Rainbow Six Siege Reverse Friendly Fire Update

Ubisoft developers are rolling out Reverse Friendly Fire update for Rainbow Six Siege to punish team-killers.

Competitive online tactical shooter video games like Rainbow Six Siege suffer heavily from a never ending issue of grieving players who often abuses its gameplay mechanic of friendly fire to give their teammates a hard time.

In a latest update for R6S, developer/publisher Ubisoft is introducing Reverse Friendly Fire system to have player's weapon turn back at them for those who kill their teammates to grief or to troll as a deserving punishment.

To keep up the high stakes gameplay of R6Siege and fight against team killing, RFF is implemented. Starting with Thursday's patch, Reverse Friendly Fire system will be online now that developers have tried it on test servers for past two months.

Once it goes live, players can choose to activate reflecting bullets for a match so whenever any teammates try to fire shots at a member of their own team, it will be redirected back at them as an immediate karma for their misbehavior.

RELATED: Rainbow Six Siege Instant Bans for Toxicity

RFF will also apply for thrown unique gadgets like drones and operator cams but instead of player it belongs to, damage will inflict upon the device itself. Explosives however, will do damage under the system except for a few select items.

Depending on pending feedback from R6S community, these features may change and act differently in future. Even explosives doing damage to teammates can undergo some change on upcoming season of Siege.

Last year, developers at Ubisoft placed strict moderation system for R6S in an attempt to instantly ban anyone engaging in slurs and toxicity. Other than booting them from a match, friendly fire flag seems to be a much efficient way.

Considered as one of the best multiplayer games out there, Rainbow Six Siege is available to play PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Hopefully, Reverse Friendly Fire update will let players have a better experience tacklinng grieving team members.

Devil May Cry Comes to Nintendo Switch

Relive the adventure with legendary Dante as original Devil May Cry is coming to Nintendo Switch this summer.

Following release of Devil May Cry 5, many were asking whether or not the game would make it to Nintendo Switch and developer/publisher Capcom has now answered that by announcing Devil May Cry for next-gen Nintendo handheld.

Although DMC5 will not be making it to Switch just yet, original hack and slash action-adventure title of 2001 for PlayStation 2 platform is announced to arrive this summer and all we are waiting for now is an official release date.

Last year, Capcom re-released Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition into one collective bundle as Devil May Cry HD Collection, which sold for $29.99 in retail and mostly received positive feedback from fans.

Whereas DMC HD Collection came offering its original trilogy, Switch version would seemingly be a stand-alone game and that obviously make people wonder why releasing an average priced bundle in other platforms and release only one for Switch!

Nintendo platform has never had a Devil May Cry game so far and its upcoming Switch debut can lead to a possible future when Dante eventually joins roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, according to game director Hideaki Itsuno.

Although fan-response towards Fallen Order was quite positive in general, no gameplay footage has been shown in the reveal trailer and CEO Vince Zampella recently announced to showcase more of the game at EA Play and E3 2019.

Despite publisher Electronic Arts telling everyone that they would not feature any loot boxes or micro-transactions and entire game will be focused on a single player campaign, people simply can't take their word at face value given their past records.

Since publisher EA has horribly failed to meet expectation with Star Wars Battlefront II and then cancelled development for Star Wars game titled "Project Ragtag" in past, all are anticipating for Jedi: Fallen Order with high hopes.

By next month, eager fans and players would all have their much expected exclusive first-look at some actual gameplay to get hyped for and Respawn has confirmed showing up at two events then in a post on Twitter.

EA Play event usually kicks-off with video presentation and just before E3 each year but EA has decided to do things a bit differently in 2019 and getting rid of their presentation part to replace it with live-stream showcase from June 7-9.

Set right after the tragic events of Order 66 that purged almost every Jedi member throughout the galaxy except lone Padawan Cal Kestis, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be launched in late 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Origin Access Adds 12 EA Star Wars Games

Electronic Arts have added 12 new Star Wars games to Origin Access, Including original Star Wars Battlefront II.

To celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4th, dedicated fans from all over the world observes an unofficial holiday each year since 2011 that grew upon a popular catchphrase from Star Wars franchise and became an iconic part of fandom.

After their disastrous run with Star Wars Battlefront II in 2017 and cancelled game "Project Ragtag" under Visceral Games that was under development, EA has lost their credibility of producing decent Star Wars titles to fans.

Upon revealing of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at Star Wars Celebration last month, many are willing to give them one last chance. An official gameplay showcase for Fallen Order is announced to be taken place at EA Play and E3 2019 next month.

Apex Legends Bans 700,000 Cheaters

In a never-ending battle with cheaters, Respawn has banned over 700,000 players on Apex Legends so far.

Set within the fictional universe of Titanfall series, free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends by developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts became an instant hit upon launch and managed to amass 50 million players in a month.

However, one thing the game has been suffering from other than issues like constantly losing its player count is cheaters and Respawn is actively playing a vigilant role with EA to prevent them from ruining experience for others.

RELATED: Apex Legends Revealed and Out Now

When Apex was initially launched, developers had to ban 16,000 cheaters right off the bat and that number has been increasing. Attempts to create over 300,000 new accounts have been thwarted and more than 4,000 cheat seller accounts are banned.

Above mentioned figures are just from past 20 days on PC platform and Respawn has blocked 770,000 players since release. Of course, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are not completely above cheating but those are much easier to keep an eye on.

RELATED: Apex Legends Crosses 50 Million Players

After deploying a reporting tool in Season One update, detecting issues regarding aim-assists, speed boosts, x-ray vision and other performance-enhancing mods selling became easier and more than half a million players got booted for such illicit activity.

