When an alleged achievement list got leaked on Reddit last month, Assassin's Creed 2020 was revealed to be Valhalla and not Ragnarok. Although its rumored name didn't last long, theory of possible Viking settings was almost confirmed.

With every other major release is getting pushed back and E3 2020 got cancelled earlier because of ongoing Coronavirus outbreak, newest Assassin's Creed game surely has its scheduled reveal date shifted by developers.

Renowned industry insider Shinobi602 was recently asked on Twitter if he knows when Ubisoft will announce next AC game and he replied saying "yes", only to get a follow-up of "when" that he responded with a .GIF hinting very soon.

These nods from Shinobi602 nicely align with various rumors of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X events coming in May 2020. One of the biggest dates that were pushed from an earlier calendar is May 5, which fits into very soon category.

Stadia Connect event on April 28, 2020 will also showcase a number of third-party games and since Assassin's Creed Odyssey was a Google Stadia launch title, Assassin's Creed 2020 may end up being revealed for the platform as well.

AC Odyssey came out almost two years ago and therefore, idea of a new series title is not too far-fetched at this point. Series fans are already excited nevertheless from rumors of a possible Vikings era setting and Norse mythology roots.

Even though Shinobi602 has been a trusted leaker for years, there is no official confirmation of a title or a date from Ubisoft just yet. However, fans can finally hope to get their exclusive first-look at Assassin's Creed 2020 very soon.

Assassin's Creed Ragnarok Rumored to Reveal in February 2020

According to recent leaks, Ubisoft will reveal "Assassin's Creed Ragnarok" in February next year with a fall 2020 release window.

Following back-to-back release of Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, developer/publisher Ubisoft decided to skip 2019 from launching any new Assassin's Creed games in favor of post-launch support.

Some leaked information emerged recently on Reddit suggests that next installment of AC franchise is most likely to take place during Viking era and will be called "Assassin's Creed Ragnarok", similar to a rumor from May 2019.

According to that same leaked source, Ragnarok is going to be revealed at an upcoming PlayStation event next year in February, which may be a hint to State of Play livestream and will have a release window of fall 2020.

Ubisoft has apparently planned for a multi-platform release for the title across current and next generation of consoles. Its map location will set around big part of England and Scandinavia, including London and Plimouth city.

RELATED: Bleeding Edge Release Date

Players would be given choice to pick a male or female Assassin named Jora, with a plot revolving on revenge throughout first civilization and Norse mythology for a major part with some ties to both Origins and Odyssey.

Protagonist character may explore realms of Asgard and Jottuneim while meeting legendary beings like Loki and Odin. In terms of gameplay, Ragnarok will follow general mechanics of Odyssey with more improvements and role-playing aspects.

RELATED: Rust Announced for PS4 and Xbox One

Developers are intending to bring back and implement beloved NPC recruitment system from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. You can use a boat for travel but there will be less naval fights than Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag or Odyssey.

A couple of inconsistency in this leak raise question about authenticity of its source with one such example being Ragnarok taking place on circa 800 B.C. but Vikings did not come to England until 793 A.D., almost after 1600 years.

RELATED: Wasteland 3 Release Date

Whether or not this leak is accurate, it could simply be a typo as 800 A.D. is pretty close to when it happened in real-world. It could also be a mix up from leaked data of upcoming open-world action adventure game Gods & Monsters.

Earlier this year, a rumor claimed for next AC game to be titled "Assassin's Creed Legion" with a set release window of 2020 and set entirely on Rome, instead of feudal Japan or China like many fans have heavily speculated in past.

RELATED: Netflix's The Witcher Season 2 Confirmed

Based on early leaks, Legion is more suited to be next Assassin's Creed game in a trilogy that would carry the legacy of Origins and Odyssey. When it is finally out, AC series can easily proceed to a new direction with a new title or a saga.

Assassin's Creed Ragnarok was previously codenamed "Kingdom" and it would presumably kick-start another trilogy in Assassin's Creed annual action-adventure stealth game series delved into mythical stories for coming years after Legion.

Assassin's Creed Unity Positively Review-Bombed on Steam

Steam community review-bombed Assassin's Creed Unity to praise its giveaway by Ubisoft last week.

Although action-adventure game Assassin's Creed Unity from developer/publisher Ubisoft came out in 2014 and not has been a trending title for a while, it suddenly became a topic for discussion for gamers worldwide lately.

After iconic cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris caught fire on April 15, the French video game studio donated €500,000 for its restoration and offered free copies of AC Unity, which led to fans positively review bombing it on Steam.

