Gris Coming to PS4

Indie platform-adventure Gris will take you to an emotional journey on PS4, arriving November 26, 2019.

When indie platform-adventure game Gris came out last year for Mac, Nintendo Switch and PC, it skipped release on two major consoles. A few months back in August, the game received an iOS port launched for players on mobile.

Today, developer Nomada Studio and publisher Devolver Digital has came out announcing a PlayStation 4 version of their critically-acclaimed title, which is more than a simple port and is set to release on November 26, 2019.

Lauded by fans for its stunning visual design and fluid animation, dev team decided to do some rework to its dreamlike world before PS4 launch. To make it the best version of Gris, they almost ran over all different aspects that made it great.

In an attempt to take advantage of PlayStation 4 Pro and its 4K display, over five thousand in-game assets are refurbished rather than just upscaling them on top of a few noticeable quality of life  improvements and an exclusive homage.

Its beautiful score has been put together without much compression for a cleaner audio output. Programmer Roger Mendoza of Nomada Studio hopes for their indie platformer to find an emotional connection with player community.

Gris will initially arrive at PlayStation Store for digital download and physical copies are available at Limited Run Games. Whether or not owners of Xbox One consoles will be able to enjoy this adventure in future is yet to confirm.

State of Decay 2 Coming to Steam

Undead Labs announced to release PC version of ultimate zombie survival fantasy State of Decay 2 via Steam in early 2020.

Last year, open-world zombie survival game State of Decay 2 from developer Undead Labs and publisher Microsoft Studios came out for Windows PC and Xbox One, amassing an impressive number of over 6 million players so far.

A successful sequel to 2013 survival horror title State of Decay, the game is currently available for purchase on Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass. According to an official announcement, SoD2 will also arrive on Steam in early 2020.

Following its release, Undead Labs has received a lot of fan-requests for bringing their ultimate zombie action-adventure to Steam. Even though it took them a year and so, they finally decided to bring the title to digital storefront of Valve.

SoD2 will come to Steam with Xbox Live cross-play support that lets you play with three of your other friends over Windows PC and Xbox One. After all, joining with group of friends will better your chances of survival in a post-apocalyptic.

Initially, survivors could jump into action on any of two select platforms using Xbox Play Anywhere system. Then an accidental leak from PAX East 2018 hinted at possibility of future Steam release before only a month of its launch.

An error message popped up unexpectedly during a developer live-stream on Twitch regarding a login issue of Steam. Though all video evidence was deleted, people were skeptical when they found Valve's launcher listed in FAQ page as a topic.

Original SoD found home in Early Access of Steam a few months after console launch, followed by remastered release of Year One: Survival Edition, most likely because there was no timed exclusivity period for Xbox console back then.

Since no definitive release date has been revealed for Steam launch yet, you can go ahead and add State of Decay 2 on wishlist to get instant notifications on any updates made to store page in future while you wait for its release next year.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne X Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds Event

Frozen frontiers of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will collide in frosty new Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds event.

A running trend for action role-playing game Monster Hunter: World, developer/publisher Capcom frequently arranges special limited time event by teaming up with popular franchise of their own and various others for.

In a latest collaboration quest, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion is having a crossover with The Frozen Wilds DLC of 2017 PlayStation 4-exclusive title Horizon Zero Dawn, which is live now for players on Sony consoles.

For a two-part event quest adventure, HZD protagonist character Aloy will step into icy grounds of "New World" to hunt down terrifying beasts. Being a natural hunter of mech creatures, she will have no trouble fitting in a frigid terrain.

Aside from playing as Aloy, there is a chance for Hunters to craft Light Bowgun, Stormslinger Prototype. This one is a ranged weapon from HZD expansion DLC that nicely fits into MH: World in terms of design aesthetics and usage.

Stormslinger used to be an upgrade for spear that Banuk shaman Ourea wielded in The Frozen Wilds and it now acts more like a ropecaster. Not only its power capacity has been expanded but an overcharge can also cause major blowback.

Similar to fierce canine beast Scorcher from HZD, you have thunderous beast Zinogre to face in Iceborne next month but make sure that you at least have a Master Rank of 24 or above and packing some Thunder Resistance before a confrontation.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Reportedly Coming in 2020

Capcom will reportedly release Resident Evil 3: Nemesis in 2020, following success of Resident Evil 2 Remake.

It has been reported and rumored several times since reveal of survival horror classic title Resident Evil 2 Remake at E3 2018 event that developer/publisher Capcom might be interested in a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

Reported by news outlet VGC and Spawn Wave YouTube channel, Capcom has been allegedly working on development of RE3: Nemesis remake that they are planning to release next year followed by an announcement at The Game Awards 2019.

In past, Spawn Wave has record of successfully leaking upcoming From Software release Elden Ring before official reveal at E3 2019. Besides, several other sources are reporting on the same rumor as well with a bit lesser skepticism.

Also, Capcom producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi mentioned earlier that they are open to ideas of a remake for 1999 original PlayStation game if there is a significant fan-demand, which caused RE2Make a possibility and sold 4.7 million units so far.

Capcom took Friday the 13th of July in 2018 to tease fans by posting an image on Twitter of RE3 antagonist Nemesis, comparing him to notoriously relentless stalker Jason Voorhees, both chasing and haunting their victims persistently.

Then earlier this year, they mysteriously tease fans on social media by putting a shot of protagonist Claire Redfield from RE2 Remake standing next to a massive hole in a wall before arrival of Mr. X, a few months after its launch.

When Capcom was looking for RE Ambassadors within United States back in August 2019, people were hoping for confirmation on RE3 Remake but it turned out to be a brand-new Resident Evil game titled Project Resistance.

However, during Closed Beta program of this team survival multiplayer experience last month, some players started to notice Resident Evil 3 save room theme is being played in-game, which is a rather interesting nod to add for sure.

Moreover, lead character Jill Valentine and her fellow Raccoon City survivor Carlos Oliveira has briefly appeared in first trailer of the game to add more fuel to that spark of fire, having fans to speculate even harder for RE3Make.

If show host Geoff Keighley truly ends up announcing Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake at the big night of TGA 2019 next month, it is most likely to come out at some later point in 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

Fans of hack and slash action RPG game series Diablo are excited once again after recent reveal of Diablo IV at BlizzCon 2019 by developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment following Diablo Immortal debacle from BlizzCon last year.

Lead systems designer David Kim stated that every skill categories will remain unlocked for all players to let them freely assign and select. Besides, the shown UI is not final just like many other aspects due to an ongoing development.

PC version of the game also had a same launch set date but there was no word from Athlon Games about a delay of any sort. Therefore, it is safe to assume that this long-running franchise reboot is heading to PC platform very soon.
