World War Z Horde Mode Z Update Live Now

The Horde Mode Z Update for World War Z is live now with newly added game mode, special zombie and weapon skins.

Upon reaching nearly 2 million players in just a month after launch, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Mad Dog Games decided to add more content in post-launch period for their co-op zombie shooter title World War Z.

Nearing end of Q4 2019, second installment of Season 2 content update has gone live today on PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One including a brand-new infected type and most-requested Horde Mode feature.

Halfway through second season, Horde Mode Z has debuted to put players against thousands of undeads pouring in from everywhere. Each wave is more difficult than the one you have just cleared and there are side objectives to take care of.

In between matches, it would be wise to look for resources and get your defenses up to be ready for next wave. Explore within maps to find out hidden military crates that will offer bonus rewards that you can even spend on upgrades.

Among available six classes, The Exterminator is well fitted at killing swarms but may be weak against special zombies. Players can switch and swap between other classes to experiment what works for them in Horde Mode Z.

Latest update will introduce a menacing new undead type known as The Bomber and it does exactly what its namesake suggests. You would better off not pushing your luck with this one and take him down from far to avoid explosion.

Moreover, purchasing Special Operations Forces skin pack DLC will let you slay hordes in style. When final part of Season 2 update of WWZ will arrive on Q1 2020, cross-play support will finally let everyone play together over all platforms.

World War Z definitely stands out from other zombie shooters but its massive swarms are what make it a unique experience. Saber Interactive is currently working on a new Episode consists of three missions in a new location for near future.

World War Z Season 2 DLC Roadmap

Saber Interactive announced second season of post-launch free DLC roadmap for World War Z in Q4 2019.

Upon meeting unexpected success with their third-person shooter title World War Z, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive decided to support their player community with seasonal post-launch content for free.

Wrapping up its first season of content with free Proving Grounds Update lately, Season 2 DLC content roadmap looks at new challenges, maps and weapons to come on top of one of the most-anticipated feature, Horde Mode.

As expected, next batch of free update to add two new PvE missions in existing locations like Moscow and New York. A prestige rank system will be included for weapon skins and perks alongside a new flamethrower weapon.

In fifth content update, survivors will encounter a dangerous new zombie type we don't much about but possibly from a military background. Then there are cosmetics items to earn and full crossplay support coming to core PvE gameplay.

Upcoming wave-based Horde Mode Z will be making its debut soon and since WWZ dynamic Swarm Engine is can make hundreds of zombies rampaging towards you at once, we can look forward to an entertaining Horde Mode play.

Of course, Saber Interactive will have four new character and weapon skins as paid DLC on their fifth update within October to December 2019. It would be really nice for them to add more weapon varieties and special zombie types in future.

Although none of these post-launch updates have an official release date slated yet, they are all expected to arrive within 2019. However, PvE, rank system and weapons are likely to drop before rest of the planned contents.

World War Z is currently available for PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. Based on Paramount Pictures' 2013 movie of the same name, titular co-op shooter has performed better than expected on launch.

World War Z Season One DLC Roadmap

Saber Interactive reveals their post-launch free DLC roadmap for World War Z in coming months on 2019.

Although involvement of developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive in the third-person shooter title World War Z was a bit assuring, many were doubtful whether or not it would turn out to be another zombie game.

After ruling over UK sales charts following launch, WWZ has most recently sold over one million copies within first week of its release. It got developers all worked up to reveal their roadmap for upcoming free DLC updates to show their appreciation.

Starting from June, a new mission will take survivors to Tokyo where they would come across a new type of zombie that spits a deadly virus. On top of that, these particular enemies can come back by resurrecting themselves if not dispatched properly.

Judging by their appearances, these undead were most probably subjected to some sort of experimentation forcefully before or after a global pandemic that granted them abilities that are stuff of nightmares compared to its brethren.

Then in June, another free update will add six-skull difficulty setting, which is suggested to be an extreme difficult level but it comes with bonus cosmetic items and exclusive rewards for dipping your toes into intense difficulty setting.

July would deliver a new weekly challenge mode that would bring some additional cosmetic accessories and useful items. Obviously, WWZ players on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One would have access to these post-launch DLC updates.

Aside from these highlighted offerings, Saber Interactive studio also planing for features like a wave-based survival mode, ability for anyone to join private lobbies or switch between player classes while in PvPvZ matches and more.

World War Z post-launch DLC schedule seems pretty jam-packed and will surely keep survivors busy trying to outlive the dead. Despite initially having some connectivity issues, the game has successfully crawled back onto its feet again.

Aside from tackling post-apocalyptic horror of massive zombie hordes, there will be a PvP multiplayer mode but unlike their typical counterparts, the studio chose to go on a different route to make things interesting for everyone.

Survivors will band together in exploring Jerusalem, New York and Moscow for refuge and supplies while fighting the undead on the go. Zombies in the game are not just fast and relentless; they can easily overwhelm a group in a few moments.

World War Z First Gameplay Trailer

Paramount Pictures and Saber Interactive offers us a new look at the co-op gameplay of upcoming World War Z video game.

When Paramount Pictures and Saber Interactive decided to announce upcoming World War Z video game based on director Marc Forster's 2013 blockbuster film of same name starring actor Brad Pitt (Fight Club, Inglourious Basterds), we were all bedazzled by it.

This third-person shooter is currently set to release in late 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Today, a gameplay trailer has been unveiled that gives us a first-look of how this four-player co-op experience it is going to be for everyone.

Even though there are no glimpse of Brad Pitt's portrayed character Gerry Lane anywhere in the clip, it is not any less exciting.

RELATED: Metro Exodus Delayed to 2019

The gameplay trailer above takes us to one of in-game location of the snow-capped city of Moscow, where a small pack of survivors have banded together to form a sort of last stand against a huge infected populace running rampant.

On top of a building, they were preparing for an incoming wave with hatchets, mounted machine guns and barricades, which are not efficient at all. Then narrator explains that they are here to fulfill their sacred duty of freeing the souls of the damned lurking around.

Suddenly, hundreds of zombies start pouring from nearby buildings as unknown narrator protagonist and his three comrades goes into defensive positions. Then we see cut scenes of fast running zombies unleashes upon players trying to mow down humanity.

Each member of this undead swarm acts like rabid dogs and they are seemingly quite defiant at incoming bullet rain. Since World War Z is a four-player co-op action game, player task probably involves securing different bases from being overrun.

We just saw how bad things have gone for Moscow already and most probably, other major cities aren't doing any better. Paramount and Saber Interactive are most likely to feature New York and Jerusalem location in their upcoming trailers.

Hopefully, more information on World War Z will be revealed during E3 2018 and even a story trailer may release. Other than a few locations we saw before, it doesn't seem the game has any relation to the film and trying to cash-in on its overwhelming success.