Last week, Ubisoft offered PC version of the game for free so that people can virtually explore and admire this 856 year-old historic Cathedral. Gamers become nostalgic going back to a French Revolution-era Paris and to re-discover this prominent sight.

It generated a surge of complimentary reviews all of a sudden by Steam community on its Store page and for a game that previously had a "mixed" status, has now garnered a "very positive" reputation after recent wave of reviews came in.

AC Unity players are expressing gratitude for allowing them an opportunity to revisit and appreciate what Notre-Dame was and one even joked that they will need to burn down a pyramid to get Assassin's Creed Origins for free.

Ubisoft took a break from the franchise after a rocky launch of Assassin's Creed Unity back in 2015 but as it seems, players have forgiven them for that now and surprisingly, Steam has not even flagged it for off-topic review activities either.

Set during French Revolution era of a fictional Paris, AC Unity focuses efforts of protagonist Arno Victor Dorian in exposing forces behind wheels of Revolution and its gameplay follows a stealth based combat system in an open-world.

While designing the in-game version of this renowned monumental piece, senior level artist Caroline Miousse said in a 2014 interview that they went through a lot of blueprints and Assassin's Creed historian Maxime Durand helped of course.

Although she never visited it before working on the project back then, she looked at a lot of references and talked to people to know how it's like to be there. However, the one you will see in AC Unity is not the one from French Revolution.

Much like Eiffel tower, Notre-Dame de Paris is an iconic part of the city skyline that is quite hard to miss because of a massive spire aside from its two towers and has gone through an extraordinary recreation process during development of Unity.

Rebuilt after 18th century with wood, it suffered the most during recent fire and Miousse actually changed it a bit to make it look cool. Whenever players get to climb on it, they have a chance to see Paris from very top and it is an amazing view.

New Assassin's Creed Game Rumored to Release in 2020

Apparently titled "Assassin's Creed Legion", rumor has it that Ubisoft is planning next game of the series to set in Rome and to release on 2020.

After wrapping up Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey in two back-to-back years, developer/publisher Ubisoft announced back in 2018 that they are skipping 2019 for releasing any new titles from the popular action-adventure stealth game series.

Recently, a new rumor suggests that the next AC game will be titled "Assassin's Creed Legion" and released at some point in 2020. It would be set on Rome, contrary to what many predicted about the game being set on feudal Japan or China.

On the message board discussion about upcoming Watch Dogs 3 rumors of the website Fireden, it is suggested that the premise for forthcoming Assassin's Creed title may take place somewhere around 169 AD, when the reign of Marcus Aurelius was ending.

The same source also suggests that players will be given the choice to pick between a male and female assassin character named Cassius or Lucia like Alexios and Kassandra from like the previous Assassin's Creed release.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Lets You Unlock Bayek

As a tribute to Assassin's Creed Origins, you can unlock Bayek as a Legendary-level lieutenant in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

With Assassin's Creed Origins, developer/publisher Ubisoft has set a new framework for their popular action role-playing franchise and Assassin's Creed Odyssey is simply following that groundwork from its predecessor as the latest title from the series.

The reinvention worked fine for Origins and the sequel is doing even better following the same formula for most part. In order to connect to the larger Assassin's Creed world and as a nice callback to the previous game, they have added Bayek in Odyssey.

Though Bayek can be unlocked within the game, he is still not a playable character in the game. Instead, he will assist your selected character, Alexios or Kassandra as a Legendary level lieutenant during the Peloponnesian War onboard the ship Adrestia.

Just because he is not a playable character doesn't mean that Bayek could come in handy naval battles and offer buffs to the vessel. He will talk to Adrestia's crew and when boarding on enemy vessels, he can assist you as well.

According to the rarity, lieutenant's perks can vary and so does their amount of damage inflicting ability. Since Legendary is the strongest among Epic, Rare and Common level, having him on your side is like having an ace on the deck.

Lieutenants can also aid in combat when player summon them using their ability "Call to Arms" under the Stealth branch of skill tree. Depending on their weakest to strongest level, they will either distract enemies to provide cover or even kill them.

This is not the first time where Odyssey brought a protagonist from a previous Assassin's Creed game to feature as a lieutenant. Earlier, the game drafted Victorian era assassin, Evie Frye from Assassin's Creed Syndicate as a Legendary lieutenant.

Aside from aiding Alexios or Kassandra on board, she wielded a spear on fight and buffs javelin damage by 9%. Available as Ubisoft Club reward, both Evie and Bayek can be assigned as lieutenants at the same time when you upgrade the Adrestia.

