Diablo 4 to Feature More Gore, NPC and Towns

Blizzard will make Diablo IV much darker; will add over 100 towns for more NPC interaction to tell a grounded story.

Revealed last week at BlizzCon 2019, developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment is working on Diablo IV, next installment of hack and slash action RPG game series that is set to launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

Shortly afterwards, players have a chance to take a look at its story premise and brief gameplay overview. Blizzard is not only going to make Diablo 4 darker but is planning to feature more towns and villages with lots of NPC interaction.

During a panel at BlizzCon, creative director Sebastian Stępień talked about its lore and world. Darkness will greatly serve its plotline by moving from infamously bright surroundings of Diablo III and more gritty vibes of Diablo II.

There will be lots of NPCs from more than 100 towns and villages for players to explore and learn from locals. This way, its story is approached in a much grounded way and players will piece together stories of regular folks.

RELATED: World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Expansion Announced

People living in these villages are not talking about kings, politics or anything but giving reference of dark medieval fantasy. These locations can also serve as a form of social hubs or may be used to host seasonal events in future.

In past, games of Diablo franchise would require players to take tour in certain areas in each act and they were branch of a central town. So far, number of towns was summed up to less than 10 but adding over 100 of them is quite a leap.

Set in massive open-world locations, the game will share select areas and world bosses with fellow players online. Another aspect that has came to light lately is that D4 to be always online and not supporting a full offline mode

By the time Diablo IV was revealed at BlizzCon 2019, it was no longer a surprise to its audience because of numerous leaks and though a possible release window is not given yet, it is not likely to come out any time sooner than 2021.

Diablo 4 Will Have Cosmetic Micro-Transactions

Blizzard would offer players cosmetic micro-transactions for character skins and mounts in Diablo IV.

Earlier this month, developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment kicked-off BlizzCon 2019 by officially revealing upcoming Diablo IV from renowned hack and slash action RPG game series Diablo for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

D4 is to take a darker path than its predecessor and will feature more than 100 towns to explore. It is also unveiled recently by a livestream from BlizzCon that they will include some micro-transactions for cosmetic items.

RELATED: Diablo 4 Announced

Blizzard representatives confirmed during their annual event that Diablo 4 will add character customization options and mounts, which players are allowed to spend money on to purchase these items for their characters.

Although developers are currently planning to do micro-transactions solely for cosmetics, there is no guarantee that they won't go for a different model of business in future and that is what concerns majority of player community.

RELATED: Diablo 4 Will Be Always Online

In a discussion with Twitch streamer Quin69, lead developer Joe Shely talks about in-game monetization.

Diablo 4 will be available as a base game, and we're going to have expansions. You also will be able to acquire cosmetics in the game.

RELATED: Diablo 4 to Feature More Gore, NPC and Towns

Shely also confirmed during a live broadcast at BlizzCon that these purchases can be made in an in-game shop. Even if they are in early stage of development, multiple expansions will be part of their post-launch content support.

Despite allowing in-game purchases for customization skins, players will never be allowed to gain power through build. Whether they are going for a subscription model is not clarified yet but for a full-priced title, that idea seems rather irrational.

RELATED: World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Expansion Announced

Given overall scenario of mobile game releases in recent years, Blizzard is more likely to pursue a heavily micro-transaction imbued business model for their upcoming Diablo Immortal title that would largely target Chinese market.

Since Diablo IV is expected to sell several million units followed by multiple paid expansions, they could make those items free for players. Even though deemed harmless, putting a price tag on cosmetics in a looter RPG is never a good sign.

Diablo 4 Will Be Always Online

Blizzard has confirmed that all versions of Diablo IV are online-only and won't support a full offline mode.

Only days ago at BlizzCon 2019, developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced Diablo IV, latest installment of their hack and slash action RPG game series Diablo for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Of course, this news would make fans cheer in joy and maybe even have them forgive Blizzard for disastrous launch event of Diablo Immortal from last year but there is a catch; D4 will require you to be connected to the internet.

diablo 4 online only pc ps4 xb1
Diablo IV Will Be Always Online

RELATED: Diablo 4 Announced

Lead designer Angela Del Priore has recently confirmed on a panel at BlizzCon that Diablo 4 will not feature a full offline mode, which means players would need to have a constant access to internet connection if they want to play.

You are free to enjoy solo adventure and noting would force them to party up with others but they won't support a full offline mode. Anyone can experience campaign quest areas and play through dungeons in private anytime.

RELATED: Fallout 76 Buyers in Australia to Get Refunds

Now this decision should not come as much of a surprise to players on PC platform since even for single-player mode, Diablo III would require them to connect to internet same as their other titles like Overwatch, StarCraft or World of Warcraft.

However, this action will most likely to affect player community on consoles, because Blizzard had an exception for those versions of Diablo 3 to play offline back then but now they will only support online play over all platforms.

RELATED: Dauntless: Haunted Shadows Update Live Now

Blizzard Entertainment opting out of an offline mode support for the game is mainly because of their DRM policy but whether or not it would force console players to subscribe to PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold is not yet confirmed.

Diablo IV is fourth mainline release from its respective action RPG franchise and has no set launch date yet but according to estimates from analysts; it would arrive sometime around 2021 since the project is still under development.

