In case you are looking for credibility of the source, Evil VR apparently Tweeted about 30 minutes "1-Shot" Demo before it was revealed. Latest revealed details are not out of place either if you have been following up since RE7.

Resident Evil 2 was initially dubbed Resident Evil 1.5 and scrapped after 60% of development was done. Costume of female protagonist Elza Walker from that build is added in Deluxe and Collector's Edition of RE2 as a skin for Claire Redfield.

Similarly, early concept of Resident Evil 4 was made into Devil May Cry and another version was canned for technical limitations. Concepts of an enemy with a metal hook labeled as Hook Man from RE 3.5 may also be adapted to next game.

Capcom originally planned for Leon Kennedy to get infected by a virus that would cause him to suffer from hallucinations and see ghostly apparitions in RE4, which will likely be borrowed to Resident Evil 8 from the Hook Man version.

Despite all rumors for Capcom to overhaul Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, they noted that success of Resident Evil 2 Remake will determine future of a follow-up project. Judging by fan response, it is pretty safe to expect Nemesis to come chasing.

For now, we advise you to take this news with a grain of salt since none of these are from official source but then again, don't you think gameplay mechanics of RE2 blending into Biohazard saga would be an awesome experience?