Evie can be unlocked by completing the Master Assassin challenge whereas Bayek would be up for 40 Units at Ubisoft Club. Though it is not absolutely necessary but as you can see, having them watching your back is a great relief when you are fighting.

Currently available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Assassin's Creed Odyssey added these characters as additional content, which is a fun piece of nod to their expanded in-game universe and fans who haven't been following the past games for so long can sure appreciate the effort.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for Xbox One X

Enhanced graphics aside, Xbox One X provides the best experience for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in overall.

Before taking a year off in 2019 from their action role-playing Assassin’s Creed game series, developer/publisher Ubisoft has released the latest installment of the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on October 5 for all major platforms.

It was also given an enhanced treatment for Xbox One X to offer the best visual experience on the console, which is currently considered as one of the most powerful system there is. The teams involved in development put their best effort to tell the most compelling stories though the game.

When creating Assassin’s Creed Origins, the studio took a technological leap which helps them forge Odyssey. The enhanced feel of 4K on consoles channels a majestic vibe that improves the overall gameplay for players, which is much smoother than base video game consoles.

Using the perks the system offers, they tried providing a higher level of detail in demonstrating a dense crowd. Depth of field is improved during the dialogue deliveries and higher resolution of textures will be generated around player character.

Obviously, better details in texture of display will make the surrounding in-game world alive and that is what makes an immerse experience of Ancient Greece. What everyone will come across in other platforms, the power of Xbox One X will push further to do better.

The amount of RAM available within the device allows welcoming a lot of augmentation possibilities. The transition of every other surrounding in 4K HDR will make it near impossible for anyone to go back to playing it on any other platforms.

Capacities provided by Xbox One X have allowed the team to do more and execute their plans more flawlessly for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Your experience will be of next level if you haven't lost yourself into an open world game like this one before.

Even in comparison to the output of PlayStation 4 Pro, X fares a lot better result in terms of graphical clearance and pixel-count. So, with everything we have at hand right now, hopefully it is safe to say that Odyssey is best played on Xbox One X.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Has Leveling and Micro-Transactions Issues

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey maybe slowly pushing players to face real-money economy to be done with grinding.

Over the years, developer/publisher Ubisoft's action role-playing game series Assassin’s Creed has evolved a lot and after Assassin’s Creed Origins from last year, it is taken further in the recently released title Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

One such aspect is the character level, which determines what you can and cannot at times. For instance, you can easily engage an enemy of your level or slightly above than that but trying to butt heads with someone more powerful than your grade can be suicidal.

Now you can consider that a pretty clever in-game mechanics to put a hold on where can you move and when. However, that actually feels a less like an open-world game that players would want to explore and it doesn't bother at first until grinding becomes very necessary.

Odyssey is much bigger that Origins, which takes nearly 50 hours to complete and it only means more XP gaining. Though not annoying in the beginning, it becomes quite common and repetitive at later point just for the sake of leveling.

RELATED: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Season Pass Details

When you will eventually level up a step, you will realize that the surrounding animals and enemies have also leveled with you. Just when you felt that you are now more capable after leveling up, it practically becomes useless and it really sucks!

While playing the story mission, you will realize the hustle it takes for the slightest leveling your character. The side-missions don't hold you back much in terms of rewarding with XP but a spending a considerable amount of time is nearly inescapable.

RELATED: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Choices and Consequences

Odyssey is of course a great experience for playing but at later point XP gaining can become a problem and apparently, Ubisoft has something in the in-game store that can level you up quite faster than playing though or completing those side-quests.

There are a few items you can pick up from the store that takes care of the annoying grinding problem permanently. Purchasing of a "Permanent XP Boost" item will grant you a permanent increase in experience you have earned playing by 50%.

This boost will apply on all of your saved games and everything you will do gets you 50 percent more XP, which costs only 1,000 Helix Credits. The minimum amount to get one of these will cost you only $4.99 for a Base Pack and can spend up to $49.99 for Extra Large Pack.

Ubi Club members have the special chance to buy them using virtual coins to gain 25% more XP. Spending 10 coins earns you a boost and you get plenty of them but they are for a limited time and there will never be enough. You just have to spend some cash at some point.

Although the system of purchasing Helix Credits was present in Origins, they never tried to force players to face the issue of real-money economy through leveling mechanics but Odyssey almost makes it obvious and almost unavoidable to complete the story.

Right now, we are hoping that Ubisoft will probably release a patch to fix this to a manageable point. Whether it is a small mistake in their part or a secret ploy to get into the wallet of the players by forcing them into a punishing circle of crushing struggle remains to be seen.