The Outer Worlds Player Beats Game on Max Difficulty, Non-Lethal Run

YouTube gamer Kyle Hinckley took a challenge to beat The Outer Worlds in hardcore difficulty and without killing anyone.

Within weeks of its worldwide release on all major platforms, sci-fi action role-playing game The Outer Worlds by developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Private Division has been making all sort of positive buzz in gaming world.

Since the game is offering players a bucket load of choices to pursue that adds value of replayability, anyone can choose to do anything and one player among all decided to avoid violence and play like a complete pacifist.

YouTuber Kyle Hinckley took a path to of peace where he keep away from killing anyone directly and see what that leads him to. If that was not already tricky enough to pull, he chose to do that in Supernova, toughest difficulty of the game.

Obsidian actually allows players to complete many in-game main quests without having to murder anyone. If there seem to be a situation where that doesn't seem like a viable option, you just need to come up with a way somehow.

RELATED: Nintendo Switch Getting More 3DS Games

In one of his missions, he had to use a computer to wrap things up but there were two caterpillars on his way and he had to hide but since he cannot use the PC without alerting them, a tactical time dilation became his solution.

Another case presented a situation where he had to enter in a room with a character but it would lead to crashes. So, he made that NPC to do his bidding by using a mind control ray that lead into them attacking one another and he moves forward.

RELATED: Fallout 76 Buyers in Australia to Get Refunds

Doing this has made the game completely skip an impending cut-scene for some reason but let Hinckley proceed anyway. In most cases, he simply talked his way out of troubles or simply ran away from clashes when deemed necessary.

Not only he was busy evading conflicts but also focused on none would get hurt by any of his cohorts too by setting them to passive mode. Occasionally, he used many tools and weapons to affect circumstances but never directly for killing.

Kyle uploaded a series of playthrough videos on his YouTube channel "The Weirdist" for viewers to enjoy and here is where it all starts.

Diablo 4 Announced

Blizzard Entertainment officially revealed highly-anticipated dungeon crawling title Diablo IV at BlizzCon 2019.

Although expected to be revealed last year, developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment ended up showcasing upcoming mobile title Diablo Immortal instead of latest installment of mainline Diablo game from popular dungeon crawler series.

After multiple leaks from various sources and a series of rumors hinting its existence over and over to fans, Blizzard has finally announced hack and slash action RPG title Diablo IV for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at BlizzCon 2019.

However, instead of gold what they find inside is terror unimaginable as their fallen companion returns to unveil a horrific truth to them. They have unwittingly entered a forbidden tomb and opened up a gate to hell that will usher doom.

At this point, a new Diablo game is not a surprise anymore since it has been reportedly under development for some time and probably even changed direction at least once but ultimately, Blizzard decided to go back to series roots.

Entire plot will focus on Sanctuary and mother of the Nephalem, Lilith will be serving as main antagonist. Taking inspiration from all past games of the franchise in terms of horror aspects and gameplay, Diablo IV aims to be gorier and grittier.

Fallout 76 Buyers in Australia to Get Refunds

Australia is allowing some Fallout 76 players to get refunds after they were being "mislead" by Bethesda/ZeniMax.

In past, many players have tried getting refunds for a total train wreck launch of online action role-playing game Fallout 76 but all of their requests was denied by developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks back then except a lucky few.

Apparently, player frustration has reached to a certain critical point where Australian Competition and Commission had to make a move and now, some players in Australia has become eligible to get refunds for their purchase.

Most recently, Bethesda has launched Fallout 1st, a paid subscription service for Fallout 76 and managed to let down their player community once again because of being released in a buggy state and having many key features missing.

WWE Games to Release Patch for Broken State of WWE 2K20

Following major backlash from fans over major issues, WWE Games announces to release patch for WWE 2K20.

Latest installment of professional wrestling video game WWE 2K20 has debuted to harsh criticism of fans over digital outlets and social media due to its annoying glitches, poor graphics and many other performance issues at launch.

Whereas it is fairly common for sports games to have some bugs to begin with, 2K20 took it to another level where it is considered a stinky mess and eventually game publisher had to come out promising a patch to resolve those issues.

Within next two weeks, developer Visual Concepts and publisher 2K Sports will roll out a patch that will resolve some major issues. However, this promise means almost nothing to day-one customers or those who pre-ordered.

2K Games simply couldn't delay WWE 2K20 for two weeks probably because of their contractual obligations but that still is no excuse to sell a full-priced game in a beta state and some has paid even more for special editions.

WWE Games have acknowledged current broken state of 2K20 and promised a patch in a latest statement on Twitter.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 Delayed to May 2020

A significant drop of graphics quality was noticed in early preview footage after departure of longtime Japanese developer Yuke’s, who has been working on WWE game series since 2000 and Visual Concepts took over development this year.

Their work in 2K20 has met with brutal reviews for delivering a product full of bugs and in a broken state. There are so many problems with almost every feature that it would require more than a single patch to deal with them all.

RELATED: NBA 2K20 Review-Bombed on Metacritic and Steam

People are also concerned whether publisher is willing to put that much effort to bring 2K20 in a working state since the game is part of WWE 2K annual series and 2K Games is most likely to start focusing on their next title by now.

Considering how developer Visual Concepts has already messed up twice in a year with NBA 2K20 first and WWE 2K20, it is really time for 2K to reconsider whether they should trust the studio with more of their sports titles in future.
