Techland officially reveals a release date for open-world zombie game Dying Light 2 set for December 2021.

Dying Light 2 Release Date

Originally revealed during E3 2018 press event, upcoming survival horror game Dying Light 2 by developer/publisher Techland was delayed indefinitely last year from its slated Spring 2020 release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic back in early 2020, Techland had to push back their long-awaited sequel to 2015 open-world zombie action game and today, Dying Light 2 gets an official launch date scheduled for December 7, 2021.


Techland also releases a new gameplay trailer to showcase new aspects and story setting of Dying Light 2.





Amidst long development period of DL2, some key developers including a lead writer left studio starts rumors of their toxic workplace. Techland dev team however, reassured gamers that they will be dropping more information this year.

Techland eventually kept their promise by routinely revealing new info through Q&A videos on YouTube and other social media. Dying Light 2 release date comes with an added sub-title "Stay Human", unveiled via an early Twitch event.


Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate and Collector's Edition of Dying Light 2 is currently up for pre-order on all platforms. Techland recently released a new bundle featuring first Dying Light game and all its DLCs titled Dying Light: Platinum Edition.

Dying Light 2 is all set to release on December 7, 2021 worldwide for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Next-gen console versions of DL2 will reportedly be supporting 4K resolution and ray-tracing.