Cheating in competitive multiplayer games is a constant problem and developers have teamed up with security and fraud unit of Electronic Arts in order to continue crusade of delivering a clean and healthy environment for players to enjoy the experience.

RELATED: Apex Legends Rumored to Include Titans

Although developer team has refused to share how they are fighting the battle but they are attacking cheaters and its sellers from any and every possible angle they can with every resources and tools they can get their hands on.

Despite losing much of early momentum, Apex Legends has still great potential for eSports but much of that possibility is threatened by cheating and CEO of Respawn, Vince Zampella intends to release more seasonal updates to retain players while they continue this fight.

Game Journalist Threatens to Tank Earthworm Jim Review

Doug Tennapel being involved with upcoming Earthworm Jim annoys "journalist" Chris Scullion, who implies giving a bad review.

Earlier, a brand-new Earthworm Jim game is announced on Facebook and Twitter to celebrate its upcoming 25 year anniversary with its original team on board and everyone who ever played even a single title of the franchise was so happy.

While most people were excited with joy, this revelation didn't sit well with some people and one such person is "journalist" Chris Scullion, who is not at all pleased because of Doug TenNapel being part of its creative team.

Previously worked for Nintendo Life, Polygon and Vice, Scullion has posted this initial reaction on Twitter.

RELATED: Epic Games Acquires Psyonix

CEO of Intellivision, Tommy Tallarico recently made announcement for the heavily anticipated game that would be an exclusive for their upcoming family-friendly console Intellivision Amico, currently set to launch at October 10, 2020.

Tallarico himself was a part of original development team alongside David Parry, Mike Dietz, Nick Bruty and of course, Earthworm Jim creator Doug TenNapel and the game was voted "Game of the Year" back then following release.

RELATED: Borderlands 3 Gameplay Reveal

After posting his concern over Twitter, Scullion jumped over to Facebook page of Tommy Tallarico and stepped into comment section to voice his serious issues with involvement of creator Doug TenNapel by replying to a fan.

Scullion states that though he is excited for new Earthworm Jim title but he would find it hard to support TenNapel. He even went further mentioning how it will be trickier for him to review the game if Doug is involved, which clearly has nothing to do with the game itself.

RELATED: PlayStation Plus Free Games for May 2019

By calling Doug TenNapel as a "transphobic prick" in his initial Tweet and taking issue over his taking part in the project, Scullion referring to a Twitter exchange from 2017 between Doug and Heather Alexandra, a writer for video game website Kotaku.

Heather posted a critique of the 1994 platformer and when TenNapel referred to Heather as a "good man" on his reply, it became an issue of misgendering since Heather identify as transgender person and it was presumed as a personal attack.

RELATED: Ghost Recon: Wildlands Operation Oracle Update

To keep the conversation on point, Tommy pointed out that while everyone has a right to be entitled to their opinion, people would get upset eventually whether Doug is involved and it is absolutely impossible to please everyone.

Bringing original Earthworm Jim team of 10 people back together was an effort to recreate that same experience that everyone loved back then and to keep it 100% authentic with a complete team effort for Intellivision console.

RELATED: Xbox Game Pass Adds Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and More

However, Chris Scullion once again states how that could be difficult for him to review the game when it comes out, basically implying indirectly that either he would give it a bad review or cover it in a negative aspect regardless of its merits.

He is called out for his nonsensical talk and an his implied threat by Chris Szarek, who points out how it is "Journalism 101" to have an obligation to be accurate and unbiased, according to ethics code of Society of Professional Journalists.

RELATED: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – Operation Spectre Rising Update

Szarek said to Scullion that he shouldn't be a reviewer if his review gets biased for someone's involvement to something and it is expected for a journalist to be impartial and set aside any personal differences before covering any story.

Obviously their exchange of comments were going back and forth for some time yet going nowhere near to a point where they could agree. In fact, Scullion responded saying he has been reviewing for past 13 years without any issue so far.

RELATED: Xbox Live Gold Free Games for May 2019

His deceptive talk couldn't fool Szarek even for a moment and then Scullion ultimately requested Tommy Tallarico to take their conversation to email. He allegedly blocked Chris Szarek on Facebook after exchanging some more.

What Scullion failed to see or probably didn't want to see here is that a person being involved has nothing to do with an actual game and he adding personal opinion and views on Doug in a game review clearly shows what his true motives are.

RELATED: Minecraft Creator Notch Excluded from Anniversary Event by Microsoft

Even though "journalist" Chris Scullion never bothered to reach out to Doug TenNapel, the latter has invited Scullion on his show. Our alleged "transphobe" is clearly more than willing to have a talk with his critique rather than ranting on social media.

People like Scullion only cares about writing trash pieces on people they hate for having different viewpoints and that's some quality journalistic integrity you can see right there, which is why people don't trust reviews these days anymore.

World War Z Season One DLC Roadmap

Saber Interactive reveals their post-launch free DLC roadmap for World War Z in coming months on 2019.

Although involvement of developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive in the third-person shooter title World War Z was a bit assuring, many were doubtful whether or not it would turn out to be another zombie game.

After ruling over UK sales charts following launch, WWZ has most recently sold over one million copies within first week of its release. It got developers all worked up to reveal their roadmap for upcoming free DLC updates to show their appreciation.

Then in June, another free update will add six-skull difficulty setting, which is suggested to be an extreme difficult level but it comes with bonus cosmetic items and exclusive rewards for dipping your toes into intense difficulty setting.

July would deliver a new weekly challenge mode that would bring some additional cosmetic accessories and useful items. Obviously, WWZ players on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One would have access to these post-launch DLC updates.
