen Undead is like a ride back memory lane exploring open world of Lordran around you as you cautiously take your steps behind a shield. Veteran players had also taken time adjusting to the gameplay at start. If you were a skilled player of your time then figuring out playing part once again with Dark Souls: Remastered will be no problem for you. Your undead adversaries will fall before you as you constantly make progress.

World of Dark Souls

Players who have been through Bloodborne and Dark Souls III know how it is around with a mob on your tail. In comparison to that, original Dark Souls can be pretty quiet and lonely. Well, don't just get depressed just yet. Plenty of booby traps and sudden ambush attacks every now and then will keep things exciting for you. That's right. All the items and enemies are right there for you. So, keep your eyes open to protect your hide from those sneaky undead residents.

A fine aspect is of course the soundtrack, which is out there blending perfectly with the environment yet it's almost non-existent. Your 4K-experience will be intensified if you just put a pair of headphones on. It will make boss killing moment or facing opponents like Black Knights or giant rats as real as it can get. Once you play the game, you will realize that they have done more changes and tweaks than a few visual upgrades.

Another great thing about Dark Souls: Remastered is that now it allows more players to join in. Originally, four-player were allowed to take part in their quest but six-players are accessible for multiplayer. Try imagining six friends who enjoys Dark Souls with somewhat same level of intensity in a same-room because, it is also coming to Switch.

Prepare Not to Die

Aside from playing at a 30 FPS rate and a 720p handheld mode, we believe it has great potential considering an exciting six person multiplayer mode. This could literally give the title an overwhelming reception from Switch owners and led to Remastered Editions of Dark Souls sequels. Although, TV mode offers you a 1080p display, having six television sets on a same room is very unlikely to happen.

Dark Souls was originally released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco back in 2011. It has a notorious reputation for being ruthlessly difficult among fans but the sooner you will get a grip at what is going on and what you want to do, you will pass through pretty easily. Hold onto it and don't just leave the battlefield at first sign of trouble.

We had to give it to developer id Software to team up with publisher Bethesda Softworks to rejuvenate the fan-favorite Doom series with 2016's release of the same name. Yes, that's right. This is an age of upgraded graphics and since we are living in a time when world's most powerful video game consoles are available to experience some of the finest visuals, we should feast our eyes. The newest update dated for March 29, heading towards the game will allow people to enjoy 4K resolution on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. This is only fitting that Doom is finally adding cutting-edge graphics display to their fast-paced shooting title.

We have a short display of how it would feel to chop off the heads of demons from Hell in this new gameplay trailer.

The core fun of brutally massacring the demon hordes of Hell is now intensified a few folds. Those BFG blasts you shoot will be felt like never before and so the fun of slicing chainsaw through your enemy heads will be uncomfortably satisfying. The 4K resolution patch is only exclusive for the above mentioned platforms as the other consoles do not support higher caliber of graphics superiority like them.

State of Decay 2 Won't Have Micro-Transactions

We live in such an age of loot-boxes and in-game purchases now that a new game from a major publisher that doesn't include the concept of micro-transactions of any sort is hard to believe. If the title happens to be one of the most-anticipated upcoming releases then it is literally unbelievable for the players. Following Sony’s God of War taking such initiative, developer Undead Labs and publisher Microsoft Studios decided to do the same with State of Decay 2.

Whereas micro-transactions and loot boxes are a ploy to pull more money from the consumers aside from the purchase price they already paid and every other studio is pretty fond of this practice, Undead Labs took a bold move by strictly standing on the opposite way of this road. Though we don't have a direct quote but studio head of developer, Jeff Strain assures that there won't be any micro-transactions in their game.

Despite their initial stand against the industry trend, when it was revealed that the Standard Edition of State of Decay 2 will cost you only $29.99, fans started speculating what could be the reason for this considerably low cost and the studio had to re-assure them that they are sticking to their earlier decision about loot boxes. This theory comes from the fact that the original State of Decay had a loot box "Prepper's Pack" consists of a gun, a melee weapon and an SUV available for $0.99.

RELATED: State of Decay 2 Collector’s Edition Announced

When one of Undead Labs’ live streams was overwhelmed with comments asking for their plan to compensate the low-cost, the developers had to come clean about it. Although micro-transactions and loot boxes are completely off the table for State of Decay 2, there will be some paid DLC contents just like every other games does for the players to enjoy. If you are wondering what about the cosmetic items, then probably that also falls into the same category.

The developers do recognize that by making their game available on the market for only $29.99 was a huge risk but sinking into the infamous micro-transaction trend would be even worse for long-run. Apparently, they wanted to create a dedicated community for the game so that they all support the title and buys the upcoming expansions as well. Another reason that probably made them cautious was about the idea was the major loot box controversy of Star Wars Battlefront II from last year.
